Chapter 195: The Rescuer’s Arrival

It seemed Yi Zhiqiu truly understood the essence of this anomaly.

The fact that he had even encountered similar phenomena in other schools surprised me, indicating that various secrets lurked within those institutions as well.

Seeing Yi Zhiqiu still engrossed in sensing the anomaly, I placed the Five Emperors Coins beside me, then pulled out my phone and began reading a novel.

There was no internet within the anomaly, so passing the time meant relying on pre-downloaded stories.

After a while, Yi Zhiqiu suddenly recalled, “Oh, right. Wait a moment, aren’t you supposed to attend the grade-level music class?”

I was surprised he remembered even that, despite not being an official faculty member. I nodded. “Yes, but now that I’m trapped in this anomaly, it seems I won’t be able to make it.”

“Still, the grade-level teacher never takes attendance anyway, so it doesn’t really matter if I don’t go.”

In truth, signing in was required, but Mo Qingyan had already arranged with Xiao Qing for her to sign me in if I was trapped and couldn’t make it.

It wasn’t a big deal, which was why I felt no rush.

“How can that be? I can’t let you miss class because of me. Wait a moment, I’ll forcibly take you out right now,” Yi Zhiqiu declared, slapping the garden ground with his palm.

“Wait, what are you doing?” I had a terrible premonition.

Suddenly, a massive surge of aura erupted from Yi Zhiqiu’s body.

Boom! The center of the small garden suddenly exploded. The beautiful flowers and shrubs were all swept up by the violent airflow, like a storm tearing through clouds, affecting the entire area.

“Ah!” I disregarded my flying school skirt, clutching the chair tightly, struggling not to be blown away.

The sheer power of Yi Zhiqiu’s true qi burst was terrifying, akin to a human-shaped tornado.

Immediately after, he drew his peach wood sword and slashed forward. Several colossal trees, which had been blocking the sun, were instantly felled from a distance.

Though it was an invisible sword qi, I could clearly see the crescent-shaped transparent blade slice through the massive tree trunks.

Initially, I had thought the peach wood sword was merely for warding off ghosts and evil spirits, holding little power if used as an actual sword.

After all, it was a wooden sword, completely unsharpened. I never expected such exaggerated power in Yi Zhiqiu’s hands.

“You, what are you trying to do?” I asked, a hint of terror in my voice. Mo Qingyan had warned me that forcibly breaking an anomaly would cause everyone inside to suffer a backlash.

“Naturally, I’m forcing a path open to send you out,” Yi Zhiqiu stated, raising his sword forward once more.

An invisible energy field, like a light cannon, obliterated everything in its path.

“That won’t work! Wait, it feels like something is coming!” I cried out in alarm.

As Yi Zhiqiu continued his destruction, the entire anomaly began to stir violently.

The scene Yi Zhiqiu had destroyed blurred for a moment before instantly restoring itself, as if a game map had simply reloaded.

Immediately after, countless ivy vines coiled towards Yi Zhiqiu.

“Tsk! So it’s not that easy to deal with after all?” Yi Zhiqiu’s sword danced in a circle.

I could vaguely discern the constantly rotating sword light forming a Taiji symbol. Any approaching ivy vines that entered the sword light were instantly shredded into countless pieces.

“So powerful! Is that the Taiji Sword style? I never imagined the slow, graceful swordplay I’d seen in the plaza could unleash such immense power in Yi Zhiqiu’s hands, and with such profound elegance.”

However, it was my turn to panic next. Countless vines coiled towards me as well. I quickly clutched the Five Emperors Coins tightly, shouting, “Teacher Yi, save me!”

“En!” Yi Zhiqiu turned to see me, raising his sword and slashing towards me.

A Taiji diagram flew over, instantly severing several vines.

Before I could even sigh in relief, the anomaly erupted again. It seemed Yi Zhiqiu’s strike had triggered something.

My vision blurred, followed by a dizzying sensation of the world spinning.

When I opened my eyes, I was stunned. Yi Zhiqiu was no longer in front of me, and I was no longer in the small garden.

Instead, I found myself in a forest. Not only that, but the Five Emperors Coins in my hand were gone.

Immediately, countless vines coiled towards me. I took off running, but in this forest, I couldn’t find my bearings.

After only a few steps, I tripped over a vine. Then, countless vines swarmed me, pulling my limbs apart and hoisting me into the air.

Why? My jade pendant and prayer beads showed no reaction. Was it because these vines weren’t demons or ghosts? Or perhaps their actions weren’t considered ‘harming’ me?

The vines relentlessly continued to burrow into my clothes, spreading towards my chest and even into my underwear.

As they crawled across my skin, they brought with them a very strange sensation of pleasure.

“No! Not there! Let go of me!” I struggled desperately, but it was futile. Even with all my strength, I couldn’t break free from the vines.

I regretted it immensely. I had left the Iron Thread Gu in my backpack. Otherwise, these mere vines could have been easily severed.

Now, I was helpless, forced to endure the vines ravaging my body.

Flowers bloomed on the entwining vines, continuously spraying pollen. Even without inhaling, I felt a burning sensation where it landed on my skin.

My body instantly felt hot, an unbearable itch spreading through me, accompanied by a hollow, parched hunger.

“Ugh~ How can I be here, with these things~ No, Yi Zhiqiu, hurry and save me!” Having said that, I closed my eyes, ecstatically enduring the vines’ ravishment.

A faint, almost imperceptible moan escaped me.

“I’m here! Don’t move!” Yi Zhiqiu’s voice echoed from nearby.

Hearing his voice brought an immense sense of security. Immediately, several flashes of sword light appeared, instantly severing all the vines that bound me.

I fell directly from the air, but I didn’t hit the ground. Instead, I landed in a warm, soft embrace.

Yi Zhiqiu had rushed beneath me at an incredibly fast speed, catching me.

I instinctively hugged Yi Zhiqiu tightly, not just for the sense of safety, but also because of that hungry, parched feeling.

Only by holding him could I find some slight relief.

The vines continued to try and attack us, but this time Yi Zhiqiu did not retaliate.

He stood his ground, a slowly rotating energy field forming around him like a Taiji shield.

It merely blocked the vines, no longer severing them.

Soon, the anomaly sensed no aggression, and with Yi Zhiqiu holding me in a posture that once again fit the ‘couple’ standard, the vines ceased their agitation and slowly retreated.

“I’m sorry, I was late, and I didn’t expect this anomaly could forcibly separate people.”

“The Five Emperors Coins are too high-level; the anomaly couldn’t take them away,” Yi Zhiqiu apologized.

He wasn’t truly late; only about half a minute had passed since I was transported away.

Moreover, I felt that even with the Five Emperors Coins, it wouldn’t have helped, because the vines weren’t ghosts or monsters.

Thus, the magical artifacts didn’t identify them as an attack, unless I could actively command the artifacts, but those Five Emperors Coins weren’t mine.

Yet, even though my mind was relatively clear, the words that came out were full of grievance. “No, my body, it’s starting to feel strange!”
