In Lin Yu’s life, there were always two distinct worlds.
One was his plain, ordinary civilian life.
The other—the explosive, chaotic battlefield of his job.
When he went to work, she was a magical girl.
When he clocked out, he was just a deadbeat middle-aged uncle.
And even though a lot had happened recently, he still stubbornly kept the two worlds from touching.
Especially—he absolutely could NOT allow his family to ever step into the shame-inducing domain of his job.
So when his little sister suddenly appeared here…
His entire brain simply shut down.
“You… y-you you you… Wh-why are you here?!”
Lin Yu pointed at his sister, his finger trembling like a faulty antenna.
“This is Aurora Corporation’s internal cafeteria! A restricted zone! How did a civilian like you get in? Where are the guards?! What are the guards even doing?!”
“Will you quit making that ‘I just saw a ghost’ face? You’re embarrassing yourself.”
His sister stood with one hand on her hip, completely unimpressed.
“And why can’t I come? I’m part of the Ruikang Pharma delegation today.”
“…Delegation?”
“Yeah. My senior colleagues are here to discuss Phase-1 procurement of your company’s psionic suppressants.”
Lin Xue brushed aside a strand of hair.
“I just finished signing some documents with your higher-ups. On the way out, I figured I should stop by and check on a certain someone who never stops worrying people. And as soon as I walked into the cafeteria, guess what I saw?”
Her eyes narrowed.
“I saw you, crawling all over the floor chasing a rabbit like an idiot.”
Lin Yu’s face flushed hot.
His little sister was already important enough to sit with corporate executives…
And he was… on all fours chasing a bunny.
“O-oh… so that’s why you’re here…”
“Mhm.”
Lin Xue’s gaze drifted down to the white puffball trapped under her shoe.
“…And this is?”
Lin Yu scowled.
“…A damn animal. Be careful. When it goes crazy, even I get punched.”
“Punch people?”
Lin Xue raised an eyebrow, clearly doubting that this fluffy plush-toy-looking creature had any violent tendencies.
“If you don’t believe me, just stomp on it harder.”
Lin Yu encouraged her with malicious enthusiasm.
Deep down, he was hoping the rabbit would give her a taste of its bad temper—so she’d understand how unreasonable it was.
Lin Xue hesitated.
Then she lightly increased the pressure of her foot, pressing down on that soft, marshmallow-like belly.
Lin Yu held his breath.
But—
Guu~
What followed was a scene that shattered every expectation.
The rabbit, which earlier had dared to hit its own master, did not fight back at all.
Instead, it melted instantly—flattening itself against the floor in absolute submission.
Its fluffy tail instinctively curled around Lin Xue’s ankle, and it even nuzzled its little head against her calf—right where the black stockings hugged her skin.
The red gemstone eyes that looked at Lin Yu with cold disdain?
Now filled with shameless flattery.
Pure, unfiltered adoration.
It was obscene.
Lin Yu’s temples throbbed wildly.
“I—what the hell?! You’ve got two different personalities now?!”
“Just now, I step on you and you act like I’m killing you, but she steps on your tail and you ENJOY it?! Are you broken?!”
Before he could continue yelling, Lin Xue lifted her foot and the bunny hopped away.
“You—!”
Lin Yu had just taken one big step to catch it and skin it alive when—
“Um… excuse me?”
A curious voice drifted from behind.
Lin Yu turned—
And saw Li Qing standing there, at some unknown moment having wandered over.
Her fox-like eyes shifted between Lin Yu and Lin Xue, quickly piecing the situation together.
She first examined Lin Xue from head to toe:
A calm, poised, elegant aura.
Then she glanced at Lin Yu:
Who radiated “permanently bullied middle manager.”
Li Qing’s expression formed the words “The case is solved.”
“Um… may I ask,”
She said cautiously, with the respectful tone one uses for a refined older woman,
“Are you… Lin Yu’s older sister?”
Not her fault.
Lin Xue’s outfit and aura were mature and composed—she looked like a capable elite professional.
Compared to her, Lin Yu really did look like someone who needed adult supervision.
“C-cough…”
Lin Yu immediately jumped in.
“Li Qing-senpai, let me introduce you.
This is Lin Xue, representative from Ruikang Pharma…
And also my—younger sister.”
He put extra emphasis on “younger.”
