Chapter 20: Over

“Who… Who exactly are you?”

Ye Feng’s body wouldn’t stop shaking. He scrambled backward across the mattress inch by inch, keeping his movements as microscopic as possible, not daring to make any sudden shifts.

Mu Yutong merely blinked her eyes, possessing absolutely zero intent to answer his question. She simply pressed inward with a relentless stride, cornering Ye Feng into a cramped, restrictive angle where his back hit the wall and he could no longer retreat.

She thoroughly enjoyed watching this brand of terror wash over a little man’s face. Furthermore, this boy belonged to her precious older sister. Bullying a man who belonged entirely to Mu Yuchen—just the sheer thought of it sent a thrill of excitement through her veins!

Right now, Ye Feng was desperately praying that Mu Yuchen would suddenly walk through the front door. But she hadn’t made it back in time yesterday to save him from that horrific assault; would she really show up early today?

No… I can’t be this pathetic. Submitting and cowering will only invite far more unhinged abuse.

Ye Feng aggressively pumped himself up internally. He had to run. At the very least, he could make a break for the bedroom and lock the door behind him.

“Look! A UFO!”

Mu Yutong: “…”

Mu Yutong stared at Ye Feng with a gaze usually reserved for an absolute moron. Did this little man seriously think a childish trick like that would work on her?

But right as she was internally scoffing at how ridiculous he was being, the boy before her abruptly spun on his heel, sprinting with explosive speed straight toward the bedroom door.

She had been so thoroughly immersed in mocking his absurd outburst that her reflexes failed to register his movement until he was already gone.

When Ye Feng blurted out that stupid phrase, he had never intended to actually make her turn her head; his goal was simply to make her drop her guard. The exact moment she cataloged his behavior as completely laughable, her alertness had plummeted to absolute zero.

Slamming into the bedroom and violently throwing the lock on the door, Ye Feng couldn’t help but mentally pat himself on the back. He was a literal genius—an absolute master strategist.

“Heh…”

Seated back on the living room sofa, Mu Yutong slowly snapped out of her daze, a highly profound, scheming smile curling the corners of her lips.

Whatever. She was going to be residing here for the next few days anyway, so she had nothing but time. She didn’t believe for a fraction of a second that this little man could hibernate in that bedroom forever. Besides, her core objective had never been him; from the very moment she packed her bags, she had only been targeting one person: her older sister.

Inside the bedroom, Ye Feng sat back down on the mattress, his mind frantically analyzing the brat outside. Could he somehow utilize her to his advantage?

The vibe that girl radiated made him feel as though she could effortlessly twist him around her finger at any given second. In her hands, he felt like nothing more than a plush toy to be casually manipulated on a whim.

Yet, her familial status made her a flawless tool. If he executed his cards perfectly, he could orchestrate his escape far sooner and with much better efficiency.

Mu Yuchen’s younger sister… So her full name really is Mu Yuchen, Ye Feng pondered bitterly. It was truly a pathetic farce. He had been thoroughly claimed by her, yet he had to discover her actual name from the mouth of an outsider.

Ye Feng shook his head, trying to clear his mind. He had been overthinking way too much lately. For reasons he couldn’t explain, whenever his thoughts drifted to Mu Yuchen, a wave of profound, suffocating grievance would wash over him. His head would turn into a chaotic mess, and he would subconsciously find himself complaining and whining about her like a fragile little girl.

Sometimes, Ye Feng even horrified himself with a dark thought: Have I actually fallen in love with her? But how could he possibly harbor feelings for a monster he utterly loathed?

She treated him like property, and when he was hovering on the brink of absolute destruction yesterday, she hadn’t appeared in time to protect him. Counting today’s near-miss, that made two structural failures on her part. If he hadn’t used his wits to dodge a bullet just now, wouldn’t he have been brutally violated all over again?

Furthermore, she had forcefully taken his body without a shred of his consent, and then completely refused to take emotional responsibility afterward. She was a thoroughly toxic, evil woman. The females in this world truly didn’t possess a single drop of human decency.

“Ugh… huff…”

SLAP!

