Chapter 60: The Saintess’s Unlucky Day and the Eastern Sea Supermarket

With free labor at their disposal, why wouldn’t they take advantage? Furthermore, any future mishaps within the clan could easily be attributed to the Saintess.

A wave of despair washed over Xian Yuan, who, with a thousand unwilling sighs, could only don the Saintess’s ceremonial robes.

The King’s City Plaza.

Members of the Royal Dragon race had gathered there, for today was the day of their Saintess’s formal ascension.

As for how they knew, it was entirely due to Wang Zhe’s clone, who had delivered the news from the inn.

Many harbored doubts about the Saintess; the ancient inherited memories of the Royal Dragon race fueled a deep-seated dissatisfaction with humanity.

However, with the Dragon Venerable herself having spoken, it was indeed difficult to openly object.

Thus, they allowed Wang Zhe to proceed as she wished.

Before long, Wang Zhe arrived at the plaza, observing that over ten thousand Dragon race members had already converged there.

Standing beside Wang Zhe, clad in the Saintess’s ceremonial attire, Xian Yuan’s face was ashen, convinced that this was truly her unlucky day.

Yesterday, she had been inexplicably taken advantage of, and today, she was forced to become a Saintess.

She genuinely couldn’t fathom how she had fallen to such a plight; she had come to investigate the ecology of the cultivation world, yet somehow ended up entangled with this woman.

Wang Zhe surveyed all the Dragon race members present, then declared, “I announce that the new Saintess of the Royal Dragon race is—Xian Yuan!”

“Roar!”

All the Royal Dragon race members present roared in excitement; even though the Saintess was human, they still had to maintain appearances.

As for Leng Xi and Murong Fier, they were utterly bewildered.

Leng Xi couldn’t comprehend how Xian Yuan had ascended to such a high position in just one day; surely the Royal Dragon race’s criteria for selecting a Saintess couldn’t be that low?

Murong Fier, on the other hand, wondered what exactly the Royal Dragon race intended to do.

After all, for Xian Yuan to become the Saintess of the Ice Demon Dragon clan, she had to display her abilities to succeed.

Therefore, Murong Fier found the Royal Dragon race’s actions utterly perplexing.

Only the less intelligent Zhi Jiu seemed to find nothing amiss with the situation.

And so, Xian Yuan became the Saintess of the Royal Dragon race, commencing her official duties in the days that followed.

Early morning.

“Have you heard? The Saintess opened a shop on East City Avenue.”

“Heard about it, heard about it! I think it’s called the Eastern Sea Supermarket.”

“Yes, yes, yes, I went yesterday! The Saintess is so kind; she even gave us food.”

“That’s right, that’s right! Saintess-sama didn’t accept precious weapons; she only requested a few of my humble dragon scales.”

“How about we go together later?”

“Sounds good!”

The supermarket these Dragon maidens spoke of was precisely Xian Yuan’s brainchild.

To facilitate her investigations, Xian Yuan had Wang Zhe construct a large supermarket.

The price for this was that Xian Yuan had to sleep with Wang Zhe every day until she left King’s City.

East City Avenue.

Even before its official opening time, a throng of people had already gathered outside the Eastern Sea Supermarket.

Over the past few days of interaction, some had already begun to distinguish Xian Yuan and her companions from ordinary humans.

“Click…”

With a distinct click, the closed doors of the Eastern Sea Supermarket slowly swung open.

“It’s open!”

“Yay!”

Many Dragon race members rushed inside, unable to contain their impatience.

Second floor.

‘There are simply too many people,’ Xian Yuan, having just changed into a green silk dress, gazed at the crowd outside the window, a hint of distress clouding her features.

‘This was even more exaggerated than when she had become the Saintess of the Ice Demon Dragon clan.’

“Xian Yuan, come down and work!”

Murong Fier’s voice, drifting up from downstairs, carried a trace of resentment.

In the days since the Eastern Sea Supermarket’s opening, Murong Fier, Leng Xi, and Zhi Jiu had been coerced into acting as laborers.

