Chapter 57: Fireworks and a Stolen Kiss

Song Ze had planned to come clean with Aliel early the next morning—the sooner he spoke up, the sooner they could leave this illusion. It was what was best for everyone!

But the moment he opened his eyes, he saw a handsome face inches from his own.

Song Ze froze, lying rigid in bed, not daring to move. He wondered if Aliel had read the letter and come seeking revenge.

Then he relaxed. Aliel’s expression showed he hadn’t discovered anything… Damn it, it was his own doing that had made him so guilty. And because of that shock, he missed his chance to confess first thing in the morning. He felt utterly unconfident.

After washing up, Song Ze obediently followed Aliel to the dining hall.

Though he’d imagined elven food might be plain, this place was so prosperous and technologically advanced that breakfast was more varied and exquisite than anything he’d experienced before. He was stunned—he never expected the elves to live so luxuriously, far outstripping the humans, the Holy Temple, and the Demon Realm.

The Elf Queen looked at him gently, making Song Ze a bit embarrassed, since he was essentially deceiving her son’s affections. After greeting him, she left, clearly having already finished breakfast.

Aliel spoke directly, “Are you not used to this food? The eating methods are quite different from the human world.”

“I-it’s fine…” Song Ze started, but Aliel pulled him onto his lap.

Song Ze: “???” Don’t learn Idis’s outrageous moves! Aside from being a jealous maniac, Aliel was the most normal among the targets!

But Aliel acted as if this were routine, casually offering breakfast to Song Ze. Seeing his surprise, he asked with concern, “Can’t eat? I’ll have it taken away—”

“No, no, I’ll eat now!” Song Ze quickly stopped Aliel’s terrifying behavior and started on the elven delicacies.

Then he began to think, maybe it wouldn’t be bad to stay in this illusion a little longer—because elven food was really delicious! He wanted to keep eating it for a while!

[Host, don’t be so easily bribed by food! Once you leave the illusion, can’t you eat as much as you want?]

“Alright.” Song Ze was just momentarily excited.

After breakfast, Song Ze started to plan how to confess to Aliel.

But things never went smoothly.

“Today I’ll take you around the area.” Without letting Song Ze speak, Aliel pulled him onto a nearby carriage.

Song Ze had no choice but to swallow his words.

The elven scenery was stunning, and the commercial streets were dazzling. At this moment, Aliel showed impressive boyfriend energy—whatever Song Ze showed interest in, he bought immediately. Song Ze never expected his game target, after a gender switch, to be so boyfriend-like! No, this was already completely different from the elven princess in the game.

Before they knew it, evening arrived. The purple sunset over the horizon was incredibly beautiful. Aliel led Song Ze to an open area overlooking the giant tree and the sprawling city below. As the sky darkened, lights flickered on, mingling with the stars—a breathtaking sight.

Song Ze was mesmerized. A feeling rose in his heart: maybe staying with the elves a while longer wouldn’t be a bad thing after all…

But he really should tell Aliel about the letter now!

Just then, Aliel took his hand.

“Song Ze.”

“Hmm?”

Song Ze turned and noticed Aliel’s elven ears were red, though not very obvious in the sunset.

“Look.”

As Aliel’s voice fell, countless fireworks exploded in the sky, too beautiful for words.

Song Ze could faintly hear cheers from others around them. Even the local elves seemed surprised. Fireworks weren’t common in this world, especially on this scale… probably some magic-technology from the elven capital? As expected of the fashionable elf race.

“Is it some special occasion today—”

“Just because you came.”

Song Ze: “Eh?!”

Aliel turned to him, his green eyes shining brightly. He gave a faint smile, his voice softer than ever, as gentle as a whisper.

“This was all prepared specially to welcome you.”

“If you like it, then that’s wonderful.”

Even Song Ze, who usually got through everything with snark, was blushing furiously. He felt his heartbeat quicken.

D-damn it!

Why was Aliel, who was supposed to be a tsundere target, now so good at sweet talk and so gentle? It was totally unfair!

That scene just now—who could resist?!

And now he couldn’t possibly bring up the letter!

In this atmosphere, bringing up such a scumbag thing… even Song Ze wanted to punch himself.

“I really like it! And, I should be the one thanking you…” Song Ze couldn’t help saying. “Since meeting you, you’ve helped me a lot.”

Though he’d also faced many near-death situations because of Aliel, it was thanks to Aliel that he survived multiple times. In short, Song Ze had high affection for Aliel, as his attitude had shown.

Hearing this, Aliel’s cheeks flushed. In his mind, this was clearly Song Ze awkwardly confessing to him. He leaned down close to Song Ze, gently closing his eyes.

Song Ze: “!!!”

Was he asking for a kiss?!

Damn… Aliel had gone this far, he couldn’t refuse.

Song Ze gritted his teeth. Surprisingly, he didn’t feel much resistance. He leaned in and pressed a kiss to Aliel’s thin lips. At that moment, fireworks burst outside, illuminating the dark night.

Only the sound of fireworks could drown out his pounding heart.

…He was probably really going to end up in a gay relationship.
