Chapter 7: You Can Only Be Mine

“Wh-what?!”

Su Yuan almost doubted whether she had heard correctly.

Bai Shimo… had recognized her?

She was using “Nana’s” disguise!

She hadn’t leaked a single trace of her aura!

“I… I don’t understand what you’re talking about…”

She tried to protest, her voice dry, instinctively wanting to avoid that scorching gaze and the suffocating pressure bearing down on her.

“Still trying to act in front of me?”

Bai Shimo’s fingers tightened, nearly crushing her jawbone, forcing her head up so she could no longer look away.

“You must be wondering—how can a human like me detect the presence of a demon?”

Her voice brushed against Su Yuan’s ear, cold yet carrying a twisted heat.

“It’s true—without the Security Bureau’s mana fluctuation detection system, ordinary humans can’t possibly perceive a demon disguised as a human through their own senses.”

She paused.

In the depths of those amber eyes churned emotions so intense they verged on pain—emotions Su Yuan could not begin to comprehend.

“But you see, dear succubus, you’re different.

I can never forget your presence.”

Bai Shimo’s voice dropped, now sharp with a bitter edge.

“Do you remember?

Three years ago, on that abandoned rooftop—you saved me when I was about to jump.”

“That night we spent together—you said I was cute, said you liked me, said you would stay with me all night…”

“Back then, your aura, your warmth, everything about you—it was all carved deep into my mind.

I can never forget it, not in this lifetime!”

“But what did you do after that?!”

“At dawn, you left me alone in that cold, empty room!

You ran away!”

“After I had finally—finally found a glimmer of hope because of you—you shattered it all!”

“Do you know how long I cried that morning?!”

Bai Shimo’s body began to tremble uncontrollably.

Her voice grew tinged with a tremor she could no longer suppress—whether anger or something else, it was impossible to tell.

“Do you know, dear succubus, why I’m standing here in this battle attire, why I became the strongest magical girl?”

“Exactly.

To find you!”

“I joined the Security Bureau to gain access—to comb through nearly every name and record in this country.

Travel logs, accommodation records, household registries…”

“I naively believed that if I just looked hard enough, I’d find that ‘big sister’ who saved my life and then so cruelly abandoned me!”

Su Yuan’s shoulders ached from the pressure.

She stared into Bai Shimo’s eyes—those eyes that always carried a polite smile—now roiling with a fixation and madness utterly at odds with her “star magical girl” image.

“But I was wrong.

No matter how hard I tried, how much time I spent, how many records I flipped through—I could never find that face.”

“Until an experienced senior told me—”

Here, Bai Shimo paused, locking eyes with Su Yuan’s suddenly contracted pupils.

“That ‘big sister’ was likely not human—but a succubus.

A succubus skilled in transformation and adept at playing with people’s hearts!”

Her fingers tightened on Su Yuan’s chin, her voice soft as a whisper—yet sending chills down the spine.

“Succubus, now that I’ve finally caught you, I’ll have to properly… ‘repay’ you, won’t I?”

“Ngh!”

Su Yuan finally began to struggle in earnest.

She was completely panicked now!

From the moment the wardrobe had been blasted apart so easily, she had understood the chasm in power between herself and Bai Shimo—the “strongest” existence that even a Lord-class like Senior Goria could not face head-on.

And her?

A low-rank succubus with nothing but escape and disguise—how could she possibly fight back?

She curled herself into an even smaller ball, trying desperately to avoid Bai Shimo’s searing gaze and the dangerously close presence pressing in on her.

“I-I’m sorry…”

Tears welled up uncontrollably.

She choked on her words, attempting one final plea.

“Miss Bai, please let me go… I’ve never harmed any human, never done anything wrong… I just… I just quietly take a tiny bit of energy from people, enough to survive… I only want to live…”

At last, summoning a sliver of courage, she lifted her tear-misted red eyes and gazed timidly at Bai Shimo, hoping to evoke even a hint of mercy.

“Miss Bai… please… I’ve always been good…”

But her plea seemed only to stir deeper coldness in the other’s eyes.

“Begging for mercy?”

Bai Shimo’s grip on her chin didn’t loosen in the slightest.

Her voice could have frozen blood.

“Begging won’t help you now, succubus.

I’m going to catch you, lock you up, and make you taste every bit of the agony I’ve endured searching for you these three years.

Only then—”

Before she could finish—

The last glimmer of hope in Su Yuan’s eyes died, replaced by the desperate ferocity of a cornered animal.

She clenched her jaw—and the demonic power she had been suppressing within her body erupted in an instant!

It slammed violently into Bai Shimo!

“Guh!”

Caught off guard, Bai Shimo was pushed back half a step by the sudden burst of force, her grip on Su Yuan’s wrist loosening for just a moment.

Now!

Like a coiled spring, Su Yuan launched herself up from the floor!

Her fingertips extended into sharp, jet-black claws in an instant!

She didn’t try to attack Bai Shimo.

Instead, using the momentum of rising, she twisted her slender waist and kicked off the wall with both feet!

CRASH—!!!

In midair, Su Yuan’s claws swiftly slashed through an old chandelier wire overhead!

Sparks exploded.

The lampshade and glass shards rained down in a clattering cascade!

Almost simultaneously, Bai Shimo recovered from her brief shock.

Her eyes sharpened—and she raised her staff without hesitation!

Fwoosh!

Fwoosh, fwoosh!

Several fist-sized sapphire-blue mana orbs condensed at the tip of her staff, one after another, and shot forward!

The orbs chased Su Yuan’s darting figure, blasting scorched craters into the walls, the floor, and the remnants of wardrobes behind her!

In an instant, debris flew and dust filled the air!

Su Yuan didn’t dare look back—and certainly couldn’t afford to take a hit.

She pushed her succubus-born agility to its absolute limit, scrambling and twisting through the narrow corridor in a desperate, clumsy dance.

That white battle-clad figure pursued like a vengeful specter, orbs of magic firing one after another, weaving a dangerous net.

“Give it up, dear succubus!”

Bai Shimo’s slightly unhinged laughter came from behind.

“You can’t escape anywhere.

You can only—be—MINE!”
