X
After an unknown amount of time, Tang Yunle woke up. She opened her eyes, and the glaring red made her squint.
Large red “double happiness” characters were pasted on the walls, and the quilt with a dragon and phoenix pattern was neatly laid out. A red candle in the corner was half-burnt, the wax dripping down the candlestick in a winding line.
She moved her fingers, and the rope on her wrist tightened. She looked down and found that her clothes had been changed into a large red groom’s ceremonial robe. The fabric was of good quality, and the collar was embroidered with an exquisite dark pattern, but the size was loose and hung loosely on her, clearly not fitting.
“Yo, the groom is awake?”
A sharp female voice exploded in her ear. Tang Yunle abruptly looked up and met a pair of small, cloudy eyes.
A fat woman, about thirty years old, with a fleshy face and a sneer at the corner of her mouth. There was not a trace of respect for a person in her eyes. On the contrary, it was as if she were sizing up a piece of livestock that had just arrived.
She walked to the bed in a few steps. Her fat body created a gust of wind, and a musky powder smell made Tang Yunle frown.
“Since you’re awake, stop playing dead,” the woman said, her hands on her hips, looking down at him. “Mr. Li said that as long as you obediently bow with Miss Li, you’ll be the young master of the Li family from now on, eating and drinking well.”
“If you don’t cooperate during the ceremony later…”
She suddenly leaned down, her fat face abruptly coming close to Tang Yunle’s, the spittle almost splashing on her face. “Mr. Li’s subordinates are all waiting outside the door. You can choose whether to have your legs broken or your arms dislocated.”
Tang Yunle’s throat was dry and sore. She stared at the crooked gold necklace on the woman’s neck and suddenly smiled.
Her laughter was crisp, pleasant, and melodious, like a warbler’s song, or like a white-throated laughingthrush singing in the mountains. The fat woman was stunned.
It was hard to imagine that this was the voice of a boy.
She was bewildered by the laughter. Just as she was about to scold her, she was coldly interrupted by Tang Yunle.
“Who are you? Where is this? Why am I here?”
The fat woman felt a little uncomfortable under her cold gaze. She pouted and stood up straight, patting the non-existent dust on her clothes. “It doesn’t matter who I am. You just have to remember that you have to call me Wang Sao from now on.”
“As for this place,” she looked around the glaringly red room, “this is the eldest young lady of the Li family’s new room. Your good parents took the Li family’s five hundred thousand yuan betrothal gift and sent you over to be Miss Li’s man. It’s that simple.”
At this point, a hint of contempt flashed across Wang Sao’s face, along with a bit of schadenfreude. “Although Miss Li is a little foolish, she’s still Mr. Li’s only daughter.”
“You’re a poor boy. You should be burning incense to have been able to climb this high branch—oh, right.”
As if she had suddenly remembered something, she leaned a little closer and lowered her voice. “Mr. Li said that you’re a poor student from a top-tier university, so your genes should be good. As long as you can get Miss Li pregnant, he’ll give you another five hundred thousand.”
“If it’s a boy, the Li family’s business will be yours in the future.”
These words were like a poisoned needle, piercing Tang Yunle’s heart fiercely.
Was this the family she had once longed for?
Hehe!
For five hundred thousand yuan, they had sold her off to be a breeding machine.
The red candle flame suddenly “crackled,” and another drop of wax fell, like a solidified bloodstain, and also like the last bit of affection and goodwill in her heart, completely burned out.
Seeing that she hadn’t said anything more, Wang Sao just thought she was scared silly. She sneered and turned to leave the new room.
Tang Yunle slowly looked up, the coldness in her eyes almost freezing all the red in the room.
She didn’t shout or scream, but just gently moved her wrist, which was sore from the rope, and then…
“Tang Yunke.”
“Sister, I’m here!”
A white shadow flashed, and a girl in a white lace dress, her calves wrapped in pure white long socks, was already standing by the bed.
She had long, dark hair that fell to her waist, and a bell was tied around her neck, which tinkled as she walked.
