Join the ServerSong Qingyao kicked the wooden door open and strode inside. Her eyes immediately fell on Song Zhiyou, who stood deep within the room with her back turned, seemingly occupied with something.
A strange, eerie aura filled the entire room. Song Qingyao wrinkled her nose in distaste and glanced around.
Just then, a faint, ghostly voice sounded.
“Song Qingyao…”
Song Qingyao spun around abruptly.
A face slammed into her field of vision without warning.
Pale. Devoid of any trace of life.
Yet across that pallid canvas, a grotesque web of dark and vivid red bloodstains meandered, even dripping downward in an uncanny manner.
The stark contrast of red and white made Song Qingyao’s breath catch.
Next second.
A cold, slippery hand landed on her shoulder, leaving a glaring bloodied handprint.
At the same time, Song Zhiyou’s weak, spectral voice reached her ears.
“You… were looking for me?”
Song Qingyao: “!!!”
Song Qingyao: “Aaaaah!”
The scream nearly ruptured Song Zhiyou’s eardrums. She frowned and slapped her hand over Song Qingyao’s mouth.
“What are you howling about?”
Song Zhiyou looked at Song Qingyao.
The little girl appeared to be about ten years old, with slightly upturned apricot eyes, exuding a mix of naive charm and arrogance.
But now, with her mouth covered and smeared with wet blood, the pungent scent of blood assaulted her senses, utterly deflating her.
Only then did she seem to realize that the figure before her was not some female ghost, but Song Zhiyou! Yet that realization only made her face turn even paler.
“Song… Song Zhiyou, how did you end up like this?”
“How did I end up like this…” Song Zhiyou took a sharp breath, her throat raw from the mixture of medicinal residue and blood. “Don’t you know?”
Hearing Song Zhiyou’s hoarse, inhuman voice, Song Qingyao’s pupils trembled. The ominous premonition grew stronger.
It seemed that Song Zhiyou… was badly hurt by her.
Next second, a pair of hands pressed onto her shoulders again. Song Zhiyou leaned in, her voice, as if on the verge of death, whispered into Song Qingyao’s ear.
“Song Qingyao… you’ve made me suffer so much…”
After saying that, she suddenly stumbled and collapsed onto Song Qingyao, blood spurting out. Song Qingyao panicked and caught Song Zhiyou, her face ashen.
Trembling, she pulled out a medicine bottle. She tried to pour out the pills, but her hands were unsteady, and she dropped them several times. In a moment of desperation, Song Qingyao simply pried open Song Zhiyou’s mouth and shoved the entire bottle in.
“Song Zhiyou, don’t you know to take pills when you’re injured?! Didn’t the elder teach you anything? All wasted!”
“Don’t tell me you’ve run out—the family distributes them every month!”
When she saw the remaining half of a Yangyuan Herb on the table, Song Qingyao’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“Song Zhiyou, are you insane? Why not take proper Yangyuan Pills? Why would you swallow raw spiritual plants?”
Could it be that this was the secret to how Song Zhiyou, at the fourth layer of Qi Refining, had been suppressing her, at the fifth layer? For a moment, Song Qingyao’s mind was a tangled mess.
Contrary to the legendary instant dissolution, several pills got stuck in Song Zhiyou’s throat, mixed with blood. They wouldn’t go up or down.
Originally, Song Zhiyou had only wanted to disgust and scare the kid who had come to flaunt her superiority. But now, she was genuinely choking!
Song Zhiyou’s hand trembled as she raised it. “Song… don’t…” *Stop feeding me, help me up, I’m going to choke to death!*
Farewell?
Song Qingyao shuddered. The tears she had been holding back finally fell uncontrollably. She pressed down on Song Zhiyou’s shoulders and shook her violently.
“Song Zhiyou, you… don’t die… saying farewell… you bastard…”
Song Zhiyou was shaken so hard she nearly passed out. But paradoxically, the shaking helped the pills go down. The pure, gentle energy surged in, and blood again bubbled from Song Zhiyou’s throat, and fine beads of blood seeped from her skin, unstoppable. But surprisingly, Song Zhiyou felt no pain. She could feel the pills healing her internal injuries and cleansing accumulated toxins.
