Only the most influential dignitaries, wealthy gentry, or extraordinary individuals possessing rare treasures were granted entry.
“Get lost! You think a few bottles of basic recovery potions are enough to enter the Crimson Gala? Do you take this place for a street-side general store?” a crude shout suddenly pierced the air. Several fully armed guards were seen roughly pushing a man clutching a handful of potions out of the entrance. The man attempted to argue, but a guard swiftly repelled him with a magic barrier, sending him sprawling ungracefully onto the roadside.
Su Liyue and her two companions, having just arrived, witnessed this scene unfold. Mu Wanqing instinctively moved to offer assistance, but Li Yunxin quickly restrained her. “This is the Crimson Gala Auction,” she said. “That man was trying to sneak in with a few recovery potions; who knows who he really is.”
Mu Wanqing unconsciously tightened her grip on Su Liyue’s sleeve. “Yueyue, what kind of treasures are actually being auctioned here? Such a grand display…”
“Well…” Su Liyue found herself momentarily speechless. While she had attended countless cultivation world auctions, predicting the wares of a magic world auction was a different challenge entirely.
Li Yunxin subtly shook the brochure in her hand, remarking meaningfully, “Interestingly, this time there’s even a spherical pill up for auction…” She deliberately drew out her words, her gaze lingering on Su Liyue’s face for a moment. “Beyond that, there are rare magical potion ingredients, high-tier magic cores, and all sorts of equipment… Truly befitting a top-tier auction. They both asked in unison, then paused, startled.
Li Yunxin’s heart quickened. ‘Could this fellow countryman read minds? Had her feasibility report on ‘sticking close’ with a fellow countryman from another world, which she’d drafted before bed last night, been discovered?’
Su Liyue, meanwhile, muttered to herself. ‘Oh no, does this girl have telepathy, sensing that I plan to play matchmaker? Am I going to introduce her to that blockhead Liu Yuxuan? I can almost see the pitiful sight of Liu Yuxuan sprinting across the sports field, holding a banner that reads ‘Miss Yunxin, Marry Me!”
“You two…” Mu Wanqing suddenly poked her head between them, her watery eyes blinking innocently. “Why did you suddenly start matchmaking?” She felt something was amiss but couldn’t quite place it.
When Mu Wanqing posed her question, both of them immediately let out awkward, dry laughs. “Ahahaha… um… perhaps we should just head into the auction first!” While outwardly laughing it off, their minds were racing with their own thoughts: ‘Since the other person asked that, they must certainly be single!’
Li Yunxin secretly schemed, already mentally pigeonholing Ye Xingchen as merely Su Liyue’s good friend. After all, in her view, they were all fellow countrymen from Earth, making such an arrangement perfectly normal. As the trio prepared to enter, unnoticed by them, the curtains of a second-floor VIP room subtly stirred. A familiar figure, peering through the gap, observed their every move with a chilling gaze…
The three approached the VIP entrance, where a guard’s sharp gaze swept over them. When he realized they were merely three young girls in academy uniforms, his brows furrowed almost imperceptibly. The guard maintained his politeness as best he could, but his tone already carried a hint of impatience. “Little sisters, this is not a place for you.”
His unspoken meaning was clear: were it not for their youth, he would have already sent them packing, just as he had the potion master earlier.
A faint smile played on Su Liyue’s lips. ‘By her true age, she was nearly a millennium older than this guard, yet her current youthful appearance admittedly lacked persuasive power.’
“Here is our invitation. May we enter now?” She calmly produced the invitation Liu Yuxuan had given her from her pocket.
The guard took the invitation, examining it repeatedly. It was indeed a genuine VIP invitation. However, his expression only grew more conflicted. ‘Allowing a few underage students to enter the auction unaccompanied by adults? One had to understand that, besides the obvious rare treasures, this place occasionally auctioned… female slaves, which were hardly suitable for young girls to witness.’
“This…” The guard hesitated, wanting to speak but holding back. The invitation was real, yet letting them in felt inappropriate. Just as the guard wavered, a voice interrupted his thoughts. “The Crimson Gala Auction does not permit underage girls to attend alone.”
Su Liyue followed the voice, her brow furrowing as she saw the newcomer: Xiao Yun. ‘She recalled that this Xiao Yun was the dual wind and fire genius Chixiao had mentioned earlier. In their previous combat training, she seemed to have outranked him, placing him second.’
“‘Little’ your grand-pappy! The crude words spilled from her lips without a second thought.

For minors to attend alone is, indeed… against the rules.” He deliberately emphasized the words ‘status and standing,’ his gaze unconsciously darting towards Su Liyue, filled with a mysterious insinuation.
