Chapter 24: Profile View

Zhang Jiajia let out a helpless shrug, internally lamenting just how incredibly difficult it was to earn a living these days.

Spinning on her heel, she shut the front door securely and walked back into her apartment.

“You can come out now. She’s gone.”

The exact second the words left her mouth, Ye Feng emerged from the bathroom, his entire frame swaying unsteadily on his feet.

“Thank you so much!”

“Don’t worry about it. Your girlfriend paid me for the trouble anyway. But holy crap, brother, what the hell happened to you?” Zhang Jiajia asked, staring at Ye Feng with a deeply bewildered expression.

Right now, Ye Feng was completely drenched in a cold sweat. His legs were vibrating so violently that it looked as though he was on the absolute precipice of collapsing onto the floorboards.

“Heh…”

Ye Feng offered a thoroughly bitter smile, merely shaking his head in response. How could he possibly articulate the reality that Du Xiaowen had treated him like an absolute punching bag throughout the entire night?

Du Xiaowen had behaved like a literal demon. If he were to strip away his clothes right now, his body would be entirely covered in an intricate map of deep purples and blues.

His buttocks in particular had borne the brunt of her brutality; she had delivered heavy, stinging slaps across his skin one after another without harboring a microscopic shred of restraint.

Coupled with the fact that he had been forced to sprint out of the villa before he could even look at breakfast to evade Mu Yuchen, his physical constitution had been reduced to a state of absolute, hollow exhaustion.

“Are you completely sure you’re going to be okay like this?”

Zhang Jiajia watched with a heavy layer of anxiety as Ye Feng dragged his feet toward her exit.

“I’m… I’m completely… fine…”

THUD!

The final word barely cleared his lips before his muscles completely lost structural integrity. His body went entirely limp, crashing heavily face-first against the door sill. His eyelids fluttered briefly before a dark exhaustion forced them shut.

Zhang Jiajia bolted forward instantly, pulling Ye Feng’s limp body off the floor.

The sheer force of the impact had ruptured the capillaries in his nose, causing bright crimson blood to spill across his upper lip. The sight sent a jolt of panic through Zhang Jiajia’s chest, making her terrified that a male asset was actively dying inside her living room. But upon closer inspection, she realized he had simply sustained a superficial facial scrape.

Shaking her head, she had no choice but to drag Ye Feng deeper into her private quarters.

After tossing Ye Feng unceremoniously onto her living room sofa, she immediately prepared to launch her scheduled live stream.

After all, her streaming channel was currently packed with wealthy, older sisters waiting to flood her account with monetary tips. She absolute could not afford to let them down. Even if a flawless, top-tier beauty materialized before her eyes, it wouldn’t deter her from going live—let alone a battered little man.

The reality was that she didn’t harbor a single shred of romantic attraction toward men; she strictly coveted women. However, this society completely weaponized itself against lesbian dynamics, viewing individuals with her orientation with profound, systematic disgust. She didn’t possess the courage to vocalize her preference, choosing instead to navigate her lifestyle by donning masculine attire (frilly maid uniforms) online to roleplay as an adorable boy.

This specific loophole not only permitted her to attract an army of gorgeous, wealthy women, but it also guaranteed a lucrative stream of revenue. It satisfied her personal comfort while funding her daily operational costs, making it a profession she deeply cherished.

Stepping before her vanity mirror, she ran a final quality check on her cosmetics and frills. Satisfied with the presentation, she settled into her gaming chair and initiated the broadcast.

The exact second the stream went live, the viewer count was virtually non-existent, but within a few minutes, traffic began to steadily filter in.

“Welcome in, everyone! Welcome!”

She weaponized her most sugary, high-pitched vocal register to greet every single username popping up in the chat. Finally, after cycling through roughly a dozen generic welcomes, the specific whale account she had been anticipating entered the lobby.

“Welcome back, Sister Murong!”

“Oh my gosh, thank you so much for the two massive rockets, Sister Murong!”

“Thank you immensely, I love you so much! ”

Meanwhile, deep within the royal palace of the sovereign State of Murong, a young woman was sprawled flat on a luxury mattress, staring at her screen with a deeply analytical expression.

She possessed a breathtakingly voluptuous silhouette. A waterfall of silky, midnight-black hair cascaded loosely across her shoulders, and her exceptionally long, slender legs were encased in premium black hosiery, amplifying her flawless physical proportions.