Ye Feng struck his own cheek hard, the stinging pain clearing the fog from his brain. He had just slipped right back into that pathetic emotional loop, and this wave had hit him far more violently than any previous instance. Before he had even registered the shift, hot tears were already streaming down his face.

Meanwhile, Mu Yutong had strolled up to the second floor, stepping right into Mu Yuchen’s master bedroom. As she had anticipated, the layout was remarkably spartan. The last time she had visited, the room carried the exact same minimalist arrangement; absolutely nothing had changed.

However, a specific object resting on the nightstand instantly arrested her attention. It was a sleek, rectangular black device that looked exactly like a remote control.

“What does this thing do?”

Amused, Mu Yutong picked it up, casually pressing a few buttons. She understood her older sister perfectly; if an object wasn’t of paramount operational importance, Mu Yuchen would never leave it resting casually by her pillow.

But what the hell did this gadget control? It looked like a remote, but what was the receiver?

As she turned it over in her hands, a sudden flash of inspiration struck her. Her gaze slowly drifted toward the floorboards, looking down toward the level below.

Stepping briskly downstairs, she halted directly outside the locked bedroom door. Pressing her ear tightly against the wood, she listened intently to the subtle rustling inside, and then firmly mashed the primary button on the remote control.

“Crack… bzzzt!”

“Gah… huff… huff!”

Ye Feng gasped frantically for oxygen, massive beads of sweat instantly exploding across his forehead and cascading down his face. He didn’t know what had triggered it, but someone had absolutely activated the remote—and the statistical probability pointed squarely to that brat outside.

Right now, his solitary prayer was that she was simply pressing buttons at random. Otherwise, he was going to be completely ruined.

But reality always loved to manifest a person’s absolute worst-case scenario. Without a shred of warning, a blinding current of electricity surged violently from the electronic collar wrapped around his throat.

“AAAAAHHH!”

He managed to bite back the scream for a fraction of a second before the sheer agony forced a horrific shriek from his lungs. His beautiful facial features contorted into a mask of pure torment, and his entire frame began to thrash and vibrate uncontrollably on the floor.

“Does that feel good?”

The exact millisecond the current subsided, a mocking voice drifted clearly through the door.

Ye Feng knew it was over. He was completely, utterly finished.

“Do you want to experience another round?” Mu Yutong’s leisurely voice drifted inward once more.

“N-No… I don’t!”

After a heavy silence, Ye Feng completely bowed his head. He could not endure that sensation again. He desperately, truly did not want it.

“Then open the damn door!” Mu Yutong’s tone suddenly dropped into a freezing register, carrying a distinct chill that sounded terrifyingly identical to Mu Yuchen.

He didn’t even harbor the courage to refuse. A paralyzing terror completely snuffed out any remaining sparks of defiance. Dragging himself up, he placed a trembling hand over the knob and slowly turned the lock.

The exact second the door cracked open a fraction of an inch, a solid arm forced its way through the gap. The door was violently slammed inward, and the sheer momentum of the impact threw Ye Feng backward multiple paces, sending him crashing heavily onto the floorboards.

Two consecutive electric shocks had left his consciousness severely fractured. If he suffered a third strike, Ye Feng felt he would completely black out.

“Wow… you really are an intoxicating little thing, aren’t you?”

Mu Yutong dropped into a low squat, her fingers gently tracing Ye Feng’s cheek, feeling the heavy layer of sweat coating his skin.

Right now, Ye Feng was completely drenched from head to toe, his clothes plastered tightly against his frame. Coupled with the classic pleated JK uniform he was wearing, his blurred consciousness gave his eyes a glazed, vulnerable quality. He looked exactly like a piece of forbidden fruit hanging from a branch, practically begging a predator to pluck and devour him.

Acting entirely on a dark, sudden impulse, Mu Yutong hooped her arms around Ye Feng’s frame, lifted him effortlessly, and hurled him straight onto the mattress.

Within his hazy, disoriented mind, an alarm bell suddenly went off. He desperately tried to thrash and pull away, but before his muscles could even execute the command, a heavy physical body slammed flush against his own, pinning him flat beneath her weight.
