Chapter 33: So Lovely—It’s Miss Succubus’s Scent

“After I walked you home that day, I headed toward the night market alone.

But halfway there, I unexpectedly ran into a magical beast.

“At the time, that beast seemed to be fleeing—because I noticed a magical girl flying in the air not far behind her.

“She ran straight toward me.

I was terrified and wanted to call for help—but I ended up startling her instead.

Without a word, she left this wound on my chest as a warning.

“Then, after confirming I’d stay quiet, she quickly escaped…”

Su Yuan spun the story with all her might, trying to make her words sound as believable as possible.

Mhm!

Logical, complete, with a beginning and an end—solid reasoning!

As she spoke, she kept an ear out for any reaction from Bai Shimo behind her, hoping she would say something.

Rain pattered down, the air carrying a chill.

Bai Shimo’s breath and body heat were so close—yet Su Yuan only felt her palms grow cold.

“Sh-Shimo?”

She called out weakly, trying to elicit some response from Bai Shimo.

After a long wait, she finally felt the arms around her shoulders loosen slightly, giving her a bit of room to breathe.

“Xiao Yuan, I’m sorry—if I do something later that might make you uncomfortable, will you forgive me?”

“Huh?”

“Will you forgive me?”

“N-no… Shimo, what are you going to do?”

“Will you forgive me?”

By now, Bai Shimo had already crawled out of the huge concrete pipe and was standing alone in the pouring rain.

Her tea-brown hair and school uniform shirt were both soaked through.

Rainwater streamed down her cheeks in rivulets, and her skirt clung to her thighs.

“I just need to examine your body.

Please, say yes—I don’t want to force you… but this is truly very important to me.”

She bent down slightly, hooking one finger under Su Yuan’s chin.

Rainwater dripped from her fingertips, wetting Su Yuan’s pale cheeks.

“I’ll be gentle.

It won’t hurt much.”

She stared into Su Yuan’s eyes, and Su Yuan saw emotions in them she couldn’t decipher.

“Magical girls have the right to forcibly search others.

But Xiao Yuan is my friend—I want your permission before I continue.”

Ugh… do I even have a choice…

Su Yuan silently complained in her heart, glancing around.

Under the gray sky, layers of rain obscured everything.

No one else was in sight.

In this desolate, abandoned park, only the two girls stood alone.

“I understand… then I’ll listen to you, Shimo…”

In the end, all she could manage was that low, feeble reply.

The next moment, she saw Bai Shimo standing in the rain—a twisted smile suddenly appearing on her beautiful face.

Su Yuan didn’t even have time to process why the magical girl who symbolized love and justice would wear such an unfamiliar expression.

Then, the next instant—

A dazzling flash of light blazed forth.

In Bai Shimo’s hand, the sapphire staff materialized out of thin air.

Pure white mana light surged around her, instantly transforming into the familiar battle attire.

The white skirt symbolizing “Molly” bloomed like a flower unfolding layer by layer in the rain, swaying and drifting.

Bai Shimo—no, at this moment, she was Magical Girl “Molly”—hovered two or three meters above the ground, staff in hand, looking down at Su Yuan curled inside the concrete pipe.

Raindrops splashed against the mana barrier around her, scattering into tiny specks of light.

Th-this… why did Bai Shimo suddenly transform?

What was she planning?

Su Yuan’s heart sank.

She had a bad feeling about this!

But it was already too late.

With a flick of her wrist, Bai Shimo’s staff transformed into a crystalline bow.

Her lips parted slightly as she chanted softly:

“Intertwining bindings, myriad illusions.”

The moment her voice faded, six streaks of silver light burst from the bowstring!

The arrows shot like shooting stars, instantly embedding themselves in the ground around Su Yuan and the pipe’s outer walls.

Their silver radiance pierced the dim light like lightning, forming an invisible encirclement.

“Shimo, wh-what are you doing…”

Su Yuan was stunned, her voice trembling slightly.

But before she could move, the six silver arrows suddenly dissolved, transforming into six soft, glowing white ribbon-like satin sashes—as if alive, they lunged straight toward her!

“W-wait—!”

Su Yuan had no room to escape.

Unable to revert to her succubus form, she was like a defenseless lamb before Bai Shimo.

Under her astonished gaze, the soft sashes deftly wrapped around her wrists and ankles, lifting her off the ground with irresistible force—suspending her in midair.

“L-let me down!

Shimo!

What are you doing to me?!”

Su Yuan struggled instinctively—but the sashes didn’t budge.

She could only hang in front of Bai Shimo like prey.

“I already told you.”

Bai Shimo flew before her expressionlessly, raising her staff gently—pressing the cold sapphire at its tip against the collar of Su Yuan’s uniform.

“Xiao Yuan—I’m going to give you a physical examination.”

Her voice was flat, devoid of emotion.

“You said that ‘succubus’ scratched you and left—is that true?”

“But from what I know, that succubus only knows how to hide and run—she wouldn’t do what you described.”

“There are two types of light-trace particles left on your wound: one from the spell that caused the injury, and the other… from a healing-type spell.”

“I can’t determine which one is actually on your wound.

So I have to personally and thoroughly confirm—whether Xiao Yuan is lying to me.”

As the cold words fell, Bai Shimo leaned in slightly.

The sapphire reflected a chill light in her unfathomable pupils.

“I… I…”

Su Yuan felt as if all her strength to resist had been drained.

She could only watch helplessly as the staff nudged open her collar—cold rain instantly pouring in, sending a shiver across her uniform-clad skin.

Her jacket was easily undone, revealing the area below her collarbone—

That pale pink scar, still not fully healed.

The moment Bai Shimo saw that wound, a nearly obsessive gleam flickered across her eyes—like a desert traveler finally spotting an oasis, or a collector beholding a long-coveted treasure.

“It’s her… it really was left by her…”

She murmured, her pale fingertips—as if driven by an uncontrollable impulse—lightly tracing the edge of that pale pink scar.

The touch was cool, carrying the warmth of Su Yuan’s skin.

Then, Bai Shimo did something that made Su Yuan’s entire body freeze.

She slowly raised the fingers that had just touched the wound to her lips—and, almost reverently, pressed a kiss to them.

Her lashes lowered, as if savoring some indescribable essence lingering on her fingertips.

After a long moment, Bai Shimo lifted her head.

The daze and fervor in her eyes receded like the tide, returning to their usual calm.

She raised her left hand slightly and traced a miniature magic circle in the air before the wound.

A faint blue light swirled along with complex runes, slowly rotating, emitting a pure and precise probing mana.

Bound by the sashes, Su Yuan held her breath, not daring to blink.

She knew—the decisive moment of verification had come.

The magic circle silently settled over the wound, its light pulsing gently.

Within seconds—

The result was clear for all to see.
