At that moment, for Theresia and Theodore, nothing could have been more captivating than that slightly frivolous sound.
Promen, it seemed, also understood that if he didn’t eliminate Theodore now, he might truly lose his chance.
After accelerating his body with divine magic, he lunged violently towards Theodore, who was now barely breathing. His sharp demonic claws aimed directly for Theodore’s head.
However, the ground beneath them suddenly rose without warning.
Promen found himself instantly soaring a thousand meters into the sky.
A vibrant bird then flapped its wings, landing on this elevated platform, and transformed into an enchantingly beautiful woman.
Promen recognized this figure all too well; it was Samuel.
“Is this your true form this time?”
Promen narrowed his eyes. The oppressive aura emanating from her made him realize this woman was far from simple.
If the outside world had already lost the ability to use divine power, then this woman, capable of using pseudo-divine magic at will, was certainly among the most formidable experts out there.
“Oh my, esteemed Lord Promen, I apologize that my clone couldn’t fully satisfy you. So, this time, I’ve come personally. I will certainly give my all to ensure your satisfaction, Lord Promen.”
Samuel’s suggestive words, combined with her alluring figure and charming face, made one suspect she was a succubus.
Yet, her specialty was vastly different from a succubus’s. It was fiery and passionate, with multiple alchemically fused magic circles unfolding beneath her feet.
Samuel ignited a ball of black flame at her fingertips, and with a mere puff, it erupted.
Like gasoline poured onto a fire, the black flame surged skyward, transforming into a black fire dragon that charged towards Promen.
Promen flapped his wings, attempting to flee the battlefield, but Samuel merely gestured, and the sky instantly whipped up a furious gale, howling towards Promen.
Chains formed from the fierce wind destabilized Promen’s movements, while the black fire dragon, in its element, became even more brazen.
He tore the black fire dragon apart with his divine claws, but Promen found that his own sharp claws had been largely corroded. Though he channeled divine power to recover, the speed of regeneration was incredibly slow.
Promen: ‘…’
He loathed such enemies.
As a soldier, or rather, a vanguard, Promen was designed to charge into battle, not to engage in tricks with these circus magicians.
This was precisely why the ‘Conquest Team’ had previously managed to trap and restrain Promen so effectively, using highly annoying but not necessarily lethal magic, traps, or bloodline abilities.
At that time, all Promen could do was rely on his divine power, divine magic, and experience to discern their methods, then force his way through.
However, this method was highly inefficient.
Fortunately, before the Conquest Team, the unexpected attack on Sobo had resolved him, leaving him either dead or incapacitated.
But the Samuel who arrived afterward was even more troublesome than the entire Conquest Team combined!
Luckily, Samuel also had no immediate way to kill Promen.
“(╯°Д°)╯︵ ┻━┻”
Promen was furious. He fought against Samuel’s alchemy-infused magic while pondering a countermeasure.
Their divine-made beings’ minds were not swayed by emotion; this was his design. Thus, Promen hadn’t forgotten that Theodore was still his primary target.
‘I still need to find an opportunity!’
“Is this divine power?”
Her delicate nose sniffed the divine power permeating the air. This was the first time Samuel’s true form had experienced divine power in an activated state.
Such high-purity magic had even surpassed quantitative change, reaching a qualitative transformation.
Only with this level of energy could one effortlessly use alchemy without worrying about significant repercussions.
But how was this energy generated? Such things didn’t exist in the outside world.
Samuel was incredibly curious. There must be a device within the labyrinth continuously producing divine power. If she could find it and mass-produce it, it could potentially overturn the current magical system, allowing civilizations reliant on alchemy or divine magic to flourish from barbarism.
Promen himself was an invaluable treasure to alchemists, immeasurable by any material means. He was a creation of a deity, possessing such complete consciousness, wisdom, and a powerful physique. This was undoubtedly the realm of human alchemy!
‘A super-rare, invincible collectible figure!’
Samuel’s eyes gleamed with fanaticism. She was prepared for her current body to be severely damaged. As long as she could endure long enough to deliver Promen to her alchemy workshop, nothing else mattered.

“Wow, wife, look, the Old Patriarch is fighting!”
Lying on his side, Theodore pointed at Promen and Samuel battling in the sky, nudging Theresia, who lay beside him.
Theresia didn’t even want to move a finger. “Who are you calling ‘wife’? Single dogs are truly terrifying; their minds are full of delusions.”
Though Theodore could barely breathe, he retorted with a stubborn voice, “Heh, but I’m a single dog who has experienced growth. Guess who helped me grow?”
“Heh, growth? Do you have memories?” Theresia scoffed.
“What do you think I came here for this time? Wasn’t it to refresh my memories?” Larkin replied.
“Is that so? Refresh one for me to see now, then!” Theresia challenged.
“Not now, the location isn’t right. Let’s have a grand battle of three hundred rounds once we’re out.” Larkin declared.
One human, one dragon: “Heheheh.”
“Uh, can we put off your bickering for a bit? Can’t you two return to your normal forms? It’s incredibly troublesome trying to apply medicine to you like this.”
Larkin interrupted the lovers’ quarrel. He was painstakingly applying medicinal paste to Theresia’s dragon body and Theodore’s human arms and legs.
He had just finished applying the healing potion, only to be fed a mouthful of their public display of affection. Was it easy for him?
“Can’t change back. If we change back, it’s over.”
