Chapter 141 : Side Story 2: Jealousy #2

“…That happened yesterday.”

Doyoon was sitting across the dining table, idly playing with my left hand like it was a toy. He answered without looking up.

“I see.”

“I see?? That’s it?”

I stared at him, dumbfounded.

“Hey—this isn’t an ‘I see’ situation. We really need to be more careful.”

Doyoon just smiled.

“Wouldn’t it be easier to set Noona up with someone? Then she’d leave us alone.”

I let out a hollow laugh.

“Noona? With a man?”

“…Yeah, never mind.”

He nodded instantly, completely convinced.

Anyone who grew up watching our parents’ circus would need therapy before saying the word “marriage.” That chaos was exactly why the three of us got away with zero pressure to settle down. (Well, that and the fact that Mom already knows the truth and never breathes a word of it.)

Doyoon pressed each of my fingertips in order—thumb to pinky—then laced our fingers and kissed every knuckle.

“But how much more careful can we get? Different teams, different floors…”

He had a point.

We used to be glued together when I first came back to the company, but once I made team leader, we barely even had lunch together anymore. Doyoon, as executive director, had dinner meetings almost every night. The only thing we still did together was the morning commute.

Our newlywed fantasy only existed inside these four walls.

Still… I’d been avoiding family gatherings whenever Seunghee was around, terrified of slipping up.

I grimaced. “It still feels risky.”

Doyoon pouted like a sulking cat.

I cut him off before he could whine.

“I know, I know what you’re worried about. So—what do you want to do?”

“…”

I opened my mouth and nothing came out.

There was literally nothing left to hide. He wore the ring I gave him on his finger; I wore his on a chain around my neck. Different designs, zero chance of anyone connecting the dots.

Frustration bubbled up.

What the hell else were we supposed to do?

Doyoon read my face.

“Honestly… we don’t need to overthink something the vice chairman threw out without thinking. She’ll forget she even said it by tomorrow. She just wants to separate us because she hates me. You know that.”

I flinched—he hit the nail on the head.

“She… doesn’t hate everyone.”

Silence.

I cleared my throat awkwardly.

He wasn’t wrong. Seunghee’s words weren’t the problem; her instincts were terrifying.

I’d almost had a heart attack yesterday.

I’d considered telling her the truth a few times this past year, but every time, cold logic slapped me: Don’t rock a boat that’s sailing just fine.

She’s still our sister either way.

I nodded. “Still, better safe than sorry.”

Doyoon sighed like a man sentenced to death, shoulders slumping.

“…I’ll do whatever Hyung wants.”

I thought for a long moment, frowning.

“The best cover would probably be… pretending we’re each dating someone else.”

Doyoon froze mid-nibble on my finger.

He looked up, eyes huge, voice cracking.

“Hyung, how could you say that?!”

“It’s just talk!”

I didn’t actually think Seunghee would figure it out—she thinks inside the box. But I’d been on edge ever since yesterday, like I needed air.

Doyoon dropped my hand like it burned, slid over to my side, and gave me the saddest puppy face known to man.

“…I’m never leaving you. And I’m not letting anyone else near you. Not even a fake boyfriend.”

“Doyoon-ah, calm down.”

He buried his face in my shoulder, voice muffled.

I knew I’d gone too far.

“Just… if anyone asks, we say we’re seeing someone. That’s all. Apparently Seunghee’s been turning down blind dates for both of us. One little rumor and they’ll all back off. You know how annoying those are.”

My stomach twisted again remembering she’d said Doyoon was getting offers too.

Doyoon still looked sulky, but he nodded reluctantly.

“Fine… but Hyung, sometimes you’re too rational…”

Of course I hated saying it.

The thought of him even pretending to date someone else made me want to punch a wall.

I ruffled his hair out of habit.

He nuzzled into my shoulder, mumbling.

“I don’t want Hyung in trouble either. I don’t want people gossiping. As long as I can be with you forever like this, I’m happy.”

My heart squeezed.

Sometimes he talked like dating me was the greatest miracle of his life—especially since we finally managed to have s*x last year. The gratitude leaked out of him constantly.

I kissed his forehead.

“I know. Just… careful in public, okay?”

Suddenly he pulled back, eyes sparkling like stars.

“Then… right now is fine, right?”

“Huh?”

“We’re alone.”

“Oh—”

I barely got the syllable out before his lips were on mine.

Soft at first—then slow, deep, filthy.

His thick arm locked around my waist; the other slid under my ass and lifted.

Next thing I knew, I was on my back on the dining table again.

He blinked down at me with wet eyes.

“…I’ve been dying to do this since you started talking seriously.”

“Wai— ngh!”

My shirt was already rucked up under my armpits.

He licked a hot stripe across my nipple like it was dessert.

“You get wet so fast… it’s obscene.”

My face burned.

“Not on the table again, you always—!”

I couldn’t finish.

Every slow kiss along my collarbone stole my breath.

Whimpers slipped out before I could stop them.

He loves my flat chest for some reason, and watching him lose it over my body was the biggest turn-on.

I wrapped my arms around his neck; he yanked my pants down in one motion.

I was already leaking.

He dropped to his knees, swallowed me whole.

“Nngh—!”

I slapped a hand over my eyes.

He worked me like candy until I was throbbing, then pulled off and jerked me slowly.

I shuddered hard.

He grabbed one ankle, pushed my leg up, spread me open.

The cool air on my hole made me clench.

He smeared my own precome around the rim, slick and messy.

The only thing I was still wearing was the T-shirt bunched uselessly above my chest.

I could only imagine how I looked right now—face on fire.
