Chapter 78: A Dragon’s Dance and a Kiss of Light

The moment Promen appeared, Theresia instantly stiffened.

There was a deep-seated hatred between her and Promen.

She had been targeted three times, and subsequently, Promen had brutally beaten her.

This resentment still simmered within her.

“You want to give him to me? No problem, I’ll dance for you.”

Theresia, of course, knew the Dragon Dance and performed it exceptionally well.

In previous years, she had often been the grand finale at the Dragon Clan’s year-end celebration.

She wasn’t some timid creature; she felt no shame in performing the Dragon Dance.

Having been reborn as a Black Dragon, she naturally lived to be the center of attention, flaunting her power.

However, the dragons performing at the clan’s celebration received a considerable appearance fee, with the finale dragon earning even more.

Thus, the sentiment remained: if one wished to see her Dragon Dance, it would require additional payment.

And now, Theodore’s offer of ‘additional payment’ aligned perfectly with Theresia’s desires. Her mind was already conjuring a hundred ways to assemble LEGO bricks.

Surely Promen could withstand such torment? She had long yearned to play with living LEGO bricks.

Theodore chuckled. ‘Well, well, quite the audacious demand, aren’t we?’

It was a joke. Promen was a colossal treasure trove.

Even if he had to share in the end, Theresia would first have to share with him.

At that point, what would be the difference between them?

What was so fun about Promen? Dragons were far better.

“No, you’re overthinking it. I can let you play with him for one night, but I’ll take him back the next day.”

Theresia’s eyes widened as she questioned, “Do you know my performance fee?!”

“I don’t, but I know this thing in my hand is unique. Can you find a substitute?”

Theresia fell silent.

Indeed, there was no one else who had offended her so deeply, yet remained so full of life. Only this one.

With lightning speed, Theresia threw a punch, attempting to catch Theodore off guard. However, Theodore, knowing her every move, saw through it all, leaving her to strike at empty air.

Theresia pouted, then said, “Light novel? Got it. Give it to me.”

Theodore glanced around. “You dance first? There’s no one here anyway.”

Theresia asked meaningfully, “You want me to dance in N? Are you sure?”

“Will it be a grand spectacle?”

“First, find an open space,” Theresia said, surveying her surroundings. “If you wish to witness a perfect Dragon Dance, prepare a clearing no smaller than the heart of the City of Light.”

“This agreement is only valid tonight. If you haven’t found a suitable space by morning, you still have to give Promen to me. Otherwise, you’ll never see my Dragon Dance in this lifetime.”

Theodore’s mouth twitched slightly. He truly hadn’t realized the Dragon Dance required such a vast area.

However, considering Theresia’s brief description of the dance and the dragons’ immense size, the space indeed couldn’t be small.

But this wasn’t Dragon Island. Where could he find such a massive empty plot of land?

Just as Theodore was lost in thought, Theresia suddenly called out, “It’s almost time, we should go.”

****

It was the Kiss of Light.

Adherents would exchange blessings by the grand fountain outside the church, gently kissing each other’s foreheads, symbolizing the transmission of light and hope.

Initially, Theresia had absolutely no interest in such activities.

But who was she to refuse the request of a cute little loli to partake in the Kiss of Light ceremony with her?

The faithful surrounding Theodore and Theresia began to exchange blessings. They were either relatives, friends, or lovers.

Theresia (in her human form) watched the scene with amusement. She subtly glanced at Theodore beside her.

He stood by her side with an upright demeanor, his gaze straight ahead, scanning their surroundings to help Theresia locate the little loli.

It seemed the previous kiss had satisfied his desires, so he had no intention of causing more mischief.

Theresia thought, ‘Hmm, how annoying.’

People were strange. They found it irritating when others paid attention, but even more irritating when they didn’t.

Theresia was currently experiencing this peculiar psychology.

She didn’t know Theodore was holding back a brilliant plan; she only knew she needed to make him understand that she wasn’t someone to be flirted with or ignored at his whim!

‘If you won’t flirt with me, I’ll flirt with you!’

Theresia rubbed her face, her expression instantly shifting from annoyance to allure.

‘Hmph, isn’t it just seducing a man?’

‘And who understands men better than another man?!’

Theresia slowly moved closer to Theodore, taking his hand and placing it between her breasts, holding it there. Under Theodore’s shocked gaze, she stood on tiptoe, leaned into his ear, and cooed, “Shall we have one too?”

Theodore was utterly bewildered. ‘Wait, who are you? My massive Black Dragon just got swapped out in plain sight?’

Theresia advanced, but Theodore felt as if the sky was falling. He didn’t immediately respond, instead feigning ignorance as he asked, “Have what?”

