Chapter 111: One Punch, One Kiss, One Promise

The faint morning light shone into the room as Qin Liang woke up first.

A warm sensation came from his waist. He looked down and saw Tang Yunle curled up by his side, her arms wrapped tightly around his waist.

Her cheek was pressed against his pajamas. It was probably cold in the night, so she had unconsciously leaned against him all night. Her long hair was scattered on the pillow, and a few strands were stuck to her flushed cheeks.

The young man moved her hand away and got out of bed.

He then pulled the quilt and carefully wrapped it around her, tucking in the corners until that little person was completely wrapped in warmth.

After doing all this, he stood by the bed without moving, his gaze fixed on the sleeping person on the bed.

His ice-blue eyes were filled with a soft light in the morning light, mixed with a hint of reluctance and another kind of affection.

“For the sake of everything I love, I will definitely come back alive.”

Qin Liang’s voice was very soft, as if he were afraid of disturbing her dream, but it was filled with an unquestionable certainty.

After saying this, he took one last look at the rising and falling outline in the quilt, turned around without any hesitation, and walked out of the room. The moment the door was closed, all the warmth was locked inside.

The shadow in the corridor swallowed his back, and the sound of his footsteps gradually faded, finally dissipating in the silent morning light.

About five minutes passed, or maybe ten, or maybe fifteen.

“What hard thing is poking my butt?”

The girl muttered in dissatisfaction and reached for her waist, but her fingertips found nothing.

Her consciousness slowly surfaced as if it had been submerged in warm water. She opened her eyes and saw the empty pillow beside her. The warm embrace from last night had long since cooled.

“Ah Liang?” she called out, but only her own echo could be heard in the room. Looking around, she was the only one left.

“You’re up so early? You didn’t even call me. So disloyal.”

Tang Yunle got up.

Just as she was about to lift the quilt and get out of bed to change, she was poked in the lower back by that hard object again, and it was even clearer than before.

Tang Yunle frowned and reached out to feel it. Her fingertips touched a cool, metallic texture, and she pulled it out.

A simple silver-gray key. A small cat-head pendant was hanging from the key ring, and the corners were worn and smooth.

The sun was scorching. Private jet tarmac.

Boxes of luggage were being loaded onto the plane by the family’s servants. Qin Liang stood on the side of the lawn, looking into the distance, as if he were gazing at the last scenery of his life.

“Little bro, let’s go. The plane is taking off in 15 minutes,” Qin Wen urged.

He poked his head out from the cabin door and urged.

“Coming, bro,” Qin Liang replied and stepped onto the boarding ladder.

“Wait!”

“Wait for me!”

“Qin Liang, you get the hell down here!”

Suddenly, a shout from the distance, like a string that had been baked brittle by the scorching sun, abruptly snapped in the air above the tarmac.

Qin Liang, who had just taken two steps up the boarding ladder, paused at the sound.

Everyone subconsciously followed the sound and looked. On the stone-paved road at the end of their vision, a small black dot was rushing over at an astonishing speed. The sound of the wheels rolling over the ground was getting closer and closer, and there was even the roar of the wheels, like an out-of-control wild beast.

The black shadow became clearer and clearer. It was actually a bright yellow runaway go-kart. The driver was disheveled, with a fierce look on her face.

It was Tang Yunle.

She had practically rushed over the lawn at top speed. The go-kart swerved abruptly about ten meters away from the plane, the tires scraping against the grass and kicking up a cloud of dust. It just barely stopped in front of Qin Liang.

“Ah Le, what are you doing here?” Qin Liang walked down the boarding ladder.

“What am I doing here?”

“Hehe, what do you think I’m doing here?”

Tang Yunle’s voice was choked with tears, but it was also burning with anger. She rushed to the young man in a few steps, abruptly raised her hand, and clenched her fist.

“You liar!”

With a roar, her fist, carrying a gust of wind, smashed into Qin Liang’s cheek.

Qin Liang was caught off guard and staggered back.

But Tang Yunle didn’t stop there. She then grabbed his collar and glared at him fiercely.

“Why did you lie to me!”

“You’re clearly terminally ill, so why didn’t you tell me!”

“Aren’t we the closest people? Why didn’t you tell me!”

