Chapter 96: Young Man, Please Don’t Go Down the Path of Crime!

Lin Yu saw Luo Shaotian take a step forward.

“Oh? Kid, got guts huh? At a time like this you’re still thinking about playing the hero and saving the beauty?”

Seeing this, Wang-ge didn’t show even a trace of fear. Instead, Luo Shaotian’s reaction actually amused him.

He pulled out a steel pipe from behind his waist and tapped it lightly against his palm, producing dull, threatening pa pa sounds.

“Come on then, let us brothers see—how exactly do you plan on saving her?”

The surrounding thugs also began pulling out their own “toys” from behind their backs or under their clothes.

Rusted wrenches, metal baseball bats—
And even heavy padlocked chains.

Step by step, they slowly pulled the already-tight circle inwards.

A dozen men.
A dozen pairs of malicious, hungry eyes.
All locked onto Luo Shaotian.

Luo Shaotian didn’t look back. He only leaned toward Lin Yu’s ear and whispered:

“Give me a few minutes.”

Then he stepped forward, unhurried, calm, walking straight toward that ring of jeering, weapon-wielding thugs.

Lin Yu stared at his back, and a wave of dread washed over her.

……

She could feel it clearly—
The “thing” inside Luo Shaotian, the one the inhibitors had forcibly buried—
was waking up.

His footsteps were steady, casual, as if he were just strolling through his backyard.

“Oh ho? Walking straight in?”

“Alright, this brat… doesn’t even try to run, just walks straight up to die?”

“Tsk tsk, rare chance for Wang-ge to be merciful and let you kneel and apologize, and you still don’t appreciate it?”

Their heckling buzzed like flies in the night.

Finally, Luo Shaotian stopped—less than three meters from Wang-ge.

His lips curved into a cold smile.

“If I don’t get close…
how am I supposed to beat the living shit out of you?”

The words weren’t loud, but every thug froze half a second.

And then—

Explosive laughter.

“Hahahahahaha! Beat us? Did I f*cking hear that right?!”

A yellow-haired punk nearest him laughed so hard he bent over, tears coming out.

He pointed his bat at his own face.

“Come on! Hit me! Where you gonna hit? Right here! Come the f*ck on!”

He slapped his own “punch-me” face hard.

“Do it! Get closer! I dare you!”

Wang-ge also didn’t expect that even at a time like this, the pretty boy still had a smart mouth.

He laughed so hard the fat on his face bunched together into a grotesque mask.

“Good, good, good!”

He said “good” three times, then jammed the steel pipe into the ground with a crisp clang.

“Kid, I like your guts.”

Then he suddenly waved his hand and roared with a voice sharp enough to tear his throat:

“What the f*ck are you standing there for?!”

“Go! Cripple him for me!!”

The moment the words left his mouth, the thugs rushed in like a pack of rabid dogs.

The fight erupted instantly.

“BANG—!”

No one knew whose attack came first.
Luo Shaotian didn’t dodge.

A heavy steel pipe slammed into his left shoulder with a sickening thud, making him stagger.

The thugs’ sneering faces widened with triumph.

But nobody noticed—

At the moment of impact, deep in Luo Shaotian’s eyes, a dark, ominous light ignited.

Pain—

A pain he hadn’t felt in a long time—
like a spark—
instantly lit the powder keg in his blood.

The instincts suppressed by inhibitors burst free like a tiger shattering its cage, overrunning the fragile dam called “reason.”

In his ears, that familiar, seductive whisper—the devil’s hymn—echoed again:

(…Yes. Like that…)
(…Feel the rage…)
(…Tear them apart…)

“ROAAAAAAR——!!!!!!!”

A violent bellow exploded out of him.

And then—he moved.

Fast.
Too fast for Lin Yu’s enhanced vision to even fully track.

He sidestepped, grabbed the attacker’s steel pipe—

And in the next heartbeat, with the thug still staring in shock—

SNAP—!!!!!!

He bent the solid steel weapon in half with his bare hands.

Then he rammed the jagged half-piece straight into another thug’s thigh.