Song Zhiyou knew this, but Song Qingyao didn’t. To Song Qingyao, Song Zhiyou now looked like a complete blood-soaked figure.
“Song Zhiyou, I… I’m sorry. I should have trained more. If I had tried harder, my spiritual power wouldn’t have gone out of control… and I wouldn’t have killed you…”
“Song Zhiyou… wuwuwu I don’t want to beat you anymore, just come back to life, okay…”
Song Qingyao sobbed uncontrollably. She knew she should let Song Zhiyou rest in peace, but looking at the body in her arms, she couldn’t let go.
Song Zhiyou was rolling her eyes from being choked, but she still clearly heard Song Qingyao’s words.
“That day… your spiritual power went out of control?”
In the novel, this child Song Qingyao was described as purely malicious.
Even with the lowest quality Yangyuan Herbs, the original owner had managed to cultivate through sheer effort and talent. She had gone all out this time to win the cultivation resources awarded to the top scorer. Unfortunately… Song Qingyao had burst out at the last moment and severely wounded her.
Song Zhiyou originally thought that Song Qingyao had been training hard and unleashed a big move. But she never expected it to be a loss of control over spiritual power…
But was this really an accidental loss of control, or some kind of mysterious plot force? Song Zhiyou was skeptical.
In the novel, when Song Lingtian returned and discovered that Song Zhiyou’s foundation was destroyed, he gouged out Song Qingyao’s spiritual root and tore out her bones. It was then that he discovered that hidden within Song Qingyao’s mid-grade water spiritual root was an extremely rare ice spiritual root. The originally weak ice spiritual root, after years of cultivation, had been nurtured quite well but had never been discovered. Every time the cold poison erupted in her body, Song Qingyao thought she was sick, an incurable disease.
Song Zhiyou couldn’t use it. Song Lingtian needed it. Song Lingtian used it.
Hmph.
What a great revenge for his sister. What an unlucky cannon fodder tool child.
“Ye… yes! *hiccup* Song… Song Zhiyou, you’re alive?!”
Song Qingyao suddenly snapped back to reality. Opening her eyes, she saw Song Zhiyou staring at her with a strange expression. Song Qingyao understood immediately.
Her initial surprise was instantly replaced by defiance. She glared fiercely at Song Zhiyou.
“Ye… yes, so what? Don’t get cocky, Song Zhiyou. I’ll still beat you next time!”
Next time, she would win fair and square and not give Song Zhiyou a chance to mock her for relying on luck. Wiping away her tears and snot, Song Qingyao got up in shame and anger, rushed out the door, and disappeared.
Song Zhiyou looked bewildered.
What’s wrong with this kid now?
Left alone, Song Zhiyou didn’t bother getting up. She wriggled around on the ground looking for the pills. She remembered that Song Qingyao had dropped several pills on the floor earlier. It hadn’t been thirty minutes yet, so they were still edible. There were three pills total: two Yangyuan Pills and one Coagulation Pill.
She treasured them all, picking them up and resting a bit before tending to the messy room. She went to a corner, picked out the largest piece of paper produced by her spirit art, and began to wipe away the dirt and bloodstains. The paper couldn’t hold any ink marks, and similarly, no dirt could stick to it. No, rather than saying it couldn’t, it was more like it directly devoured them. It was perfect for wiping floors and tables.
If it weren’t for the constant threat of Song Lingtian killing his sister to ascend, Song Zhiyou would have opened a cleaning shop, selling these stain-proof, wash-free cloth papers. As Song Zhiyou wiped, blood and grime disappeared. After finishing, the entire wooden hut looked brand new.
Song Zhiyou put her hands on her hips and nodded in satisfaction. Just as she was about to fold the paper for later use, her eyes suddenly froze on the paper.