She raised her hand again, clenched it into a fist, but didn’t, and instead, she glared at the young man fiercely.

Qin Liang was slightly stunned.

“You know? Who told you? Didn’t I ask Big Sister Xiaolan and the others to have a unified story?” he murmured.

“I saw it in your suicide note! You asshole!!” Tang Yun’s mother.

She swung her fist!

Qin Liang subconsciously closed his eyes, but he didn’t feel any pain. Instead, his chest felt heavy. He opened his eyes and found the girl hugging his waist, her head pressed against his chest, sobbing.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Why!”

“Aren’t we the best friends in the world?”

She was in tears, and she choked, “We said that good brothers should share blessings and hardships, and help each other.”

“Asshole! Bad guy! Liar!!”

“I saw you as a good brother, but you lied to me!!”

She cried hard, her voice trembling.

The young man’s body stiffened. The hand on his side slowly raised. After a long hesitation, it finally landed gently on her trembling back.

“I’m sorry. I just didn’t want you to worry.”

At this point, he looked up at the three people who had come out of the plane cabin after hearing the commotion outside.

“Dad, Mom, bro, give me half an hour.”

The three of them agreed.

Qin Liang took the crying Tang Yunle in his arms and went to a shady open space.

The scorching sun cast a mottled shadow on Tang Yunle’s tear-streaked face.

She was still sobbing, her shoulders heaving, like a wronged little animal.

Qin Liang bent down slightly and awkwardly wiped the tears from her cheeks with his fingertips, but she turned her head away.

“Liar, don’t touch me,” her voice was thick with a nasal tone, but it was also stubborn.

“I hate you.”

The young man looked at her reddened eyes, suddenly sighed, and raised his hand to gently rub her hair.

This time, she didn’t dodge, but her shoulders were still trembling slightly.

“I’m very sorry I lied to you. I just hoped you wouldn’t worry about me. I’m sorry.”

“I know,” Tang Yunle sniffed.

“What’s the success rate of the surgery?”

Qin Liang was stunned for a moment, then replied.

Seventy percent.

“Then you’d better come back alive.”

“Hmm?”

“What, did you think I would cry and make a scene and have a big fight with you?”

Tang Yunle rubbed her reddened eyes and said with a smile, “I’m not the kind of little fairy in a TV drama who would make a scene regardless of the occasion.”

“I know what’s important now.”

“I hate you for lying to me, but now you have to come back alive first, so that I can settle the score with you later.”

Hearing this, Qin Liang’s lips curled into a smile.

“Thank you. When I come back, I will never lie to you again, about anything.”

After resolving the conflict, the two of them held hands and went to the plane. Tang Yunle slowly let go of his hand and watched as he turned and walked towards the boarding gate.

Qin Liang’s back was very long in the sunlight. He went up the boarding ladder, took a few steps, and then suddenly turned back.

He strode back, and before Tang Yunle could react, he leaned down slightly and sealed her lips with his.

Tang Yunle’s eyes widened. She stared blankly at Qin Liang, his tongue prying open her shell-like teeth and sliding in to stir.

Tang Yunle felt her head explode with a “boom.”

She was completely stunned on the spot, letting him kiss her forgetfully. It wasn’t until two minutes later, when she was about to suffocate from the kiss, that Qin Liang stopped.

“Although I know this is not very good, if I didn’t do this, if I really died, I wouldn’t be able to rest in peace even in the underworld.”

Qin Liang laughed loudly.

He looked at Tang Yunle and said fiercely, “Tang Yunle, if I come back alive, I’ll do this to you a hundred more times!”

“I don’t just want to be your good brother!”

After speaking, the young man turned and ran into the cabin.

Only Tang Yunle was left, alone.

She touched her still-hot lips, and her voice became lower.

“What an asshole. He’s actually so sexually repressed that he would lay a hand on his good brother.”

She looked up and looked at the young man with ice-blue pupils who was looking at her from the plane window.

She waved her small fist, a look of anger on her face. “Asshole, you sexually repressed pervert! If you come back alive!”

“I’ll f*cking kiss you back!!!”

The wind carried her words to the blue sky. The servants pulled Tang Yunle back. The plane was slowly taxiing to the runway, carrying the two’s unspoken promise, and rushed into the depths of the clouds.