“SPLURT—!”

“AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH—!!!”

Blood sprayed.
A scream more like a trapped animal than a human ripped across the abandoned site.

Everything happened so fast, the thugs who were laughing a second ago still hadn’t processed what they were witnessing.

And that—
was only the beginning.

Luo Shaotian lowered his center of gravity, like a predator finally free—
then leapt straight into the forest of swinging weapons and curses.

He became violence itself.

“BAM!”

A punch connected with someone’s jaw.
The crack of shattering bone rang out.
The man flopped backwards, unconscious before he hit the ground.

“CRACK!”

A backward elbow strike landed on someone’s ribs.
The thug folded like a boiled shrimp, collapsing and vomiting.

A third thug swung a chain lock at him, wind whistling—
Luo Shaotian didn’t even dodge.

The chain smashed across his back with a heavy THUD.

He turned around, eyes feral—

And bit the man’s ear clean off.

“RRRIP—!”

A wet tearing sound.
A half-ear flew in an arc and splashed into a muddy puddle.

“Ehehehe… HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”

Luo Shaotian was enjoying this.

He slammed the one-eared man to the ground.

“Go on! Pick it up! Pick your ear up!!”

The remaining thugs, though technically “street-tough,” froze in horror at the madman before them.

Behind the cart, Lin Yu panicked.

“No no no…”

“I have to stop him!”

If this continued—
he would kill someone.

Legally it counted as self-defense, sure.
But if he actually killed someone—
would Luo Shaotian ever come back?

She had worked so hard—
cuteness sacrificed, suppressants injected—
was everything about to collapse today?

“No, no… I… I have to call my sister!”

Hands shaking, she opened her contract bracelet and frantically dialed.

But Lin Xue’s avatar was gray.

“Pick up the phone!!”

She dialed again and again—
only for the cold “line unavailable” message to repeat.

“…You little demon… where the hell did you go at a time like this…”

She slumped against the cart, helpless.

She didn’t know how long she zoned out.

When she looked up again, the fight had ended.

The shadows of the construction site, a few minutes ago a storm of chaos—
were now littered with bodies like discarded broken dolls.

All of them were groaning in pain, sprawled in twisted poses.
None could stand.

In the center of the carnage stood Luo Shaotian.

His chest rose and fell violently.
His expensive black shirt was torn open.

Warm blood covered his face and body.

He looked like a demon that had just crawled up from Hell’s blood pool.

In front of him—
the last man still “intact.”

Wang-ge.

The instigator of this whole mess was now completely terrified.

He had collapsed onto the ground, trembling like a leaf in the wind.

The smell of piss wafted from his soaked pants.

Scrambling backward, he stared at the “devil” approaching with wide, broken eyes.

“You—you—young man! Please—please don’t be impulsive!!”

“You look so handsome! So young! So promising!”

“You mustn’t ruin your future by taking one wrong step onto the criminal path!!”

As Luo Shaotian kept coming closer, Wang-ge actually burst into loud sobs.

“Don’t—don’t come! I was wrong! Brother! Grandpa!! I was wrong!! I’ll never do it again!!”

He slapped himself repeatedly, his giant hands cracking against his face louder than the steel pipe had earlier.

“It’s me! I was blind! I talked shit! I shouldn’t have provoked you! And I sure as hell shouldn’t have offended the fairy-like, peerless, heavenly—grandma—standing next to you!!”

Nearby, one thug with a broken leg called out weakly:

“Wang… Wang-ge… Didn’t you say… the Master… was coming? Where… where is he?!”

“How the f*ck should I know?!”

Wang-ge sobbed hysterically.

“They said they sent the ‘Master’ to back me up, but I didn’t even f*cking see him!!”

“Wrench?”
“Master?”

At those words, Luo Shaotian suddenly froze mid-step.

The burning black fire in his eyes shifted—
into a colder, sharper light.

He strode forward, grabbed Wang-ge by the collar, and lifted his huge body like a chick.

“Wrench? Master?”

“…You people… are from the Red City (ChiCheng) Gang!?”
