Chapter 207: Revelations and Plans

“What’s this?” I looked in astonishment at the photographs in Mo Qingyan’s hands. They showed Yi Zhiqiu embracing me, us walking together, and even me giving him a pillow for his lap. They were all from today’s fake date.

“Correct. The monster has a monitoring function. I recorded your entire date with Yi Zhiqiu, including videos.” Mo Qingyan said.

Wait, does that mean she saw that part too? My face instantly turned red, and Xiao Qing was dissatisfied. “Mo Qingyan, how could you take these photos? If they leak out, Xia Yubing’s reputation will be ruined!”

“Xia Yubing’s reputation won’t be affected. Who truly suffers is obvious.” Mo Qingyan smiled.

“Yi Zhiqiu?” Xiao Qing instantly thought of the consequences if these photos leaked, but she was confused. “But Yi Zhiqiu isn’t a teacher either.”

“By then, no one will care if he’s a teacher. The fact that he’s a school employee is enough. If these photos leak, he’ll be criticized by everyone and lose his reputation.” Mo Qingyan said coldly.

“But Xia Yubing’s reputation will still be affected, right?” Xiao Qing still asked worriedly.

“Don’t worry. These photos are just insurance to prevent Yi Zhiqiu from discovering our actions. As long as he stays in the dark, these photos will never be leaked.” Mo Qingyan said.

“Xia Yubing, is this really okay?” Xiao Qing looked at me, and I thought for a moment before saying, “It doesn’t matter as long as the last part isn’t released.”

Mo Qingyan pointed at the last part and said, “I promise that this part will never be released.”

I believed Mo Qingyan knew what the last part meant. Xia Yubing’s reputation didn’t matter to me, except that the last part was too embarrassing. And as Mo Qingyan said, keeping an insurance policy against Yi Zhiqiu was better.

“No problem. Anyway, the last part won’t affect Yi Zhiqiu at all. I’ve already deleted that part entirely. I’ll give you a few photos. If Yi Zhiqiu discovers your problem, you can use these photos to threaten him.” Mo Qingyan said.

“But what if he’s someone who doesn’t care about reputation?” I asked, though I wasn’t sure. Personally, I felt Yi Zhiqiu still cared about his reputation, or rather, he cared about the morality of his actions.

I hadn’t interacted with Yi Zhiqiu for long, so I wasn’t sure about his bottom line. If he was truly a righteous person, willing to sacrifice his reputation to eliminate evil, then these photos would be useless.

“That’s right. So these are just bargaining chips. If he really flips the table, I have no other choice. But as long as Yi Zhiqiu doesn’t dare kill us, I can guarantee that whether it’s reporting to the police or going to court, he won’t win. At least we won’t lose.” Mo Qingyan said.

Deng Shan, Jia Cheng, and Bai Yue showed no surprise at her words, only Xiao Qing’s expression was slightly surprised, as if they had already known.

This was also the first time Mo Qingyan had revealed her true intentions to me and Xiao Qing, indicating that we had gained her trust to some extent and were closer to the core.

Her mention of a ‘protection umbrella’ made me wonder what it was, and now that Mo Qingyan said we wouldn’t lose whether it was the police or the court, the background was clear—it involved officials?

And Mo Qingyan’s remark that we wouldn’t lose, but that didn’t mean we would win, was worth considering. Not losing didn’t equal winning, meaning the protection umbrella could only ensure we wouldn’t be penalized procedurally. That’s why she said if Yi Zhiqiu chose to flip the table, she had no other choice.

Later, everyone enjoyed their meal and chatted, shifting to a lighter atmosphere. They played a game of Parcheesi until everyone was full and ready to leave at midnight.

I pulled Mo Qingyan aside and shared my concerns: “Mo Qingyan, I secretly plotted against Cao Bao, but he’s only seriously injured, not dead. If he reveals that I paid him, I might be in a disadvantageous position.”

“Ah, you finally want to discuss this with me? I thought you had forgotten. Don’t worry, Cao Bao is still in a coma in the ICU.” Mo Qingyan smiled.

“Huh? You’ve been keeping track of Cao Bao?” I asked in surprise.

“Of course. After all, the use of ‘buy life money’ was something I told you, and it’s your first time trying this. Leaving some traces is normal.” Mo Qingyan said.

“So how should we handle the aftermath?” I pulled Mo Qingyan to the corner, wanting her advice on this.

“Well, I can give you two options. You can personally go to the hospital and use a parent ghost or buy life money to curse him to death. I can help you cover your tracks.” Mo Qingyan said.

I considered this option. Going to finish off Cao Bao, though I had no affection for him, I still hesitated at the idea of killing someone. What about the second option?

“I knew you wouldn’t choose the first one. Luo Xiao, your heart is too soft, and that will be your weakness.” Mo Qingyan said, “The second option is simpler. You don’t need to worry about anything. Cao Bao is in the First Affiliated Hospital of Hujiang. Liang Xuezhang can help you erase that part of his memory, leaving no traces.”

“Can Liang Xuezhang really do that? So, what do I need to offer in return?” I asked, knowing that if I asked Mo Qingyan for a favor, she would demand something in exchange.

“It’s simple. Just get closer to Yi Zhiqiu in the future and develop a good relationship with him. Take more ambiguous photos. The more chips, the better.” Mo Qingyan said.

“Just that? Then it’s no problem.” I nodded. After all, I had already been photographed once, so taking a few more wouldn’t matter.

After agreeing with Mo Qingyan, I returned to play games with the others. As the time approached, the hotel lobby manager suddenly knocked on the door and asked, “Miss, can you come and talk for a moment?”

I followed her out of the room, and she led me to the office at the back. The hotel manager was there, looking worried. “Miss, how is the situation at Xia’s place?”

“Xia? I actually know nothing about the family situation and have to wait until tomorrow’s memorial service to see those relatives. How can I answer that?”

Seeing my silence, the manager looked worried and said, “Miss, to be honest, the hotel’s situation is dire, and it might go bankrupt if things continue this way.”