Busy every single day, constantly helping Xian Yuan with her investigations, it would be truly demonic if they didn’t harbor a significant amount of resentment.

“Coming, coming,” Xian Yuan quickly freshened up, then turned to look at Wang Zhe, who lay exposed on her bed, and said, “It’s time to get up.”

“A Saintess shouldn’t kiss her superior, you know.”

Wang Zhe pulled the small blanket over herself, then continued to sleep.

“You don’t look like a noble lady at all; you’re more like a little girl,” Xian Yuan remarked.

“Noble lady? Little girl? What are you talking about?” Wang Zhe, confused, touched her silver-white hair, unsure what those words meant.

“Nothing.”

“Oh.”

Wang Zhe rolled over, sinking back into slumber.

“Fine then, I can’t be bothered with you.” Xian Yuan turned and headed downstairs.

‘A noble lady, could it be…’

Wang Zhe waved her delicate hand, and a black, leg-baring gown instantly appeared on her body.

Wang Zhe approached the mirror, complete with black high heels and a fox-marten fur stole, presenting the image of a refined lady.

Still, something was missing.

Wang Zhe released a wisp of her inherent aura of authority, crossed her arms over her chest, and a subtle smile graced her lips.

At this moment, Wang Zhe embodied the perfect noble lady; her exquisite beauty, coupled with that faint smile, softened her inherent aura of majesty, yet still invoked an instinct of submission in others.

Downstairs.

As more people entered, the supermarket quickly plunged into a bustling frenzy.

“Saintess, another one of these, please!”

“And this one, too!”

“I want this and this!”

“Saintess, I need a large bucket!”

“Saintess, do you have anything for prenatal care here?”

Dragon children and maidens marveled at the novelty of the goods, while Dragon wives sought prenatal care products.

“Everyone, please take your time,” Xian Yuan sat at the counter, answering questions and tallying purchases.

For the Royal Dragon race, scales were the best form of payment; on the opening day, Xian Yuan had used her technological spectacles to observe that their scales were composed of gold-elemental immortal stones!

Spirit stones served as the common currency of the Qiyuan Continent, but immortal stones were akin to pure gold!

Among the nine elemental immortal stones, the gold element was the most stable, with one gram of gold-elemental immortal stone equivalent to one hundred spirit stones.

A single dragon scale from a Royal Dragon race member weighed at least one to two kilograms.

‘She was rich, truly rich!’

Gazing at the incoming scales, Xian Yuan felt confident that achieving a small daily goal would be no problem at all from now on.

While Xian Yuan’s fantasies were delightful, reality was harsh: the Crow Feather Region possessed a complete legal system.

The Crow Feather Region’s Ministry of Finance: [What’s with these illegally flowing immortal stones? Arrest them! Arrest them!]

In a dark, sunless prison cell, Xian Yuan, clad in a black-and-white prisoner’s uniform, her eyes brimming with tears, could only silently hum “Iron Tears Through Bars” from behind the iron bars.

Back to the present.

Just as Xian Yuan was conducting business, several scruffy youths, dressed as Dragon race members, entered the supermarket.

“Boss, are you sure Big Sister-in-law is here?” one of the lackeys asked.

“Boss, can we see Big Sister-in-law?” another lackey chimed in.

The two spoke loudly, drawing the gazes of all the Dragon children and maidens present.

Meanwhile, in an aisle where a Dragon maiden was selecting snacks, the potato chips she had just picked up instantly slipped from her grasp and fell to the floor upon hearing their voices.

‘Why them again?’

The maiden’s body trembled slightly; for her, these individuals were undoubtedly her worst nightmare.

“You know them?” A Dragon maiden beside her asked, puzzled.

“No, I don’t know them. Let’s go,” the maiden replied with a faint smile.

“Okay, we’ll leave after we’re done shopping.”

The Dragon maiden harbored no suspicions.

At that moment, Xian Yuan also overheard the youths’ conversation.

“Boss, let’s go,” the second lackey said.
