Chapter 26: A Sister’s Disbelief and a Brother’s Revelation

“You’re… Xiao Luo?”

Even though Liu Xingluo had forewarned her about the transformation, Liu Ruyan couldn’t help but voice her disbelief the moment she saw her younger brother morph into a woman she didn’t recognize in the slightest.

“Indeed, it’s me, Big Sister. Your very own younger brother, Liu Xingluo. I understand this is difficult to grasp, but it’s the undeniable truth. I assumed this form, then unleashed havoc, utterly annihilating every single one of those alien beasts.”

As he spoke, Liu Xingluo began to move his body, vividly demonstrating how he had ‘unleashed his unparalleled might’ (TL Note: A gaming term, ‘kai wushuang,’ referring to a character becoming overwhelmingly powerful and effortlessly defeating hordes of enemies) amidst the throngs of alien beasts.

“It is indeed difficult to swallow. And tell me, Xiao Luo, have you truly transformed into a complete girl? Even in *those* two areas?”

Despite Liu Xingluo having displayed this transformation technique right before her eyes, Liu Ruyan still harbored doubts that he could morph from a man into a woman in mere moments. Such a feat defied all scientific understanding; even the awakening of superpowers couldn’t possibly induce such monumental physical changes.

“Well, I haven’t actually checked that part yet. Back then, I was too preoccupied battling the alien beasts to even consider verifying it. Let me just take a look…”

“Wait, Xiao Luo.”

Just as Liu Xingluo was about to investigate if her body had indeed become fully feminine, Liu Ruyan swiftly intervened to stop her.

“What is it, Big Sister? Didn’t you just ask me to confirm?”

“I did say that, yes, but let’s reconsider for the moment. This is a hospital, after all, hardly the appropriate venue for such an examination.”

Had they been at home or in some secluded, private location, Liu Xingluo’s actions would have been perfectly fine. However, this was a hospital, a public space! If she were to do something like that here and be seen, Liu Xingluo’s life as a girl would be irrevocably ruined. Liu Ruyan could not possibly allow such a catastrophe to unfold! Thus, she had to halt her immediately.

“Fine, a hospital is indeed quite improper for such an act. Hmm?”

Catching sight of her reflection in the windowpane, Liu Xingluo finally beheld her transformed self. During her initial metamorphosis, she had been deep underground, devoid of mirrors or any reflective surfaces, and utterly preoccupied with battle, leaving no leisure to observe her altered form.

Now, however, she could fully indulge in admiring the beauty of her transformed self.

Yet, Liu Xingluo wasn’t truly in the mood to admire her own beauty. A far more startling realization overshadowed her striking appearance.

Long, waist-length white hair, luminous purple pupils. This was unmistakably the dying girl he had encountered earlier! Her current appearance was an exact replica of that girl’s.

A moment’s thought, however, quickly brought clarity to the matter. Her current form was a direct result of that bracelet, which, in all likelihood, had been placed on her wrist by the very same dying girl. Thus, her identical appearance to the girl was hardly a cause for astonishment.

[‘Your body, I shall borrow it for now.’]

She distinctly recalled hearing that phrase while unconscious. So, that was its true meaning? Yet, from every angle, it appeared as though the girl had, in fact, lent *her* body to Liu Xingluo.

“What is it, Xiao Luo? Is there something outside the window? You’ve been staring out for a while.”

“Oh? No, nothing at all. I was simply admiring my transformed self. After all, I’m even more stunning than Big Sister now, wouldn’t you agree?”

While a part of her wondered why that girl would lend her body to Liu Xingluo, the fact remained that it had been lent. Therefore, it was her prerogative to utilize this body however she saw fit, was it not? With that settled, Liu Xingluo decided to fully appreciate her current form, which was now even more beautiful than her sister, a professional model.

“Oh, please. Already so full of yourself, are we?”

“It’s not conceit; it’s simply the truth. See? Not just my face, but even my figure is significantly superior to yours, Big Sister. Hmmph~”

Liu Xingluo then struck a provocative pose, one she seemed to have picked up from who-knew-where, to flaunt her now remarkably alluring figure.

While her words were undeniably true—the current Liu Xingluo possessed not only a striking face but also an impressive figure, even when highlighted by ill-fitting clothes—this undeniable truth still thoroughly annoyed Liu Ruyan. Her insolent younger brother had grown far too arrogant; surely it was only proper for her, as the elder sister, to put her in her place.

Bang!

Snatching a slipper, she swatted it against Liu Xingluo’s forehead. After a pained cry of [‘Ouch!’], Liu Xingluo instinctively clutched the freshly struck spot, just as she always did.

It appeared that even with her transformation into a girl and the acquisition of formidable combat prowess capable of pummeling alien beasts, Liu Xingluo remained, in Liu Ruyan’s eyes, nothing more than her exasperating younger brother.

“Alright, enough fooling around. Get back in bed and rest. If you keep moving, your stamina will… Wait? Xiao Luo, you can move?”

Only then did Liu Ruyan finally grasp the situation. It seemed Liu Xingluo could move about freely ever since her transformation, no longer confined to the bed.

“Oh… you’re right. In this form, I can move my body without issue. But if I revert, I suspect I’ll be back to being bedridden.”

Liu Xingluo found this outcome unsurprising. After all, this body wielded the power to slay alien beasts; its stamina was undoubtedly far superior to her original, ordinary human physique.

“Then… perhaps you should just maintain this form? No, that won’t do either. This is a hospital; if the doctors were to see you like this, they’d never believe it. But if you change back, you’ll be confined to bed once more. Sigh.”

Even Liu Ruyan, usually so composed, found herself at a complete loss.

When Liu Ruyan had admitted Liu Xingluo to the hospital, he had still been in his original male form. Keeping her hospitalized in her current feminine guise was simply unworkable; it would inevitably draw the attention of the doctors and potentially invite unwanted complications or individuals. Moreover, in her girl form, Liu Xingluo had no medical need for hospitalization whatsoever. Yet, if she were to revert, though she could remain an inpatient, Liu Xingluo would once again lack the stamina to care for herself.

“Hmm. Alright, then, Big Sister. I’ll revert first, and you can proceed with my discharge paperwork. Once we’ve left the hospital and are safely home, I’ll transform back into this. That way, we can avoid disrupting our lives and drawing any undue attention.”

It wasn’t as if her transformation was irreversible. Liu Xingluo could now freely switch between her male and female forms, rendering such a predicament easily solvable.

“That could work. Very well, let’s proceed as you’ve suggested.”

After a moment of contemplation, she concluded that Liu Xingluo’s plan might indeed be viable. Thus, she resolved to follow her advice.