Theodore explained, “Our current bodies are our true forms, compressed by magic. Our magic is too depleted from our severe injuries. If we try to use shapeshifting magic now, it will only worsen our wounds.”
“In other words,” Larkin added, “these monstrous beings have been forced back into their original forms.”
[Every creature has magic within its body; even if one primarily cultivates battle qi, magic is still one of the necessary components of life, and battle qi is the same.]
Larkin sighed, saying, “Alright then… I don’t mind helping you sprinkle healing potions like an old farmer watering his crops. But Miss Theresia, could you please stop looking at me like I’m a monster? Honestly, it’s making me a little scared.”
Theresia said gravely, “Larkin, this is your moment to prove your loyalty. Later, apply some medicine to this fellow. If you do this well, I will reward you handsomely.”
Theodore sneered, “Brother, don’t believe her. I am the biggest victim, I tell you. This wicked dragon turns her back on anyone once she’s had her way. Besides, she has no soldiers left to command, but you must already be aware of my companions’ status.
Now is the time to make your choice. Larkin, you’re a smart man; you understand.”
“Who says she has none? I, Lola, am here! Who dares to cause trouble!”
Aelfin loli descended from the sky, landing on Theresia’s head. With her hands on her hips, she glared majestically at Theodore and Larkin.
Larkin: “???”
Had he just been passively assigned to a faction?
“Lola, you’ve arrived just in time!”
Theresia was so excited that her wounds burst open, yet she paid them no mind. “Larkin, what are you waiting for?! This is a perfect opportunity for you to atone for your past mistakes!”
Larkin asked, somewhat confused, “Atonement? Did I do something wrong? Haven’t I always been very passive?”
Theresia’s dragon eyes fixed on Larkin, and she said in a low voice, “It was you who tried to seduce Lola before, almost leaving me at the mercy of this beast, Theodore! Did you think I would forget that?!”
Larkin paused for two seconds, pondering what Theresia was saying, then suddenly understood, clapping his hand. “No, I thought you were genuinely planning a righteous cavalry duel with Theodore back then! Whatever I said wouldn’t have interfered.”
Theresia glared at him, saying, “How dare you insult me?!”
‘What do you mean by ‘playing dirty’? Isn’t it only natural for a black dragon to do such things? How can you say I play dirty?! Now that Lola has arrived, you should understand how to choose, right?’
Larkin looked at Theodore, heartbroken. “Theodore, if it were just my personal matter, I would definitely support you. But the problem is, I carry the earnest hopes my Imperial Father bestowed upon me.
…”
“What’s all this commotion about?”
Before Larkin could finish speaking, Aesop and Alicia arrived together. They had just gone to check on the Conquest Team members.
“The Conquest Team members are mostly fine. While not entirely unscathed, they seem to have been adequately protected. Their lives are not in danger; they’ve merely fainted.”
Theodore then summoned a small dragon, saying forcefully, “Larkin, you see? Although they appear mostly unharmed, only temporarily unconscious, this is merely because they were lucky and weren’t caught in the crossfire.
If their luck had been bad, the entire Conquest Team might have been wiped out.”
Theodore smiled faintly, speaking weakly, “Larkin, I can now carefully consider what I’m about to say to you. If my memories haven’t been erased, I’m quite fond of tattling.”
“You wouldn’t want to offend the Dragon Clan Chief, would you?”
Seeing Theodore’s reinforcements arrive, Theresia quickly shouted, regardless of quality or numerical equality, “Don’t listen to him!”
“I’ll put in a good word for you with the Chief!”
“Larkin, understand this: I am the one with the Chief’s backing!”
“Her? Ha, empty words. Do you really believe her? She’s a dragon on the Old Patriarch’s blacklist. That’s why the Old Patriarch ordered me to ‘discipline’ her.”
“Trust me, Larkin…”
“Trust me, don’t trust him…”
Larkin silently flew over to Alicia, earnestly asking her, “Before I have a psychotic episode, how about you knock me out? Remove this unstable element?”
Alicia, considering their past as teammates, granted him relief.
“…”
The once-feared Evil Dragon, severely wounded, possessed such little deterrent power.
Did the Evil Dragon still command prestige? Did *she* still command prestige?
‘The world is truly going downhill.’
Sighing, Theresia kicked Theodore beside her in frustration.
Theodore kicked back.
Theresia kicked back again.
The two colossal beings engaged in childish antics, finding endless amusement in it.
She sighed heavily. ‘What kind of enemies are these? Isn’t this just a beautiful romance?’
‘Or perhaps she was merely a cog in the wheel of this human and dragon’s story.’
Alicia watched the interaction of the foolish couple with great interest, poking Aesop’s waist and saying, “Mr. Aesop, they are so affectionate!”
Aesop said nervously, “Yes, you’re too close. Even though you saved my life, I’m an entertainer, not for sale.”
Alicia covered her mouth, chuckling softly. “Oh? I didn’t say anything, Mr. Aesop. Why did your mind go in that direction? Really, you’re too eager!”
Aesop replied, “It seems unless I personally show you my passion for cooking and my determination to dedicate my life to it, you won’t give up on me. Come to the kitchen with me for two weeks after this, and I’ll show you what a true cooking fanatic is!”
Alicia blinked. “Mr. Aesop’s sudden date invitation is unexpected, but I accept.”
“This isn’t a date,” Aesop explained weakly. Just then, a violent explosion erupted in the sky, and a figure rapidly approached them.
‘Damn it!’
It was Promen, only his upper body remaining!