Then he turned to Lin Xue and tried not to look like he wanted to evaporate.
“Xiaoxue, this is Li Qing… one of our senior colleagues in District A. She… uh… looks after me at work.”
“Oh—so she’s your actual younger sister!”
Li Qing clapped her hands together in realization.
Then, like discovering a new treasure, she bounced toward Lin Xue and grabbed her hands with unrestrained enthusiasm.
“Hello!! I’m Li Qing! You can call me Qing-jie! Wow, you two siblings really look alike! Especially the eyes—they’re both so pretty!”
“Hello, Miss Li Qing.”
Facing Li Qing’s energy, Lin Xue remained calm and elegant.
She gave a polished, professional smile—
The kind born from years of workplace diplomacy—
And extended her hand for a polite handshake.
“I’m Lin Xue. Nice to meet you.”
She paused, flicked a subtle glance toward her tense brother, and added with a half-smile:
“This useless brother of mine… he must’ve caused trouble for you at work, hasn’t he?”
“Ah, no no no!”
Li Qing waved both hands energetically.
“Your brother looks a little silly most of the time… but when things get serious, he’s actually very reliable!”
“Really? What a surprise.”
“Hey hey hey—what do you mean by that?! Don’t look down on your brother!”
Lin Yu protested weakly.
“Hehe…”
Lin Xue chuckled softly and continued:
“But truly, knowing he has someone as lively and dependable as you looking after him… I feel relieved. After all, from young, I’ve always worried he wouldn’t know how to blend into a workplace full of girls…”
She said this naturally, as if talking about any normal company.
But to Li Qing—
‘a workplace full of girls’
Her fox-eyes narrowed instantly, capturing the key phrase.
She leaned toward Lin Yu, whispering:
“Hey, senpai…
Your sister… knows you’re a magical girl?
Knows you transform with a frilly skirt?”
The moment she said it, Lin Yu froze like an overcooked dumpling.
He coughed, eyes wandering nervously to the cafeteria ceiling.
“Ahem… uh… yeah. Last time something happened and… she found out by accident.”
Li Qing’s expression shifted spectacularly—
Shock → smirk → full teasing mode.
She turned back to Lin Xue.
“Haha… since you already know, I’ll be honest. For your brother—a nearly-thirty grown man—doing this job is indeed pretty embarrassing, right? Surrounded by girls, wearing… you know. That.”
She jerked her chin at Lin Yu dramatically.
“He’s famous in the company for being shy. So please, as his sister—help him guard this secret. It’s the last bit of dignity he has as a man!”
“Of course.”
Lin Xue nodded earnestly.
“This kind of family disgrace—I’d never let it spread. Otherwise, how’s he supposed to find a girlfriend?”
She paused, giving Lin Yu a “problem child” look.
“And especially—under NO circumstances can Mom and Dad find out. If Dad sees him like this? With his temper? He might actually break his legs.”
“C-cough cough cough—!!”
Lin Yu couldn’t take it anymore.
He dragged his sister aside and hissed:
“Xiaoxue! My dear ancestral auntie! Can we NOT talk about breaking legs?! Didn’t you say you still have official business? Can we—please—talk about that?! And if not I’ll just leave okay?!”
“What’s the hurry?”
Lin Xue brushed his hand off as if flicking away dust, calmly fixing her sleeve.
She watched his anxious expression with clear amusement.
When she felt she had teased him enough, she finally adopted her businesslike tone again.
“Actually… there is a matter.”
She paused, eyes turning meaningful.
“On my way here… one of your friends somehow got my contact information and called me.”
“Friend…?”
Lin Yu froze.
“…I have friends? Besides you guys?”
“Yes.”
Lin Xue’s lips curved.
She slowly said the identity:
“That… police officer.”
Hiss——
The word police made every hair on Lin Yu stand up.
“L-Luo… Luo Shaotian?! How does he have your number?! I never told him! I swear!!”
“Brother, you’re way too naïve.”
Lin Xue sighed like she was lecturing a child.
“He’s a detective. A very competent one. If he wants to investigate your social relations, you think your contact network can hide from him? Tracking me down was trivial.”
“Th-then… w-what did he want with you?!”
Lin Yu panicked, grabbing her shoulders with shaking hands.
“He didn’t… find out my identity, did he?!”