Though her gaze was technically locked onto the active live stream, the hollow focus in her eyes indicated she harbored zero genuine interest in the performer.

She was fully aware that the sugary, adorable “boy” executing cute poses on screen was biologically a female, and she did not possess a single scrap of attraction toward women.

The solitary reason she consumed this content was because locating a male who aligned with her personal metrics in the real world was an absolute statistical impossibility.

The archetype she coveted was a compact, delicate, easily manipulated little man—the classic “soft, fragile, and effortless to pin down” blueprint.

Yet, despite deploying her massive resources across the length and breadth of her nation, she had failed to secure a single male asset that met her criteria. Furthermore, given her status as the crown princess of the realm, crossing international borders to browse foreign markets personally was a diplomatic impossibility.

To make matters worse, sovereign corporate conglomerates like theirs faced immense political pushback and economic blockades from neighboring territories. Granted, the factions enacting the embargoes were low-tier, insignificant cartels, but their sheer strength in numbers made international travel highly hazardous.

Consequently, she had redirected her focus toward online streaming. Since the physical world fell short, she used these cross-dressing female creators as a psychological substitute. As long as her brain intentionally deleted the reality of their biology, she could easily treat them as authentic boys to satisfy her urges.

Zhang Jiajia was a talent she had stumbled upon quite recently, but at this point, the novelty had completely worn off, and she was losing interest rapidly.

Right as her thumb hovered over the exit button to hunt for a fresh creator, her peripheral vision caught a minor anomaly in the corner of the video feed. Tucked away on the edge of the screen, a partial human profile had manifested.

The exact millisecond her eyes mapped that profile view, an intense, phantom tremor shot straight through her heart. She stared at that isolated corner of the display in absolute, breathless disbelief. If her visual processing wasn’t malfunctioning… that profile belonged to an authentic male.

The pale skin of his jawline and cheek carried a distinct, feverish flush. Even though it was nothing more than a fractured, partial view of his face, the sheer aesthetic value sent a jolt of raw infatuation through her system.

However, she refrained from executing any sudden moves that might startle her target. Tapping her screen, she opened her digital wallet and systematically dropped several more premium gifts into the stream to lock the creator’s focus.

Inside the apartment, Ye Feng’s consciousness slowly bubbled back to the surface. He felt as though his cranium was right on the verge of exploding—as if someone had violently pried open his skull and dumped a gallon of freezing water directly onto his brain tissue. The pain was excruciating.

But taking in the unfamiliar layout of the room, he aggressively forced himself to stay alert. This world was a predatory wilderness; if he let his guard down for a single second, a couple of random women could easily barge in and force themselves on him.

Right now, his solitary logistical anchor was Du Xiaowen. Granted, when she executed the act, her unhinged ferocity stripped away any semblance of humanity, but she remained the only pawn he could actively utilize.

Besides, his overarching strategy revolved around exploiting her. Letting her use his body ruthlessly right now didn’t violate his long-term checklist; if anything, the deeper her investment, the less guilt he would experience when the time came to completely discard her.

“Oh, you’re finally awake. If you’re conscious, pack up and get back next door. Your girlfriend should be clocking out of her shift soon.”

Hearing the voice, Ye Feng turned his head, his vision running straight into Zhang Jiajia’s thoroughly annoyed, impatient expression.

“I’m incredibly sorry… thank you for saving me.”

“Just hurry up and leave, will you?”

Zhang Jiajia’s irritation was palpable. She had just wrapped up a exhausting broadcast, her stomach was completely empty, and she had zero interest in wasting operational minutes babysitting a stray man.

Sensing the heavy layer of hostility radiating from her, Ye Feng knew that lingering any longer would risk triggering a confrontation. He quietly picked himself up and exited the apartment.

Stepping up to Du Xiaowen’s front door, his gaze locked onto the shattered lock and splintered frame left behind by Mu Yuchen’s boots. He offered a weary shake of his head, yet for reasons he couldn’t entirely explain, the sight of that ruined door actually brought a minor spark of satisfaction to his chest.

Crossing over the broken threshold, he stepped into the interior.

Repairing the door would simply have to wait until Du Xiaowen returned; he possessed neither the physical strength nor the tools to rectify structural damage. Besides, his solitary desire right now was to sleep; the throbbing pressure inside his skull was growing exponentially worse by the second.
