Even if you beat him to death, Song Ze would never have imagined that his first time would be with a man.
And not just any man, but one he had always believed to be his future wife!
Why, why in the world? It was clearly supposed to be a girl! So why was he the one who got screwed in the end…
Although the magic in this world was truly convenient—even after last night’s events, after being treated with healing magic, he was now full of vitality again.
A reality that should have been so wonderful had turned out to be so cruel.
The only consolation was that Aliel’s face was incredibly handsome. As someone who judged by appearances, he couldn’t ask for more—except for that one unchangeable thing: his gender.
Fortunately, Aliel was probably just an exception. The other girls would never be this cruel!
[Congratulations, Host, for completing the main quest ‘Explore the Dark Forest’ and the side quest ‘Kill Ten Magical Beasts’. Aliel’s affection is maxed. Auto-save initiated.]
Song Ze: ‘…’ What, it auto-saved?! Can’t he even take it back?!
Forget it, there’s no use regretting it anyway. It’s already happened.
Song Ze wanted to stand up nonchalantly, pretending nothing had happened, but then tragedy struck.
In the game’s setting, by the time the protagonist reached level 99, he was an overpowered combatant.
But right now, Song Ze was still a low-level nobody, under level 20. After expending so much stamina, his back ached and his legs were weak. He hadn’t taken more than a few steps before he uncontrollably stumbled forward, crashing right into Aliel, who seemed to be preparing something nearby.
Aliel reached out and steadied him, then took the chance to plant a kiss on his cheek. His tone carried a hint of helplessness. “If we do it again now, your body won’t be able to handle it.”
Song Ze was dumbfounded. “No, that’s not what I meant!” Did he really look that hungry?
“And besides, aren’t we… friends with benefits…?”
Even though he might risk a beating, Song Ze still blurted out these words that were extremely important to him.
Song Ze’s words were like setting off a mine. Aliel’s face instantly darkened, his emerald eyes filled with unfathomable coldness. The power around him couldn’t be suppressed due to his rage, pressing down on Song Ze until he trembled.
“So, even now, you’re refusing to acknowledge our relationship?”
“!!” Song Ze had no doubt that if he nodded, the outcome would be miserable. Even being beaten to death would be a blessing. Getting a bad ending would be the most terrifying!
After all, the game had all sorts of twisted bad endings, including imprisonment scenarios that no normal person could endure.
Song Ze remembered how many times he had triggered bad endings while trying to get the harem ending. Among them, the elf girl’s bad ending was the most tragic. Often, while he was raising affection with other characters, he’d be shot by an arrow and crippled…
Deeply aware of how to achieve a good ending, Song Ze could only pale, looking at Aliel with slightly red eyes, and speak in a low voice: “No, that’s not what I meant… I’m just scared. After all, everyone knows I’m just a useless waste relying on the Duke’s background… But your status is completely different… If we’re together, your family won’t agree, will they?”
Seeing Song Ze like this, Aliel’s expression softened. He held Song Ze’s hand and gazed at him with a rare tenderness. “In the past, I did think you were a useless noble young master, a clumsy one at that… But now it’s different.”
“Aliel…” Song Ze whispered. He would rather Aliel despise him! Ahhh!
And now that his affection was high, even calling him a clumsy guy sounded like sweet talk. This was so damn embarrassing!
“And now, as your fiancé, I will always protect you. As long as you’re by my side, you won’t be in danger anymore.”
Aliel was clearly not very good at saying such things. Halfway through, his ears turned slightly red. After barely finishing, he immediately turned his face away, not looking at Song Ze.
And because of that, he didn’t see Song Ze’s expression that suddenly looked like he’d been royally screwed.
Fiancé… Wait, was this really settled just like that?!
Although he chose this path to avoid a bad ending, shouldn’t they start as boyfriends first?! How did it jump straight to an engagement?!
And seeing the other’s expression, Song Ze felt a strange guilt, as if he had deceived an innocent youth’s heart. But he was the one who got screwed!
“But will the elves agree to this?” Song Ze hastily asked.
Because of the elves’ status on the continent, they were superior in every way, a rather arrogant race, and certainly very exclusive. Even high elves marrying ordinary elves was somewhat difficult, let alone an elf prince marrying a common human.
When playing the game, Song Ze never even considered such a thing. But now that his wife had turned into a man, this setting was his last straw of hope!!
“No problem.” Aliel said confidently. “You don’t need to worry about such things. I’ve already sent word back. As soon as the magic array is ready, we can hold the wedding in a few days.”
Song Ze: ‘…??’ This pace was way too damn shocking!!
“As for lifespan, there’s no need to worry.” Seeing Song Ze’s grim expression, Aliel thought he was concerned about practical issues after being together, so he immediately reassured him. “As long as we hold the ceremony and swear to the Goddess of Life, I can share half of my life with my partner.”
Song Ze: ‘…!!’ He knew about that, but… he never expected Aliel had thought so far ahead! There was simply no other reason to refuse.
At this point, was there really no room for him to back out?!
Then, just as Song Ze was despairing, a miracle happened.
Aliel reached out and ruffled his hair. “However, your concerns are not unreasonable. There are indeed some matters to handle. I’ll go back and prepare first, and tonight I’ll take you away. You need to wait here obediently.”
“Mm…!” Song Ze instantly perked up, his eyes shining as he looked at Aliel, putting on an innocent and obedient appearance.
Seeing this, Aliel quickly leaned down to kiss his forehead, then with slightly flushed cheeks, turned and hurried out of the tent.
Song Ze touched his forehead. He never expected that even after doing that sort of thing, Aliel still blushed so easily! It made him feel even more guilty.
But Song Ze absolutely, absolutely, would never marry a male elf!
Song Ze immediately sat up and pulled out some letter paper, preparing to write a farewell message to Aliel.
Then he planned to ask for leave and go straight home! After all, with such a huge incident, there was no point in him, an ordinary student, staying here. The academy would surely agree. And as for the Duke, although he had heartlessly sent him away, he couldn’t possibly just kick him out the moment he returned!
Moreover, there was the Duke’s daughter—his nominal sister, and a target in the game—waiting for him!
After writing the letter, Song Ze pulled open the tent and walked out.
Outside was quite normal, and no one noticed Song Ze. As for the most dangerous magic mark on the back of his hand, it had disappeared after the previous event. He couldn’t sense any magic aura, so Song Ze tentatively considered the matter resolved.
The High Priest had actually come here because of the beast tide. Otherwise, such an honored figure would definitely be staying in the temple. Here, temporary lodgings had been set up for the priests’ arrival.
Soon, Song Ze knocked on the door of the High Priest’s quarters, but there was no response.
Without thinking too much, he pushed the door open. But the moment he stepped inside, Song Ze felt a wave of chilling cold rushing toward him. Even as he froze, the door behind him slammed shut on its own.
The room was pitch dark, lacking any of the sacred atmosphere of a temple workspace. Instead, it was filled with a strange feeling. He could faintly smell an ominous scent of blood.
Wha-what was going on…
From his angle, Song Ze could clearly see a black-haired youth sitting on the table, holding some documents and reading. When he noticed Song Ze’s arrival, he immediately looked up, revealing a strikingly beautiful face.
In the darkness, he could clearly see that within those crimson eyes, intricate patterns glowed faintly—the mark of a high-level demon.
He looked at Song Ze and smiled innocently, yet the sight sent chills down one’s spine.
“Brother, what a coincidence?”
“No… rather, I’ve been waiting for you for a long time.”
