Important things must be said three times!
Theresia’s cheeks were flushed, and she could feel her heart pounding rapidly.
However, it was all worth it.
Hadn’t Theodore already been completely dumbfounded?
Heh.
To achieve extraordinary feats, one must employ extraordinary methods.
To control Theodore’s actions, she had to act before he did.
“My dear Theodore, it’s your turn.”
“My turn for what?”
Currently, Theodore’s brain had regressed to the level of a Qila monkey. He foolishly asked Theresia, who was still clinging to him.
Hmph, *nailed it*.
Theresia’s heart sneered subtly at his reaction.
She whispered softly into Theodore’s ear, “Of course, it’s to give me your blessing. Dolly is watching, you know.”
Theodore tilted his head slightly, discovering Dolly with both hands covering her flushed cheeks. Her gaze peeked through her fingers, watching them with a look of surprise and anticipation.
Even with his thick skin, he couldn’t help but feel his face burn.
The main reason was Theresia’s overly enthusiastic cooperation.
This interaction, perfectly mirroring a couple in the throes of new love, was a bit much for this hot-blooded young giant, who was still mentally a virgin, to handle.
‘Had Theresia had a change of heart?’
Such a thought popped into Theodore’s mind.
He was indeed a bit confused now. If Theresia was truly willing to turn over a new leaf, perhaps he should be gentler, treating her like any ordinary girl.
With this thought, Theodore took a deep breath and cupped Theresia’s face.
Theresia’s bright, watery eyes gazed at him with deep affection.
Originally, he had intended to orchestrate some minor ‘accidents’—perhaps a deliberate brush of lips, a gentle pinch of her cheek, or a subtle sniff of her scent.
But now, the very thought filled him with guilt.
So, Theodore solemnly kissed Theresia’s forehead, then, after a brief moment of tenderness, he released her.
Though the entire process lasted no more than ten seconds, Theodore felt as if he had lifted a colossal boulder, exhaling a heavy sigh of relief.
What he didn’t know was that Theresia also let out a significant sigh of relief, her tightly clenched fists finally relaxing.
If Theodore had made any superfluous moves just now, it would have been an instant ‘inch-strike to the heavens’.
Theresia couldn’t precisely gauge the power she had accumulated, but she estimated that even if her recovery ability prevented a fatal blow, she would likely have needed to go to bed early that night.
After all, she certainly wasn’t trying to turn this into a real thing.
‘Sure enough, Theodore is a good man. A good man needs to be approached gently.’
*Cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle.*
Unaware of the wicked thoughts brewing in a certain bad woman’s mind, Theodore was currently basking in Dolly’s cheers.
Dolly cheered excitedly, “Big Brother, congratulations! You’ve also received the Nun’s blessing.”
Theodore’s face broke into a wide smile as he contentedly told Dolly, “Thank you, my lovely little Dolly. There’s good food for sale over there. Shall Big Brother buy you some?”
Dolly’s eyes sparkled as she exclaimed, “Yay!”
Theodore then turned to Theresia, who was observing them with a doting smile, and asked, “Theresia, I’m going to buy Dolly some food. Want to come along?”
Theresia blinked, feigning a thoughtful expression, before finally shaking her head with a hint of regret. “I ate too much just now. Please rest here, Mister. You two go quickly and come back soon.”
Because of Theresia’s earlier docility and cooperation, Theodore didn’t overthink it. He nodded and left with Dolly.
Theresia watched Theodore and Dolly gradually disappear into the distance. Only when their figures were completely out of sight did she sway towards a roadside bench, then collapsed onto it, as if all strength had drained from her body.
‘Finally, I have some time to myself.’
The impact of that recent interaction wasn’t just on Theodore; it was on Theresia herself.
‘How shameful!’
‘Just thinking about it makes me want to end my dragon life.’
‘That hateful Old Patriarch, doing such a thing without permission.’
‘Does he think this will make me lay dragon eggs?’
‘Heh, he underestimates me too much.’
‘Even if, by some miracle, Theodore actually managed to sway me!’
‘Given the dragon race’s fertility, the probability is minuscule.’
‘A dragon egg? She wouldn’t lay one even if it killed her!’
‘She said it!’
Moreover, she had nearly lost control before because she was in the dark while her enemy was clear. This time, Theodore’s threat was thrown directly in her face, blatant and undeniable.
How could she allow Theodore to succeed again?
Theresia knew that being soft alone wouldn’t suffice. To ensure she didn’t accidentally lose more than just a battle one day, she needed something *hard*.
‘Transforming into a giant is impressive, is it?’
‘Having battle techniques specifically against dragons is impressive, is it?’
‘Heh, you underestimate me too much.’
‘I’ll make Theodore’s alliance crumble from within!’
“Come forth, great Darkspawn, Promen!”
As a thoroughly pickled salted fish, Promen’s current state was one of merely existing, looking like a ragged mendicant ready to renounce the world.
He sat idly in Theresia’s palm, appearing utterly indifferent. “Just do whatever you want to do quickly. I can’t stand looking at your face right now.”
Theresia wanted nothing more than to clench her hand and knead this creature into a dough ball.
However, she was a dragon who considered the bigger picture.
“Promen, as the great Black Dragon King, I am dedicated to a wonderful dragon life of freedom, carefree existence, and doing as I please. I plan to forcibly retire the current Dragon Island Lord after the Sage, and keep them living in my home, gazing up at my nostrils.”
“But I’ve encountered a small difficulty, and perhaps you can offer some assistance.”
Promen looked at Theresia like a Qila monkey. “Huh? Have you gone mad in your sleep? Dreaming, are we? No help from me. If you need a pick-me-up, I can unleash my years of scolding expertise and make your hair stand on end instantly.”
A vein pulsed faintly on Theresia’s forehead. She repeated her mantra silently, then let out a cold snort.
The flames of defiance ignited in Promen’s eyes. However, for Theresia, nothing was more important than the God of Darkness.
“An enemy of my enemy is my friend. I admit there were some misunderstandings between us before, but they are not irreconcilable. If we must compare, let’s settle our common enemy first, shall we?”
Promen perked up again. He pondered for a moment, then said, “I’ll help you, yes, but you must agree to one condition of mine.”
Theresia asked directly, “Speak.”
Promen clenched his claws. “Help me break the contract with Theodore.”
Theresia readily agreed. “No problem. If you help me, you are my friend. How can I, with my unwavering loyalty to friends, watch you be subservient to someone else?! Rest assured! I swear by the Dragon God’s name, I will certainly help you break free from Theodore’s control! Then I will bring you under *my* control. *Cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle, cackle.*
Theresia laughed wildly in her heart.
“Excellent!”
Promen nodded heavily, then frowned. “But because of the contract, I cannot resist that guy. That means he will know of any plots between us.”
“But what if there’s no plotting between us, just a simple exchange of knowledge?” Theresia said, stroking the miniature Promen. “How could I make things difficult for my ally? Whatever I ask you, just tell him directly. Don’t worry, I will cleverly utilize the knowledge you impart, transforming it into power to defeat that wicked man!”
The father of Promen—his large hand and the tiny hand—clasped together. At this moment, they formed an alliance, solely to confront that one enemy.
