Join the ServerAs for the things mentioned earlier, Old Madam Lin still needed to prepare some of them.
Over at Lin Qinghuan’s side.
She wasn’t here to buy anything today. She was here to sell. Matches, lighters, and flashlights were rare goods.
Ordinary shops naturally couldn’t handle them, so she had to find bigger stores. Pawnshops, for example, where they had more silver and she could negotiate a better price.
In the end, she searched all of Pingyang County and only found two larger pawnshops and a shop called Tianji Pavilion.
This Tianji Pavilion was truly odd. The first floor sold ordinary farming tools like sickles. It had everything, but Lin Qinghuan felt that such a grand and imposing shop shouldn’t just sell these little things.
With questions in mind, she decided to go in and test the waters. If it was the kind of place she was looking for, she could talk business with the manager.
“This customer, what kind of farming tools do you need? We have everything here.” A person dressed as a shop assistant came forward and enthusiastically introduced Lin Qinghuan.
Lin Qinghuan only glanced around casually before looking away. “Don’t you have anything else here?”
Upon hearing her words, the shop assistant’s expression turned somewhat inscrutable. He didn’t say anything but gestured for Lin Qinghuan to follow, leading the way.
They went to an inner room. The shop assistant opened hidden compartments one by one. Countless mechanism boxes popped out.
Inside were exquisitely crafted short blades, arrows, and various concealed weapons.
Each one gleamed with cold light. They were clearly extraordinary.
Lin Qinghuan nodded in satisfaction. Good. At last, these things matched the name and appearance of the shop.
On the surface, Tianji Pavilion sold ordinary farm tools. But in reality, it hid secrets. Those in the know understood the underlying tricks, so when she asked, the shop assistant led her in.
“Take a look, miss. See if there’s anything you want. If not, we can go deeper.”
Lin Qinghuan was genuinely astonished. She hadn’t expected that even this wasn’t the core of Tianji Pavilion. There was more.
If even the short blades and arrows were made so exquisitely, how precious would the items inside be?
“I won’t look at the items for now. I have a business deal I’d like to discuss with your manager. Could you introduce me?”
The shop assistant looked at Lin Qinghuan with suspicion. He even suspected she was here to cause trouble.
What kind of place was Tianji Pavilion? Every item they made was a masterpiece, worth a fortune. Even the First Merchant Guild had been turned down when they sought cooperation with the Pavilion Master. Let alone a nobody like this woman.
Although he looked down on her in his heart, the shop assistant didn’t show it. They were all strictly trained not to show disdain or contempt for guests, as that would damage Tianji Pavilion’s image.
“Miss, do you have something to sell to Tianji Pavilion? You can show it to me first to assess its quality. If it’s confirmed to be good, then I’ll call the manager.”
Lin Qinghuan understood. Shops like this had their own rules. How could just anyone see the manager? That would be chaos.
So she wasn’t annoyed. She calmly took out the sample she had prepared and placed it in front of her.
“What is this?” The shop assistant picked it up and examined it, but couldn’t figure it out.
The thing was indeed strange. He had been at Tianji Pavilion for at least three years, if not five, yet he had never seen anything like it.
Lin Qinghuan first picked up a match and demonstrated it.
