“Home.”
“Home?… Will that place ever truly be my home?”
Ye Feng muttered the final sentence in a whisper so faint that only he could hear it.
Gazing through the tinted car window, he watched the bustling, beautiful cityscape slide past. Perhaps he would never set foot in this city ever again.
Goodbye. I love you… at least, I still do right now.
Across the city, in her high-rise executive suite, Mu Yuchen paused mid-stroke as she signed a financial ledger. Her chest suddenly tightened with an inexplicable, hollow ache. Driven by a quiet instinct, her gaze drifted toward the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the skyline.
“I love you…” she whispered softly into the empty room.
Without her realizing it, a single tear slipped down her cheek, landing softly against the document in her hands and blurring the fresh ink.
The luxury vehicle accelerated smoothly, weaving briskly through the dense city traffic. Inside the rear passenger cabin, Ye Feng found himself drawn directly into Murong Fanghua’s arms.
“Feeling any better?”
“Mhm…” Ye Feng let out a quiet hum.
Ever since stepping into the vehicle, an odd sense of discomfort had washed over him. Once the engine started moving, he realized to his own surprise that he was experiencing motion sickness—a symptom he had never suffered from before. Fortunately, Murong Fanghua had noticed his pale complexion in time and pulled him against her chest to soothe him.
“Now that you’re feeling a bit better… shouldn’t you make me feel good too?”
“Huh?!”
Ye Feng raised his head in utter confusion, meeting Murong Fanghua’s intense, unreadable gaze.
She merely offered him a slow, dangerous smile. Before he could process her meaning, her hand glided downward, resting firmly against his hip.
“N-No… don’t—”
Realizing her intent, Ye Feng immediately began to push back.
“Heh, didn’t you promise to obey my every command just a few hours ago? Are you breaking your word already?”
“N-No, it’s not that… there’s… there’s a driver right there!” Ye Feng stammered, gesturing frantically toward the front seat in a desperate bid to buy time.
“Don’t worry,” Murong Fanghua whispered near his ear. “She knows better than to look back.”
“Mmmph—!”
Before Ye Feng could formulate another excuse, Murong Fanghua leaned down and captured his lips in a deep, suffocating kiss. The sudden loss of air sent a wave of dizziness through his head, robbing his limbs of all strength and leaving him completely pliable in her hold.
Seeing his resistance melt away, Murong Fanghua’s possessive urges flared out of control. She lifted his slender frame into her lap, straddling him securely against her waist.
“Be a good little pet and serve your master properly.”
“N-Ngh…”
Ye Feng’s cheeks burned bright crimson, his eyes hazing over with confusion and overwhelming physical sensations. Suspended in a state of sensory overload, his rational thoughts dissolved entirely, yielding to the raw warmth surging through his body.
Murong Fanghua slipped her hand beneath his trousers, and the two became entangled right there in the passenger cabin. Up front, the private driver gripped the steering wheel tightly, staring rigidly at the highway ahead—knowing full well that a single glance in the rearview mirror could cost her life.
Listening to the heavy, ragged breathing and breathless moans echoing from the backseat, the driver’s own pulse raced wildly. To numb her own discomfort and speed up the journey, she pressed her foot firmly onto the accelerator. Before long, the slick sedan pulled up to the private terminal of the airport.
“M-Miss… we’ve arrived,” the driver announced, her voice slightly strained.
The driver’s voice pulled Murong Fanghua back to reality from her deep trance. Ye Feng, however, remained far from lucid. His arms were still wrapped tightly around her neck as he mumbled fragmented, nonsensical pleas into the crook of her collarbone.
“Heh, I didn’t realize my cute little pet was such a needy little thing,” Murong Fanghua chuckled softly, smoothing back his disheveled hair. “Though, this isn’t the right place to continue.”
Adjusting his clothes as best she could, she carried the thoroughly dazed young man out of the vehicle and onto the tarmac.
Qingning stepped forward instantly, reporting in a low voice: “Miss, Mu Yuchen has not appeared.”
