“Get out of my way. You’re nothing but defective products who can only fight on the power your mother granted you. I don’t have time to waste on you.”
To Jidi, these Superhumans who had suddenly appeared and ruined her plans were nothing but an eyesore. If it had been before, she might have played with them for a while. But now, she had serious business to attend to, and no time for games.
“Waste time on us? Then we’ll make sure to waste your time! You’ve already killed so many of our comrades—why should we just step aside because you tell us to?”
Hearing Jidi’s words, which completely dismissed them, the Superhumans felt insulted. Wasn’t every one of them a hero admired by all? Being looked down upon like this was a first, and what made it worse was that it came from their archenemy—an Evolved Beast. Now, more than ever, they were determined to confront Jidi and make her understand that humans were no mere ants by the roadside.
“Be careful. Her strength is unlike any Evolved Beast you’ve encountered. She’s terrifyingly powerful—not someone you can defeat. If possible, create a chance to escape and run as soon as you can.”
With reinforcements arriving, Liu Xingluo planned to retreat and flee. In her current state, continuing to fight was too much… Actually, it wasn’t that bad. Although she hadn’t managed to harm Jidi, Jidi hadn’t inflicted any fatal wounds on her either. The reason she wanted to run was simply that she was terrified of Jidi’s strength, believing her to be an opponent she could never defeat. So she abandoned the fight and prepared to escape.
“Don’t worry, leave it to us. We’ve been trained to work as a team.”
As for Jidi’s strength, although they hadn’t witnessed it firsthand, the operations center had told them before their deployment that this Evolved Beast was comparable to the powerful individual that had appeared during the Void Catastrophe thirteen years ago. To successfully hunt this Evolved Beast, they had mobilized all the Superhumans in the city.
An Evolved Beast that required so many Superhumans to take down would certainly not be weak. On their way here, they had seen the corpses of Superhumans who had already fallen. Even from their twisted expressions, one could tell what kind of agony they had suffered before death.
Thus, the Superhumans who had arrived now had a rough understanding of Jidi’s power. Fighting alone, none of them stood a chance against her.
But if they worked together as a team, perhaps they could take her down.
“No, no, no. Even as a team, it’s not possible. Her strength is not something you can overcome just by ganging up on her. Trust me, if you get a chance, run. To defeat her, you’d need even more Superhumans fighting together, and even then it’s uncertain.”
Having experienced Jidi’s terrifying power firsthand, Liu Xingluo still wanted to persuade them not to harbor unrealistic hopes. The strength of a Princess was not so easily opposed.
“Thanks for your concern, but we’ve been trained in teamwork. We won’t go down that easily. Just rest and watch how we take her down.”
Despite Liu Xingluo’s warnings, they didn’t listen. They simply thought that she had been beaten too badly and had developed a psychological shadow, believing Jidi to be too strong to defeat no matter what.
“Then… good luck. I’m retreating now.”
Since her advice was useless, Liu Xingluo didn’t intend to keep persuading them. She had done her duty by telling them to find a chance to escape. They chose to fight—that had nothing to do with her.
“Retreat? You’re trying to run?! I won’t let you escape! Ha!!!”
Hearing Liu Xingluo say the word “retreat,” Jidi immediately realized she was planning to flee.
If other defective products wanted to run, that would be fine. They were weaklings who could only fight with the power their mother had granted them; there was no need to care whether they lived or died or managed to escape.
But Liu Xingluo was different. Her little sister’s body was still in Liu Xingluo’s possession. If she escaped, who knew when they would meet again?
To prevent Liu Xingluo from escaping, Jidi crossed her arms in front of her chest, then raised them above her head.
The next instant, a blue light surged from all directions and began to spread, enveloping her, Liu Xingluo, and the Superhumans who had come to reinforce.
“What? What is this?”
Encountering this for the first time, the Superhumans dared not act rashly. Jidi was extremely powerful; acting recklessly would easily lead to disaster.
Little did they know that this very hesitation would seal off their only exit. Jidi’s target was solely Liu Xingluo—only she absolutely could not escape. The Superhumans were merely collateral; if the domain had not fully formed, they could have slipped out.
Liu Xingluo also watched the changes around her. Strangely, even though it was her first time seeing this, she felt a sense of familiarity—perhaps it was a memory from her body. The body of the Seventh Princess had seen this technique before and recorded it, which was why Liu Xingluo found it familiar.
When the light surrounding them faded, the environment had transformed into a scene utterly different from the frozen streets.
A snowy plain—an endless snowy plain as far as the eye could see—and a raging blizzard severely obstructed visibility. The faint light from the aurora in the sky only worsened the already poor visibility.
“Could this be… a domain?!”
Seeing this scene, Liu Xingluo finally realized what it was. Wasn’t this the same as the domain she had stumbled into before? Although the scenery differed, its nature was probably the same.
“Yes. This is my world, my domain. Now that the domain has been opened, you cannot escape. Resign yourself to death.”
Jidi had not intended to use her domain unless it was to prevent Liu Xingluo from escaping. Within the domain, Jidi and other Evolved Beasts would have their power further enhanced. Of course, this included Liu Xingluo in her current form. Meanwhile, the humans who relied on their mother’s power to fight would be weakened, unable to unleash their usual strength.
“Wh-what’s happening? Why does my body feel so heavy? Is it the blizzard?”
Soon, the domain’s effect manifested on them. As their power was diminished, even their movements became sluggish.
Fortunately, Jidi’s eyes were fixed solely on Liu Xingluo. She couldn’t be bothered to deal with them for now. Let them suffer on the side. Once Liu Xingluo was dealt with, she would come back to clean them up.
