Join the ServerYe Feng leaned submissively into Mu Yuchen’s embrace, locking his arms tightly around her torso.
The paralyzing fear of abandonment—especially being cast aside by the single human being he actually harbored affection for—constantly gnawed at his psyche.
Mu Yuchen tracked the tight, desperate grip of his hands against her waist. Though the sheer physical constriction caused her minor breathing discomfort, the intense tactile feedback gave her a crystal-clear baseline confirmation of his existence.
Tightening her own hold, she pulled his fragile frame flush against her chest. Wrapped in a mutual, protective hold, the two of them eventually drifted off into an exhausted sleep.
Meanwhile, up in her personal quarters, Mu Yutong sat upright on her mattress. She stared blankly at the text notifications populating her smartphone screen, a heavy wave of internal emptiness washing over her gut. It felt as though an essential structural component of her lifestyle was suddenly missing.
Slipping the device into sleep mode, she chose to completely ignore the incoming transmission ledger. After anchoring down in a silent, vacant daze for a few minutes, she threw back her heavy duvet and crawled deep beneath the sheets.
In the dead of night, the quiet stillness of the upper floorboards was abruptly fractured by the faint creak of a bedroom door swinging open. A shadow glided through the darkness, executing a rapid, coordinated sprint across the corridors until it arrived directly outside the reinforced subterranean bunker entrance.
Pressing her ear flat against the cold surface of the barrier, she intensely monitored the acoustic frequencies within. Satisfied, she slowly crouched down against the floorboards, settling into a silent vigil.
“Are you mathematically certain this is his exact residential coordinate?”
Murong Fanghua stared at the splintered wood and shattered locking mechanism of the front door, a sudden wave of irritation hitting her chest. She felt as though her logistical intelligence asset had deliberately clowned her.
“I don’t possess a full data set,” Zhang Jiajia replied defensively, shifting her feet. “He was smuggled here by his romantic partner, and by the following morning, both variables had completely vanished from the grid. I have zero tracking on their destination.”
“Oh, wait! I completely forgot to mention—there was an exceptionally hostile, alpha-tier woman who stormed this location hunting for him right before they disappeared.”
Processing Zhang Jiajia’s raw input, Murong Fanghua drifted into deep analytical thought. She had missed the primary extraction window by a single move. But the setback failed to derail her confidence; regardless of whose ledger this male asset currently belonged to, she, Murong Fanghua, was mathematically guaranteed to claim him.
“Qingning, execute a deep scan. I want his current geopolitical coordinate locked down immediately.”
“Understood, Miss!”
The woman in the tailored blazer delivered a crisp nod, pulling up her tracking interface.
The following morning down in the bunker, Ye Feng stared down at the breakfast tray, his facial features sliding into a distinct expression of disappointment. The variable delivering his morning nutrition was not the specific individual his heart had anticipated.
“Eat up. My older sister is currently managing a crisis at the corporate firm; she lacked the operational minutes to prepare your breakfast personally.”
Mu Yutong let out a weary shake of her head, instinctively preparing to weaponize another physical threat to enforce compliance.
But this time, Ye Feng merely hesitated for a microsecond before picking up the utensils and systematically consuming the meal on his own.
“Huh?!”
“The seasoning is quite balanced,” Ye Feng remarked calmly, turning his gaze directly onto her. Mapping the mildly stunned, vacant expression freezing her features, a sudden spark of genuine amusement flashed through his chest.
However, amusement didn’t equate to emotional surrender. He was fully aware that developing a genuine romantic attraction toward this girl was a statistical impossibility. His emotional fidelity belonged to a solitary master; any other predator on the board could only ever lay claim to his physical flesh.
Yet, a dark thought lingered in his subconscious: Will I truly possess the psychological stamina to keep my emotions guarded if this endless cycle continues?
“Ah… open wide. Let me personally feed you.”
Ye Feng swallowed hard. He desperately detested the concept of devolving into a calculated manipulator—he truly didn’t want to become a heartbreaker.
“Do you harbor a single shred of genuine affection for me?”
Ye Feng couldn’t decipher the exact underlying motivation prompting her sudden question, but his response remained unyielding. He gave her a firm, definitive shake of his head.
“Then whose name is anchored in your heart?”
Mu Yutong’s vocal register remained entirely flat, perfectly mimicking a detached observer as if the outcome of the query carried zero personal weight.
“I…”
A bright crimson flush spread across Ye Feng’s cheeks. While he was fully aware of his internal surrender to Mu Yuchen, vocalizing his submissive love for the older sister in front of the younger sibling triggered a massive wave of raw embarrassment.
“Is it my sister?”
“Mm…” Ye Feng hummed, dropping his gaze as a barely audible confirmation slipped past his lips.
“Heh.”
A soft, cynical chuckle escaped Mu Yutong’s throat. She could state with absolute certainty now that Du Xiaowen had been spewing absolute fabrications back in the bunker. To think she had actually let herself navigate a wave of anxiety over that secretary’s desperate claims.
It was completely laughable. That secretary was a bottom-feeding piece of garbage; how could this exquisite little man ever willingly choose her? Letting that woman’s unhinged words skew her internal data was a pathetic oversight.
“Miss, the individual who executed the primary extraction on the asset is a corporate secretary named Du Xiaowen. Her immediate superior and employer is Mu Yuchen.”