Tang Yunke blinked and looked around the red room. Her gaze fell on the hemp rope on Tang Yunle’s wrist. She gently flicked the knot with her slender fingers, and the rough hemp rope “clattered” and came loose.
“Tsk, tsk, sister actually got tied up on her way home. Our parents’ actions are really something else.”
“They even sold off their own son, oh no, their own daughter.”
“How long has it been?”
“Not long, just a day. I was just playing Street Fighter with brother-in-law just now. As soon as I heard sister call me, I teleported over.”
“Go out with me for a bit.”
Tang Yunle rubbed her reddened wrist, her knuckles white from the force. The cold air around her had almost solidified—it was clear that she was planning to go and settle the score immediately.
“Hey, hey, hey, don’t be in such a hurry,” Tang Yunke quickly reached out and held her down, her eyes rolling. She suddenly leaned a little closer. “Sister, do you want to experience the feeling of being saved by a hero? The super sweet kind.”
Tang Yunle raised her eyebrows, a hint of interest flashing in her eyes.
“No one knows a sister better than her own. Seeing her interested, Tang Yunke immediately snapped her fingers.”
The hemp rope that had just come loose seemed to have a life of its own. It “swooshed” and wrapped around Tang Yunle’s wrist again, even tighter than before.
“You stay here for now. I’ll go and find a ‘hero’.”
She added, “Remember to transfer me ten thousand yuan for my trouble afterwards. Thanks!”
Before her words had even faded, she had already disappeared.
Tang Yunle sat on the edge of the bed and looked down at the hemp rope that was wrapped around her wrist again. No one knows a sister better than her own. A hero, huh? Ah Liang was coming to save her.
Just like in the movies, to crash the wedding and snatch the bride. It seemed… quite sweet.
The red candle was still swaying, but in the oppressive atmosphere of the room, there seemed to be an indescribable emotion.
At the same time, dorm room 812.
After seeing the question, Tang Yunke suddenly disappeared and then suddenly returned. Qin Liang was just about to ask, but she was the first to speak.
“Brother-in-law, V me 10,000, and I’ll let you be a hero and save a beauty!
“By the way, the one you’re saving is my sister~~”
Qin Liang was not interested in the first sentence. Spend ten thousand yuan to play the hero and save a beauty? What was this for? To get Tang Yunle’s affection?
But he had no thoughts of a sister-in-law’s threesome. Tang Yunle as a wife, and Tang Yunke as a sister, that was enough.
However, the next sentence had hooked his interest.
Saving Tang Yunke’s sister, that is, Tang Yunle.
Tang Yunle needed saving?
Did something happen to Ah Le on her way home to visit her family?
Tang Yunle needed saving?
Did something happen to Ah Le on her way home to visit her family?
With the words “take me there,” Tang Yunke immediately got to work!
The wedding hall, with its high-burning red candles, was set up in a temporary courtyard on the outskirts of the city. Red lanterns were hung, and “double happiness” red characters were pasted. But the surroundings were excessively quiet, with an indescribable strangeness.
Mr. Li stood in the middle of the hall, his dark suit out of place in this ancient and elegant environment. He was holding a cigarette between his fingers, and amidst the swirling smoke, he was giving instructions to his subordinates in black suits about some of the trivial matters of the day.
Including the two of them, there were only five or six guests in the wedding hall.
After all, this was a forced marriage. It was said to be marrying off a daughter, but in reality, it was to find a “stud” for his foolish daughter. How could he dare to make such a thing public?
He hadn’t even invited his distant relatives, and had only left a few trusted subordinates to hold the fort.
“The groom is here~~~”
A deliberately raised shout broke the dead silence of the wedding hall.
Two burly men held Tang Yunle’s arms and brought her out of the new room.
Tang Yunle did not struggle, but just let them hold her, her gaze calm, sweeping over the absurd scene in the hall.
It’s okay. Ah Liang will come and save her.
A hero saving a beauty. The thought of it was a little exciting.