Seeing Theodore’s wary and startled expression, Theresia felt a surge of triumph. He thought she would only passively react, but he hadn’t expected this.

“My dear, are you playing~ dumb~?”

Theresia’s lips were almost touching Theodore’s earlobe, the warm breath constantly assailing him. Theodore felt a little disoriented.

Though he couldn’t move, the feeling of being embraced was truly pleasant, so soft. It would be even more exhilarating, surely.

‘Wait, what was he thinking?’

It was disrupting his rhythm.

‘What was happening?’

Should he take Theresia to the Holy Light Church for a check-up, or should he climb up the pole?

‘Could there be a trap?’

‘Perhaps her lips were poisoned?!’

As Theodore’s mind raced, his gaze suddenly caught sight of a figure, and he instantly calmed down. He needed to understand the situation before acting.

His opponent was Theresia; he couldn’t be careless.

This was someone with a notorious track record.

“Theresia, she’s here. Let’s go.”

With that, Theodore didn’t withdraw his hands, which were still deeply nestled in her softness. He simply led Theresia forward.

‘Heh heh.’

Theresia subtly revealed a triumphant smile. ‘This move, it works!’

Now, she just needed to be careful with the scale, ensuring she didn’t get herself too deeply involved.

‘It was her turn!’

The little loli, whose name was Dolly, pursed her lips and stared intently at the exceptionally sweet-looking Theresia and Theodore, asking, “Are Sister and Big Brother lovers?”

“We…”

Just as Theodore opened his mouth, Theresia quickly interjected, “Yes, we are! Big Brother and I are deeply in love.”

As she spoke, she leaned her head against Theodore’s shoulder, her eyes half-closed in a blissful expression.

Theodore felt a shiver run down his spine.

‘No, he couldn’t remain so passive.’

He needed to regain control.

A glint flashed in Theodore’s eyes, and he was about to become more aggressive, when Theresia suddenly released him. She knelt down and gently stroked Dolly’s chubby little face.

“Little angel, would you like to exchange New Year’s blessings with me?”

Dolly’s parents were church staff. The days others enjoyed holidays were their busiest, which meant their child hadn’t exchanged blessings. Through a twist of fate, they had found Theresia.

Theodore was speechless.

Undeniably, Theresia’s move was brilliant.

‘Very well, woman, you have piqued my interest, ignited my fighting spirit, and awakened my ambition.’

Dolly’s eyes sparkled as she looked at Theresia. “I would love to, Sister!”

The pure, untainted white light made the outwardly glamorous, inwardly mischievous Theresia almost unable to meet her gaze.

Theresia knelt, gently touching the girl’s forehead, and the little girl excitedly hugged Theresia, kissing her forehead in return.

The little girl’s eyes instantly sparkled. She tightly hugged Theresia’s neck, rubbing her face against Theresia’s.

“Thank you, Super Beautiful Sister!”

Theresia narrowed her eyes. ‘Ah, what a cute little loli!’

‘Soft, sweet, and fragrant.’

‘It would be even better if ‘beautiful’ could be changed to ‘handsome’.’

Though her current attire was anything but handsome.

However, the blissful moment did not last long. The little girl innocently stated, “Big Sister, you and Big Brother should quickly exchange the blessing kiss!”

Theresia’s expression instantly froze. ‘Why did this child have to be so perceptive?’

Yet, to avoid appearing too inconsistent with her earlier self, Theresia feigned composure, asking with a smile, “Why should I exchange it with him?”

Dolly replied matter-of-factly, “Because Big Sister only exchanged a blessing kiss with me. Big Brother hasn’t received his blessing yet!”

Theodore silently gave Dolly a thumbs-up.

Theresia, her expression unchanged, picked up Dolly and gently swayed her in front of Theodore. “My dear little friend, you would surely be willing to share your blessing with Big Brother, wouldn’t you?”

The little girl quickly covered her mouth, her voice muffled and indistinct as she said, “No, I can’t. If I do, the blessing I received from Sister will transfer to Big Brother.”

Theresia stated matter-of-factly, “Then Sister also doesn’t want to transfer the blessing from lovely Dolly to this naughty Big Brother.”

The little girl then pouted and said, “That’s not right! Sister’s blessing comes from the God of Light, and it’s endless. So Sister can bless many, many people.”

Theresia’s eyes widened as she asked, “There’s such a rule?”

Theodore and Dolly nodded simultaneously.

Theresia was speechless.

A glint flashed in Theodore’s eyes.

‘Indeed, just a paper tiger…’

Before this thought could fully dissipate from his mind, he caught a whiff of fragrant air. Immediately after, a warm and soft body pressed into his embrace. A delicate hand gently pressed the back of his head, causing him to lower it slightly. Then, a damp sensation touched his forehead.

She actually did it?!