“Mu Yuchen… that name exists in my memory bank. My father flagged her profile once—stated she was an exceptionally lethal player in the corporate landscape.”
Murong Fanghua traced her jawline thoughtfully. If the target male asset was securely tied to Mu Yuchen’s ledger, the parameters of the acquisition operation just grew infinitely more complex. Deploying her current assets to systematically dismantle a conglomerate of that tier just to snatch a boy carried a significant margin of difficulty.
“Correct, Miss. Furthermore, our reconnaissance indicates that Du Xiaowen has been taking up continuous residence inside Mu Yuchen’s private estate over the past forty-eight hours.”
“What about the target male? Have you traced his lineage?”
“According to our deep dive into black-market transactions, the asset originated from a premium underground auction block. The proprietor of that establishment appears to have finalized a major non-disclosure deal with Mu Yuchen.”
“Set up a face-to-face with this auction director immediately. Additionally, deploy a surveillance team to outer perimeter coordinates of Mu Yuchen’s private villa. The exact second the male asset enters a line of sight, secure a high-resolution photographic capture for my personal review.”
“Acknowledged!”
Murong Fanghua stood flush against the floor-to-ceiling glass of her penthouse suite, staring down at the sprawling, neon-drenched metropolis. Her internal calculations were a storm of burning anticipation.
She was losing her mind waiting to visually verify the asset, desperate to confirm if his physical reality aligned with the parameters of her imagination. She had assumed immense geopolitical risks to cross borders for this hunt; if this boy fell short of her aesthetic threshold or wasted her operational timeline, she would personally execute him without a second thought.
Back in the villa, the exact second Mu Yutong finalized cleaning the dining utensils, she stepped back into the bunker and forcefully pinned Ye Feng onto the mattress.
Ye Feng’s mind registered the familiar sequence—he knew exactly what physical degradation was about to follow. But this time, he resolved to drop all physical resistance. He lay completely flat, letting his frame go entirely limp as she mounted his hips.
RIING! RIING!
Right as Mu Yutong was prepping to initiate the next physical phase, the high-pitched acoustic blast of her smartphone shattered the atmosphere, freezing her movements instantly.
Her brow furrowed in intense irritation. She reached for the device to forcefully terminate the call, but the moment her eyes mapped the caller ID on the display, her hand froze. She couldn’t afford to drop this specific transmission.
“Hold that thought, little pet. Let me process this call, and I’ll return to claim you immediately.”
Adjusting her disheveled loungewear, Mu Yutong stepped through the bunker exit, securing the steel door behind her before sliding the connect icon.
“Why the hell did your system take so long to accept my transmission?”
“I was occupied with a private matter. Is there a logical issue?” Mu Yutong’s tone turned ice-cold. If the choice were hers, she wouldn’t waste a single byte of data communicating with this individual.
“You… whatever. Let’s review the operational checklist. How is the asset extraction progressing? You’ve anchored yourself at that location for days without transferring a single scrap of intelligence.”
“I…”
Hearing the cold reprimand, Mu Yutong’s cognitive processing hit a wall. She had completely forgotten the primary objective that had validated her insertion into the villa in the first place. Her baseline mission had never been centered around Ye Feng; she was supposed to be mapping her older sister’s movements and systematically duplicating the core data files of Mu Yuchen’s active corporate megaproject.
She had been deployed as an industrial spy, yet her entire system had been hijacked by a boy.
“The infiltration parameters are highly complex. My sister has already initiated defensive firewalls and is actively monitoring my clearance levels.”
“Then amplify your caution. Ensure she doesn’t flag your behavioral metrics. Secure the core data blueprints as fast as humanly possible. You are fully aware that if she successfully launches this project, our faction will be permanently wiped from the board with zero chance of recovery.”
“Understood.”
Mu Yutong terminated the connection, aggressively clawing at her blonde hair as an intense wave of frustration short-circuited her mood. She cast a dark glare at the bunker door, then down at her device. Ultimately, she violently hurled the phone onto the sofa, spinning on her heel to bolt back down into the basement.
Channeling the entirety of her psychological stress into raw physical force, she subjected Ye Feng’s body to a relentless assault. Right now, she desperately needed to drown out the racing thoughts regarding her father and her mission.
Meanwhile, at a secure underground location, the atmosphere was thick with tension.
“The data indicates Mu Yuchen purchased a premium male s*ave from your establishment a while back. Is this accurate?”
“Based on what protocol am I required to share my client ledger with a rogue outfit like yours?”
“Oh, you’ll supply the data.”
Murong Fanghua let out a cold, venomous chuckle, executing a subtle hand gesture toward Qingning.
Without uttering a single word of warning, the suit-clad operative glided forward, locking her fingers around the auction director’s hand and violently bending her index finger backward past its natural anatomy.
CRACK!
“AAAGHH!”
“You crazy b*tch…”
The director stumbled back, cradling her ruptured joints, her eyes wide with sheer disbelief that a foreign operator possessed the audacity to enact physical trauma on her personal turf.
“Are the communication lines open now, or do we continue dismantling your fingers?”
“Talk? I’ll see you in hell first!”
The auction director wasn’t a low-tier player to be easily broken. A manic look of absolute ferocity flashed through her eyes as she drove a full-force tactical kick straight toward Murong Fanghua’s chest.
But an incoming strike cut through the air with far superior velocity—