“I see. It seems she lacks the courage after all,” Murong Fanghua remarked with a cool smile. “Let’s go.”
Holding Ye Feng’s soft hand in hers, she led him toward the boarding stairs.
Simultaneously, another figure was sprinting frantically into the terminal concourse.
Although Ye Feng’s brain remained somewhat hazy from the heavy physical exhaustion, basic cognitive awareness slowly returned as the cool airfield wind brushed against his face.
They were about to board. Once the plane took off, he would never see Mu Yuchen again. Deep in his heart, a quiet, foolish hope lingered—wishing he could catch one final glimpse of her in these last remaining seconds.
Yet, with every step up the stairs, that faint anticipation withered further away. Reaching the upper platform, he paused right before stepping into the cabin, turning his head to cast one final look down at the tarmac below.
Aside from a line of imposing bodyguards clad in black suits, the runway was completely empty.
Letting out a heavy, resigned sigh, he turned and stepped inside.
The moment he crossed the threshold, the interior design took him completely aback. Much like Zhang Jiaojiao’s reaction when she had first seen the private jet, Ye Feng was stunned by the sheer opulence. This was no commercial aircraft—it was a lavishly furnished, custom-designed mobile penthouse.
The sheer power of elite capital…
Murong Fanghua led him over to a plush leather sofa near the wide panoramic window overlooking the runway.
“YE FENG!”
A loud, desperate voice suddenly echoed across the airfield outside, cutting through the low rumble of the jet engines.
Ye Feng’s heart skipped a beat. Could it be her?!
He scrambled toward the glass, pressing his hands against the window as his eyes frantically scanned the tarmac below—only to catch sight of a familiar, slender figure standing alone by the terminal gate.
A bitter, helpless smile touched his lips. It wasn’t Mu Yuchen after all; it was her younger sister.
“I’m sorry…” he whispered softly toward the glass before pulling back into his seat.
Although he harbored a gentle affection for Mu Yutong, she wasn’t the person his heart had been searching for. Besides, even if it had been Mu Yuchen… what could either of them have changed? What was he foolishly hoping for in the first place?
Murong Fanghua also glanced out the window, a flicker of cold amusement passing through her eyes. She hadn’t expected the younger sister to show up while the corporate titan remained safely cowering behind her desk.
It seemed she had drastically overestimated how much Mu Yuchen truly cared for her little captive. Still, this outcome worked out in her favor—she no longer needed to waste extra time or capital backing Gu Yuxin’s petty crusade against the Mu corporation.
In her original plan, she had intended to orchestrate a proxy war from afar after leaving the city. Now? That would be a complete waste of effort.
“Alright, sweetie,” Murong Fanghua purred softly, turning back to him. “Didn’t you want more earlier? I’m all yours now.”
Ye Feng trembled slightly at her words, his pale cheeks instantly flushing deep red as he pulled himself out of his lingering melancholy.
“However, before we begin, I have a little present for you.”
She stood up and walked toward the master stateroom, returning a moment later holding a chic, sleek shopping bag.
“Put this on first, then we can have some real fun.”
Ye Feng looked up in curiosity, watching as Murong Fanghua pulled a folded outfit from the bag—a sleek black bunny-girl costume complete with sheer lace tights, a corset, and plush bunny ears.
I… I have to wear this?!
“Hurry and change, sweetie. Don’t keep me waiting too long~”
Ye Feng took the outfit with trembling hands. Though he had cross-dressed a couple of times before under coercion, doing so in a environment like this felt entirely different.
He stole a tentative glance at Murong Fanghua’s expectant smile, let out a soft sigh, and complied.
Down on the wind-swept tarmac, Mu Yutong stood frozen in place, watching the private jet lift smoothly off the runway and ascend into the gray clouds, reaching her hand out toward the open sky in total helplessness.
She hadn’t been able to do a single thing. Even though she had rushed here, even though she had seen the plane… she was completely powerless to save him.
I really am a complete failure… from beginning to end, I fail at everything I try to do.
