Chapter 13: The Leash

The moment he stepped out of the car, Ye Feng caught a savory scent. Following the aroma with his eyes, he spotted a barbecue restaurant.

He hadn’t eaten a proper meal in three days. To be accurate, he had eaten a single cup of instant noodles, but what use was that? Any energy from it had likely been burned up long ago.

“Hungry?”

“Yeah.”

“Then do you want to eat something good?”

Ye Feng fell silent for a moment before nodding. He hadn’t quite reacted to her initial question, and while he knew this woman definitely had something malicious up her sleeve, he was genuinely starving.

“If you cooperate well in a bit, I’ll buy you whatever you want to eat.”

“Okay.”

Mu Yuchen let out a satisfied smile. Then, wrapping her fingers around Ye Feng’s hand, she led him toward a shopping mall. Du Xiaowen kept her head low, following closely behind them like a shadow.

Staring at their intertwined hands, Du Xiaowen desperately wished she could hold Ye Feng’s hand too, and then thoroughly…

Schloop…

Mu Yuchen quickly brought Ye Feng up to the second floor of the mall, heading straight for a shop that looked a lot like a pet boutique.

Only after stepping inside did Ye Feng realize it wasn’t a pet shop, but rather a boutique for pet accessories. But why the hell had she brought him here?

Actually, Ye Feng didn’t even need to think to understand. What else would they be doing here? He was nothing more than a pet to her, so buying accessories for a pet was only natural.

Meanwhile, Du Xiaowen, who had been trailing them earlier, had disappeared somewhere. Upon reaching the second floor, she seemed to have split off from them, but Ye Feng felt none of that had anything to do with him, so there was no need to care.

The moment the two walked into the store, a female clerk immediately approached, smiling and nodding at them.

“Welcome. How may I help you today?”

Mu Yuchen didn’t immediately respond, and Ye Feng felt he had no right to speak up either.

“Do you have leashes?”

After circling the store once, Mu Yuchen hadn’t found what she was looking for. She finally turned to ask the clerk who had been trailing behind them.

“We do. Right this way, please.”

The clerk didn’t show any annoyance at Mu Yuchen’s previous cold shoulder. Instead, keeping a professional smile plastered on her face, she led the pair toward another display section.

Very quickly, they were brought before a glass showcase filled with chains of various sizes—gold ones, silver ones, and even colored ones. For the most part, they were quite thin, closely resembling the decorative little chains found on luxury handbags. At the opposite end of each chain, there was a loop shaped like a bracelet.

Ye Feng could already picture this thing snapping onto the collar around his neck, with Mu Yuchen parading him around on a leash. If that happened, he really would be no different from a dog.

But since he couldn’t fight back, he forced himself to endure it for the sake of food!

“Let’s go with this one.”

Mu Yuchen pointed inside the display case at a sleek, black chain. She felt it would match his black collar perfectly.

“I’ll do it myself!”

Seeing the clerk pull out the chain and prepare to attach it to him, Ye Feng immediately rejected her. Even if he was being treated like a dog, he wasn’t one. Only a real dog would sit perfectly still and let someone chain them up.

“Uh…”

The clerk hesitated. It wasn’t that she minded letting Ye Feng handle it, but the fastener on this specific chain was highly complex, requiring a small screwdriver to lock it in place to ensure it couldn’t be easily taken off. If Ye Feng tried to do it himself, he would definitely mess it up.

“I’ll do it.”

Mu Yuchen snatched the chain away, stepped directly in front of Ye Feng, and tilted his chin up. With a serious expression, she took the screwdriver from the clerk’s hand, preparing to handle the installation personally.

Ye Feng forced himself to ignore the bizarre sensation around his neck, silently enduring the process.

Only after getting her hands dirty did Mu Yuchen realize just how difficult this was. Because the collar she had bought for Ye Feng was a specialized electronic model, she had to carefully avoid certain internal components; otherwise, she might damage the wiring inside. She had no desire to watch Ye Feng perform an impromptu breakdance from an accidental shock right here in the store, so she worked meticulously, taking a considerable amount of time before it was finally secured.

When she grasped the bracelet loop and gave it a gentle tug, forcing Ye Feng to stumble forward two steps to keep his balance, Mu Yuchen felt that all her effort had been entirely worth it.

“How much?”

Mu Yuchen yanked the chain two more times, growing more fond of it the more she looked at it.

“That will be twenty thousand yuan. After the discount, it comes to nineteen thousand nine hundred and ninety yuan. Will you be paying by card or cash?”

“Card.”

“Understood. Please follow me this way.”

As Ye Feng was dragged along with her, his fingers fumbled with the links of the chain. Hearing that this single chain was worth twenty thousand yuan actually eased the crushing humiliation in his heart quite a bit. After all, he was now a man rocking a twenty-thousand-yuan accessory.

If he ever managed to escape down the line, he could just find a place to pawn this chain, and his living expenses for the short term would be completely covered!

“Do you have an extended version of this chain?”

“Yes, we do. How long of an extension do you require?”

“About thirty meters or so.”

“We can do that, ma’am. However, it will be a bit heavy. Would you like us to deliver it directly to your residence?”

“Yes, that works.”

Why the hell is she buying such a long chain? To hang herself? Ye Feng grumbled internally.

“Alright, let’s go!”

Mu Yuchen gave the leash a firm tug, and Ye Feng stumbled forward to keep up with her pace.

“Very good, so obedient. Tell me, what do you want to eat? I’ll take you there right now.”

Mu Yuchen patted Ye Feng’s head as if she were stroking a good puppy, her tone softening into something almost gentle.

Despite having his head patted, Ye Feng actually began to ponder seriously over what he should eat. However, this world was likely different from his previous one, meaning the cuisine would have its differences too. After thinking for a long time, he couldn’t come up with anything specific.

“I don’t know.”

“Hm?”

“Master, I don’t know.”

The exact moment the words left his mouth, a figure came rushing over in a frantic hurry, interrupting the wave of fury that Ye Feng was trying to suppress.

“Sister Chen, the item is ready.”

As Du Xiaowen spoke, she pulled a rectangular box from her jacket. Ye Feng focused his gaze on it—wasn’t that just a smartphone?

“Give it to him.”

It’s for me? Taking the phone, Ye Feng was quite startled. When had this woman become so kind-hearted as to buy him a phone?

“Do you like it?”

Ye Feng nodded. Who didn’t like a new phone? Especially looking at the packaging, it was clear this model was miles ahead of a standard budget phone. How could he not like it?

“Speak!”

Ye Feng, who had been feeling a tiny bit pleased a moment ago, felt his happiness instantly evaporate upon hearing her sharp command.

Originally, he had intended to use simple nods or shakes of his head to answer her questions, purely to avoid having to utter those two humiliating words, “Master.” But looking at the situation now, she had clearly seen right through his little strategy!

“I’m happy, Master.”

“Good boy. Let’s go get some food!” Mu Yuchen yanked the chain, leaving Ye Feng to follow behind her, gnashing his teeth in silent rage.

Watching this display unfold before her eyes, Du Xiaowen only felt her internal excitement spike even higher.

She was currently wondering how many times the two of them had already done “it.” Her perspective toward Ye Feng was the type where someone sleeps with a guy and leaves immediately without looking back.

Therefore, far from being angry that Ye Feng had been ridden by Mu Yuchen, she actually felt a strange, inexplicable thrill from it—she even harbored a dark urge to take Ye Feng right in front of Mu Yuchen’s face.
