Song Ze sensed something was wrong halfway through, but by the time the Holy Son’s words fell, he was already too late to stop it.
He felt the mark on his back suddenly heat up as if sensing something—by now, Song Ze had psychological trauma from such sudden heat—and then a magic circle materialized on his chest, burning hot.
Song Ze: “…” ??? How did he do that?! Was the Holy Son that awesome?
[It seems that when the target and host were together in the ruins of the Holy City, he planted something on the host.]
Song Ze: “…” Tears welled up. That made perfect sense.
In truth, from the very beginning, the Holy Son had only wanted to use Song Ze. When he took Song Ze to the Holy Hall to gain power and upgrade equipment, he had already tampered with him to prevent Song Ze from simply running off after obtaining the inheritance.
Although everything had later deviated from the Holy Son’s original plan, and this hadn’t even prevented Song Ze from escaping, it was still very useful at this critical moment.
The Holy Son’s own power was space-based. His previous long-range control of spatial turbulence to deal with Andreya had already proven that. Now, with a medium in place, taking Song Ze away at this moment was a piece of cake.
As soon as the magic circle on Song Ze’s chest appeared, it burst into immense light and began to absorb a massive amount of surrounding power, creating a powerful vortex of air currents. The surrounding emerald vines all turned to ash, giving a clear idea of how terrifying that power was.
At the very center, Song Ze wasn’t in danger, but the strong wind made it hard to keep his eyes open. Worse, he suddenly felt the black gauze covering him blown away, leaving his entire back exposed and chilly. He should never have worn such clothes—
No! Was this really the time to care about meaningless exposure?!
Aliel was the first to react. His face turned cold. “This power… that guy… and this fluctuation… a teleportation spell?”
Good, this bastard. When he had wanted Aliel to find Song Ze, he had refused to see anyone, claiming it was impossible. But now that Aliel had found Song Ze, he was butting in to steal him? What a joke!
In the next instant, ice-blue vines appeared around them, their quality far superior to the ordinary ones, and they tightly bound Song Ze’s body. But even these vines were constantly drained of power by the magic circle, showing signs of withering.
Andreya’s crimson eyes were filled with killing intent. He clearly remembered that the day he brought Song Ze back, that damned Holy Son had pulled something. Otherwise, he would have long been with Song Ze, wouldn’t have had to compete with his elder brother for a man, and wouldn’t have ended up in a situation where they had to hold a three-way engagement ceremony, only to have three men show up to wreck it!
Once was enough for such things. How could he let it happen again this time?
The previously dim illusions around them regained clarity and even formed a counterforce against the magic circle, creating a stalemate.
Only the demon nobles below felt their power draining away continuously, absorbed by the magic circle in the air. They began to think that if they could leave here alive, they would never approach the capital or these two princes again!!
Their lives were more important than any high-society socializing!
As the situation stabilized, the magic circle’s influence lessened. Song Ze breathed a sigh of relief, but when he opened his eyes, he suddenly heard gasps and a familiar angry shout from around him.
“Wh-What’s going on—”
Song Ze’s words caught in his throat as he was stunned. He could clearly see the gigantic bone dragon’s head right in front of him, its blue flame eyes as large as lanterns, its huge fangs, and the bottomless darkness.
‘What the hell?!’
Before Song Ze could react, a tremendous force grabbed him—the bone dragon’s claw.
The ice-blue vines that had bound him were already weakened, and under the bone dragon’s power, they were torn apart effortlessly.
As the scene before him rapidly changed, suddenly leaving the grand hall and reaching high altitude, overlooking the bustling demon capital’s buildings and distant mountains, Song Ze realized: he had been grabbed by Idis!
The restrictions inside the palace could stop ordinary demons but were utterly ineffective against someone of Idis’s strength.
Even if he wanted to escape, it was impossible. The bone dragon’s grip was extremely firm, and besides, the bone dragon was level 75—dealing with him was a trivial matter.
Below, Andreya was furious, but they had no aerial combat capabilities. They could only try to launch forbidden spells from the ground while worrying about harming Song Ze in the bone dragon’s grasp—utterly constrained.
The people in the hall, however, breathed a sigh of relief. They had finally escaped this death trap. They nearly died because of these people’s jealous quarrels! Without waiting for the matter to end, they hurriedly fled the hall, heading straight back to their territories.
Whatever happened after, they didn’t care!
Only the Elder Prince, riding his magical beast, quickly pursued. The two were about to start a fierce battle in the air when the magic circle on Song Ze’s chest, which had dimmed to near invisibility, blazed up again.
The light was as if burning hot. It even affected the bone dragon’s claw that had been gripping Song Ze tightly—part of the claw could be seen melting away.
At this moment, Song Ze panicked and pressed his hand against his chest, but his power was useless. He could only feel an invisible force completely enveloping him.
‘The Holy Son is really going all out for this relationship!’
Song Ze keenly realized that the inheritance mark on his back had been heating up continuously, and the spatial teleportation sensation around him was being distorted by its influence… Where would this inheritance mark teleport him?!
“Damn it.” Aliel below immediately saw the situation and gritted his teeth. “That cunning Holy Son. The magic circle before was never truly weakened—he was just controlling it… He was only waiting for the right moment to activate it! We’ve all been fooled.”
…
The two above also sensed something wrong and immediately rushed to Song Ze’s side. But this time, although the teleportation circle caused less of a commotion, it was extremely fast. In just a few breaths, Song Ze’s body became transparent, and spatial turbulence formed around him, preventing anyone from getting close.
It was clear how many preparations the Holy Son had made to bring Song Ze to him. Once Song Ze arrived, he was confident that these love rivals would never see him again in their lives!
In that instant, the three of them were caught by the force and vanished from midair.
“Damn it!” Aliel on the ground let his arrow fall to the ground. Without waiting to see what would happen next, he tore open a teleportation scroll. Natural power enveloped him, and he teleported away as well.
The mess that remained would have to be dealt with by the demons.
Everyone felt a sense of survival. The destroyed buildings were secondary… After all, someone had crashed the engagement ceremony, and now the Elder Prince and the two princes’ fiancé had mysteriously disappeared! This was a major event that would shake the demon world.
“Second Prince.” The priest cautiously approached. “What will you do next? Due to the engagement ceremony, you can locate the Chosen One’s whereabouts.”
“Song Ze? Of course I’ll find him.” Andreya’s expression was grim. He spoke slowly, “But before that, I need to go see Father.”
Such a huge incident in the demon capital, yet no one else intervened, as if everyone else didn’t exist. This unreasonable situation must have a reason… And the only one who could control everything in the demon capital to this extent was the Demon King.
Even the Demon King’s earlier tacit approval of their engagement with Song Ze had been somewhat strange.
Before finding Song Ze, he had to learn everything from his father.
Andreya vaguely sensed that this was a big matter concerning his and Song Ze’s future.
As he walked toward the palace, a blinding light suddenly burst from the distant ruins, more dazzling than before, followed by a pillar of light that almost pierced the sky, erupting from that mountain peak. The power it released shook the entire demon world.
Everyone turned in shock. This was the first time they had seen such a commotion from the ruins. What was happening?
Andreya frowned deeply. “It’s them…”
