Chapter 110: Not Afraid

BOOM————!!!

Along with the thud of something massive hitting the ground, Wrench’s huge body collapsed, kicking up a cloud of filthy dust.

H–Hall Master?!

Every Red City Gang member present was stunned.

Just a second ago, their Hall Master had been radiating dominance—
and the next moment, he fell?

No…

That was—

The enemy!

The female demon!

The female demon has broken in!!!

Terror spread like a viral outbreak.

These men were the elite veteran craftsmen of the West Hall—
street-war hardened “Red Blossoms” who had survived countless bloody clashes.

But their drug-boosted, modification-fueled courage—
was as fragile as thin paper in the face of a force they could not comprehend.

Their instincts screamed at them to run—
but a small shadow in the darkness had already aimed a gun at them.

The Xiaoguang-7 Psionic Assault Rifle
once the weapon of the magical girl Red Fox.

Now, with Red Fox’s increased strength and changed role, she rarely used it anymore.

But at this moment, in the hands of another senior magical girl,
this pink-painted standard rifle bared its fangs once more.

DADADADADADADA————!!!

A psionic weapon in full-auto mode was terrifying beyond belief!

The psionic rounds flew like a blue whip—
a single sweep was enough to cut an enemy in half.

SPLITCH! SPLITCH! SPLITCH—!!!

The sound of flesh being pierced at high speed filled the room.

A thug’s chest was instantly shredded into a sieve,
his body flung backward like a rag by the sheer kinetic force.

Another tried to duck behind a construction vehicle—
but the high-penetration psionic rounds pierced him and the door panel,
nailing him to the side of the truck.

Two… three… four…

Splitch—— Splitch—— Splitch——!!!

Not even ten seconds passed.

When the shrieking fire finally ceased,
the entire room had become a slaughterhouse.

Only one person remained standing.

The craftsman who had first spotted Lin Yu.

His eyes contained nothing but terror—
the viciousness that had once filled them was long gone, replaced only by a blank stare.

His proud mechanical arm was now just half a stump,
crackling weakly with pathetic sparks.

He tried to run, but his legs were nailed in place by fear.

He could even feel his bladder—
losing control from the fright—
emptying warm liquid down his pants.

The dripping noises were painfully clear in the dead silence.

“Gulp…”

He swallowed hard.

His gaze locked on the gray-haired girl slowly approaching through a floor littered with severed limbs.

That cute, cartoonish face—
was as cold as falling snow.

Lin Yu didn’t shoot him.

Not because she didn’t want to—
but because the psionic magazine had overheated, forcibly locked itself, and was cooling down.

If she fired again, it would explode.

“No matter.”

There was only one target left anyway.

She released the rifle, letting it hang from her tactical sling.
Her right hand reached for the dagger strapped to her thigh.

Click.

The sound of the blade leaving its sheath was painfully crisp.

Tap, tap, tap…

Her uniform shoes stepped through warm, sticky blood,
each step making a wet, viscous sound.

These footsteps should have belonged to a school hallway—
but now, they became the countdown to the gates of hell.

The old craftsman’s mind finally snapped.

“D-Don’t… don’t come closer…”

He stared at the gray-haired witch walking out of a sea of blood, babbling in terror:

“I—I was wrong… I surrender! Hero! Goddess! Please… don’t—don’t kill me…”

Lin Yu didn’t slow down.

When they were less than a step apart,
her figure vanished from his sight.

He felt a breeze—then a cold silver flash cut across his vision.

“Uh—”

His pupils dilated. He tried to scream—
but his vocal cords were severed.
Only a rasping “hghh… hhh…” came from his throat.

Arterial blood sprayed outward, a warm mist splashing across Lin Yu’s face
and blooming red across her uniform.

“Ugh, disgusting…”

Lin Yu frowned in irritation.

“Nnn—”

As blood drained, the man collapsed like a pile of rotten mush,
his body twitching weakly on instinct alone.

To stop any final noises, Lin Yu stepped forward.

She lifted her foot—
and crushed down onto his mouth, forcing all his sobs and whimpers
back into his throat.

“Nn… gghh… gku…”

The man whimpered in humiliation, his limbs splashing weakly in the blood.

Finally, after one last twitch, his body fell completely still.

Lin Yu withdrew her foot slowly, staring expressionlessly at the still-twitching corpse.

She raised a hand, wiping a smear of slowly-drying blood from her cheek.

Warm. Sticky.

She stared at it for a moment, and suddenly—

Something felt strange.

Strange?

Just now… what happened to me?

Why wasn’t I scared or nervous at all?

She thought back carefully.

From infiltration, to shooting, to the final close-range kill—
she had remained terrifyingly calm.

Same as when she killed Wu Jianguo.

She had thought she would panic, vomit, have nightmares.

But no.

Nothing.

Why…?

Is the magical girl’s body subtly altering my mind?

Or has the contamination of curiosity already—

Before she could think further, a strong sense of wrongness snapped her focus back to reality.

Right—

She spun around sharply—
her gaze locking onto the unmoving “final target.”

Wrench!

She quickly approached, squatted down, and grabbed the broken head.

The moment she touched it, every hair on her body stood up.

What she felt beneath her fingertips—
was metal.

“What’s going on?”

She lifted the head under the flickering light—
and finally saw it clearly.

It wasn’t a human head at all.

The bullet hole showed only a cluster of severed circuits inside.

“—A robot?!”

She shouted in shock.

Suddenly—

Zzzlaaa—

After a burst of static, the huge black monitor on the wall lit up!

Snowy interference flickered, then—

A face appeared.

A face covered by an industrial respirator.

Beneath the goggles, two ominous red glows stared at her
with a cat-and-mouse amusement.

It was Wrench.

The real Wrench.

Tap, tap, tap…

A synchronized set of footsteps echoed from the entrance.

Lin Yu looked up—her pupils shrank violently.

From the darkness ahead, dozens of crimson mechanical eyes lit up.

One after another, modified cyborgs stepped forward from the shadows—
surrounding her completely.

“Heh heh…”

Wrench’s distorted voice boomed from the speakers.

“Heh… hehehe… scared the hell outta me for a second.”

The voice carried a trace of lingering fear—
but quickly twisted into wild laughter.

“Not bad, little girl! You really got some bite!
That shot almost blew my damn brains out! Hahahahaha—!”

“But what a pity.”

“You think I’m like that show-off idiot Long Aotian?
Ever since you damn female demons broke into my old base three years ago
and killed me without even letting me understand how—
I installed a little… insurance.”

“You think you killed me?
That was a military-grade tactical decoy I spent half a year’s salary buying off the black market—
just to fish out reckless brats like you!”

The burning red lights on the screen locked onto Lin Yu.

“Now it’s my turn.”

“Welcome, little wildcat…
to my slaughter workshop.”

“And welcome—
to becoming the most eye-catching piece on my wall…”

“—my new specimen!”
