Chapter 56: Granny Fu’s Kindness

Lin Qingyu knew his sister was going out to handle real business, so he didn’t refuse. He had been learning from his brother-in-law, and he was eager to soak up knowledge. He couldn’t bear to leave.

But Da Bao and Xiao Bao stared at Lin Qinghuan with pleading eyes.

He wants all of it. So I’d like you to find a few trustworthy people to dig these things up in the mountains. I’ll pay them by the catty. What do you think?”

They were still in the promotion stage, so she didn’t need too many people. As long as Granny Fu approved of them, they were sure to be steady and hardworking, good enough for now.

“Girl, these mushrooms, wood ear, and bamboo shoots aren’t worth anything. In the rainy season, they pile up in the mountains. Hardly anyone in our village even eats them. Are you sure that trader wants them?”

Granny Fu had lived this long and never heard that such things could be sold.

People who live on a mountain live off it. When they needed something from the mountain, they went in to find it and ate it. They had never thought about selling, because nobody bought it.

Lin Qinghuan had meant to set Granny Fu at ease, but Granny Fu frowned as soon as she heard that.
