Join the ServerA long, drawn-out wait is pure torture. It felt just like when Ye Feng had been trapped in that cage earlier; back then, the waiting had filled him with a mixture of rage and dread.
It was the exact same story now. For every moment Mu Yuchen ignored him, Ye Feng’s anxiety only spiraled deeper.
This kind of calm before the storm is always the most terrifying phase, simply because you have absolutely no idea when the tempest is going to break.
Right now, Ye Feng had no clue what he was about to face. He desperately wanted to shout and curse her out, but he was terrified that throwing a tantrum would only invite an even more sadistic retaliation.
Ding-dong!!!
The villa’s doorbell suddenly rang. Mu Yuchen walked over to the front door and opened it, revealing her young assistant, Du Xiaowen.
“Where are the items I asked for?”
“Sister Chen, they’re right here…”
Du Xiaowen kept her head bowed as she handed over a paper bag with both hands. Her voice sounded incredibly tiny and soft, but if anyone had caught a glimpse of her eyes right then, they would have noticed a strange, deep-seated excitement gleaming within them.
Mu Yuchen took the paper bag, peeked inside at the contents, and nodded with satisfaction.
“When will the other item be ready?”
“It should be ready by this afternoon. Do you want me to bring it over?”
“No need, just take me there to pick it up this afternoon.” Mu Yuchen paused, thinking it over before adding, “Actually… you might as well come along up here first.”
Looking at Du Xiaowen standing meekly at the door with her head down, behaving thoroughly obedient, Mu Yuchen decided she could use her assistant’s help to handle things.
“O-Okay!”
“Hm?!”
Mu Yuchen cast a suspicious glance at Du Xiaowen. Her little assistant’s tone just now had sounded a bit too eager.
“Is… is something wrong, Sister Chen?”
Du Xiaowen also realized her slip-up and immediately spoke up to divert her boss’s attention.
“It’s nothing. Close the door and follow me.”
Mu Yuchen gave her secretary a long, hard look but said nothing more. She turned around with the bag and headed straight up to the second floor.
Thud, thud, thud, thud!!!
Pant, pant, pant!~
Listening to the heavy clicks of high heels ascending the stairs, Ye Feng’s breathing grew frantic. All of his previous internal torture instantly condensed into a suffocating anticipation.
The footsteps drew closer and closer until, finally, a figure stepped into the doorway.
From the very beginning, Ye Feng’s eyes had been glued to the entrance. The moment Mu Yuchen appeared, his instinct was to avert his gaze, but the paper bag in her hand instantly caught his eye.
What the hell is in there?
Before he could even process the question, another silhouette slipped in right behind Mu Yuchen. The second person kept her head low, making it impossible for Ye Feng to see her face clearly, but he felt an uncanny sense of familiarity—not because he actually recognized her, but rather, it felt as though this wasn’t the first time she had stood over him while he was vulnerable.
Mu Yuchen walked over to the bedside with graceful steps, bent down to retrieve the crumpled JK uniform from the floor, and stared coldly at Ye Feng.
“I’d rather die than wear that!”
Ye Feng snapped his eyes away from Mu Yuchen, rushing to lay down his ultimate boundary before she could even open her mouth.
“You really won’t wear it?”
“Whether you like wearing it or not is your business, but I’m absolutely not touching it.”
Ye Feng knew his stance had to be completely unyielding. If he took even a single step back now, he would fall into a bottomless abyss!
How did the old saying go? Crossdressing only happens zero times or an infinite number of times. He had zero desire to walk down the street parading in a schoolgirl skirt every day. Though, frankly, he was vastly overthinking things; even if he begged to go outside, a certain someone would never give him the luxury of leaving the house.
“Xiaowen, flip him over.”
“Huh???”
The meek, head-bowed girl from moments ago stepped forward at a brisk pace. Before Ye Feng could utter a syllable, she locked her arms around his torso and violently forced him onto his stomach.
He tried to thrash and resist, but two massive hands pinned his shoulders flat against the mattress with terrifying strength. To make matters worse, a heavy thigh pressed directly down onto his lower back. The agonizing, stinging soreness flared up instantly; it was a testament to Ye Feng’s upbringing that he didn’t immediately launch into a string of profanities.
Meanwhile, Mu Yuchen calmly reached into the paper bag and pulled out a perfectly square, exquisite gift box.
Etched onto the top of the box was a circular emblem that resembled a high-end designer logo.
Mu Yuchen peeled away the protective plastic wrap. As the lid was slowly lifted, the item inside was brought to light.
Resting in the box was a thick, leather collar. However, a ring of exposed metal was highly visible along the inner lining, and combined with the two bright indicator lights built into the exterior, it took very little imagination to realize this wasn’t just a simple fashion accessory.
Holding the collar, Mu Yuchen slowly closed the distance. To make the task easier, she climbed onto the bed, pinning him down with one knee resting right beside his head.
Ye Feng’s cheek happened to be smashed flat facing right toward her, meaning he was forced to see a few things he definitely shouldn’t be seeing past her legs.
“What… what are you doing?!”
As beautiful as the view might have been, Ye Feng’s focus was entirely shattered by pure panic. A collar?! Isn’t that meant for dogs?! By forcing this thing onto him, what exactly did she view him as?
Yet no matter how frantically he squirmed, the hands clamping him down were like iron vices. He could do nothing but watch in sheer horror as the collar slowly hovered over his neck. Finally, with a sharp click, the lock snapped shut around his throat.
“You… you bunch of animals! Let me go! If you’ve got the guts, fight me one-on-one! Don’t take advantage of the fact that I’m physically exhausted right now! Just wait until I’m recovered, I’ll take on ten of you!”
Damn it all, Ye Feng was genuinely furious this time. Treating him brutally earlier was one thing—at least that still fell within the boundaries of human behavior. But putting a collar on him? What did that mean? She completely refused to view him as a human being!
The more he thought about it, the angrier he got, wishing he could swing around and slap both of them across the face. Unfortunately, he was pinned completely flat.
Du Xiaowen’s face was flushed red, her breath coming in short, heavy gasps as she reluctantly climbed off Ye Feng’s body. Standing by the edge of the bed with her head lowered, she looked down at her hands, still feeling the lingering warmth of his skin against her palms. She secretly decided she wasn’t going to wash her hands for the next few days.
Mu Yuchen didn’t pay any attention to her secretary’s bizarre little fixations. She casually reached into the paper bag again, pulling out a sleek, black remote control. With her free hand, she scooped up the pink JK uniform once more, her voice dropping back into a freezing, indifferent drone.
“Now then. Are you going to put it on, or not?”
“I…”
Ye Feng opened his mouth to shout “No!” and braced himself to leap up and give this woman a massive backhand. But then his eyes locked onto the remote control in her fingers. Connecting the dots back to the metal lining around his neck, a horrible, impending sense of doom flooded his chest. The defiance caught squarely in his throat, making it physically impossible to force the words out.
“I’ll… I’ll wear it!”
A true man knows when to yield and when to stand tall. For now, he would submit. In the future, he would definitely have his day.
“Too slow of an answer.”
“F*ck!”
“AAAAHHHHH!!!”
(Author’s Note: Writing this chapter threw me a bit off my original outline. Du Xiaowen wasn’t actually supposed to make her grand appearance this early on. But looking at the ‘harem’ tag on this story, I figured focusing on just one female lead for so long wasn’t quite right, so here we are. If I get a better wave of inspiration down the line, I might come back and polish this section up. Huge apologies!)
