Join the Server“En.” Xian Yuan nodded obediently, finding it perfectly normal for sisters to share such simple thoughts.
Shen Xiulan, however, harbored vastly different ideas; as she gazed at Xian Yuan, a faint blush crept across her cheeks. ‘Who said women couldn’t be together?’ she mused. ‘At worst, they could seek out the Star Palace or the Lily Saint Sect; even then, they could still have children!’
Unaware of the subtle flicker of desire in Shen Xiulan’s eyes, Xian Yuan remained oblivious.
“Tell me,” Shen Xiulan prompted, “how exactly did you manage to provoke the Flame Emperor and her cohorts? I imagine they were merely innocent maidens, their affections cruelly deceived by you.”
A playful glint in her eye, Shen Xiulan regarded Xian Yuan; more than anything, she yearned to know the true extent of Xian Yuan’s romantic conquests.
“A karmic entanglement, indeed,” Xian Yuan declared.
With a deliberate, theatrical sigh, Xian Yuan struck a pose, aiming to project the air of an otherworldly sage.
“Just be normal,” Shen Xiulan chided, a smile playing on her lips. “That ‘chuunibyou’ act is a sickness that needs curing.”
“Heh heh, do you know what dishes the Flame Emperor likes to eat?” Xian Yuan began, counting on her fingers. “Her Four Jade Maidens, for instance, each have their favorites: spicy and sour shredded potatoes, Mapo Tofu, boiled fish…” As she listed them, her eyes gleamed with increasing brightness.
“Don’t tell me you even know what kind of underwear the Flame Emperor prefers?” Shen Xiulan quipped, her expression a mix of ‘you’re an idiot’ and ‘how adorable’.
A flush of embarrassment spread across Xian Yuan’s face; she truly did know, which made the situation all the more awkward.
“So, what color are they?”
“Sister Xiulan, I must return to my cultivation now! Farewell!”
Xian Yuan promptly made her escape. This was, after all, a dark chapter in her past, and sharing such ‘black history’ was something Xian Yuan vehemently protested: ‘Please, not that!’
“Hey, wait for me…” Shen Xiulan called out, a knowing smile gracing her lips as she watched Xian Yuan’s retreating figure.

Months later, the Grand Competition of the Eastern Sea finally commenced, drawing the proudest talents from various sects to Eastheart Island.
Eastheart Island, once the main stronghold of the Eastern Sea Pavilion, had been reduced to a mere venue for the Eastern Sea factions’ written examinations after its destruction by the Green Lotus Sword God, Yun Yi.
Upon arriving at Eastheart Island, the various factions settled into local inns, conserving their energy and preparing for the trials ahead.
“Senior Sister, this Eastheart Island is truly not bad,” He Xiaomeng remarked.
He Xiaomeng, with Xian Yuan and a few others, was currently navigating the bustling market, her eyes sparkling with delight at the sight of the abundant street food.
“You should eat a little less,” Ye Zhiqu cautioned. “Be careful not to overeat before tomorrow’s grand assembly, or you might just lose because you’re too full.”
As the second senior sister, Ye Zhiqu’s lips curved into a slight smile as she observed the antics of her junior brothers and sisters.
“That’s not right, Second Senior Sister,” He Xiaomeng retorted. “This is called eating our fill so we can work hard!”
“It’s a pity Senior Sister didn’t come. Otherwise, she’d be eating with us too.”
He Xiaomeng promptly devoured a skewer of grilled squid.
“Don’t overeat.”
“I won’t, I won’t!”
Yet, as if by some decree of spoken word, He Xiaomeng immediately choked on her food the very next moment.
“Cough, cough, cough…”
A wave of amusement rippled through the group as they watched He Xiaomeng suddenly choke.
“I never expected Xiaomeng to choke,” Xian Yuan chuckled.
Xian Yuan said, a smile gracing her lips, though truly, it was He Xiaomeng’s own gluttony to blame.
“Of course, Senior Sister isn’t here; she’s still cultivating for the Grand Competition of the Eastern Sea, after all.”
Ye Zhiqu glanced at the choking He Xiaomeng, muttering to herself, ‘If Senior Sister were like you, Heavenly Gate Island would be doomed.’
Witnessing He Xiaomeng’s discomfited expression, Li Yuwei burst into uproarious laughter beside her.
“Hahaha… that’s hilarious, hahaha…”
Seeing Xian Yuan and the others mock her, He Xiaomeng pouted her lips, glared at them, and stomped off in the other direction.
“Hey, Senior Sister, shouldn’t we follow her?” Li Yuwei asked.
“Let her go,” Xian Yuan replied, “though it truly was amusing.”
Xian Yuan, too, let out a laugh; He Xiaomeng’s flustered appearance just moments ago had indeed been utterly comical.
“Hehe, Xiaomeng must be mad at us,” Li Yuwei giggled. “Let’s go!”
Li Yuwei then grabbed Xian Yuan’s hand and chased after her.
“Wait for me, you two, and don’t fall!” Ye Zhiqu called out, reminding them.
However, Xian Yuan and Li Yuwei seemed not to hear her, continuing their pursuit of He Xiaomeng.

Meanwhile, on another street, a man in a green robe, casually fanning himself, had just emerged from a brothel. A look of utter contentment graced his face, clearly indicating he had just indulged himself, and a few subservient followers trailed behind him.
“Those girls were quite delightful,” the green-robed man purred.
The green-robed man licked his lips, still appearing unsatisfied, while his sycophantic lackeys nodded vigorously in fawning agreement.
“Boss is truly mighty and imposing!”
“We are utterly impressed!”
A satisfied smile spread across the green-robed man’s face upon hearing his lackeys’ flattery. His name was Lu Buchun, the grandson of the Grand Elder of Heavenly Chosen Palace, the second-largest power in the Eastern Sea. Blessed with exceptional talent and accustomed to bullying others through his influence, he had dared to come to Eastheart Island to participate in the competition.
“Still, brothel women are just brothel women,” Lu Buchun sighed, “lacking a certain… flavor.”
He sighed, as if regretting something profound.
The very next moment, however, his eyes caught sight of Xian Yuan and her companions dashing through the bustling market.
“These women… excellent! Absolute beauties!”
Lu Buchun’s eyes lit up instantly; he had already recognized the identity of Xian Yuan and her group.
They were adorned in the disciple robes of Heavenly Gate Island.
Though Lu Buchun was a profligate, arrogant, and unrestrained individual, he never engaged in battles he wasn’t confident of winning. Consequently, upon spotting Xian Yuan, he did not rush to make a move. Instead, he discreetly trailed her and her companions, biding his time for an opportune moment.
