Chapter 75: Quarrel

What is love?

Is it simply a mixture of hormones? Or is it an indescribable thing that humans have endowed with all sorts of noble meanings?

Tang Yunle didn’t know.

She only knew that she had experienced two kinds of love.

One was the care and concern from Qin Liang when she had a high fever. The other was the love from her family after coming to this abnormal but warm and harmonious world.

A solemn father, a gentle mother, a considerate younger sister, and an understanding younger brother. This family seemed to have truly become the safe haven she had always dreamed of.

Even if the latter was essentially a poison pill coated in sugar, she would gladly accept it.

The night grew dark. The two of them, who had been out for the whole afternoon, were a little tired. They were lying in bed, but neither of them had chosen to go to sleep.

“Ah Liang, are you asleep?”

In the silence, Tang Yunle’s voice suddenly sounded, exceptionally clear in the empty room.

In the darkness, a pair of ice-blue pupils slowly opened.

“No, I was thinking about my family in the original world. What about you?”

“I can’t sleep either. I was thinking about my family in this world.”

“When are you planning to go to sleep?”

“I don’t know… I have something on my mind, so I can’t sleep.”

“Then I’ll play on my phone for a while.”

Qin Liang reached for his phone on the bedside table and unlocked the screen.

The pale, cold light reflected off his ice-blue eyes, like a glacier flowing in the night.

He opened Tieba and scrolled through the question thread he had posted in the afternoon—

First floor: “Good brother? But why use ‘she’? Which good brother is a female pet??”

Second floor: “Is the poster playing abstract?”

Third floor: “Since she’s lacking love, why don’t you just fill her up with your love? Make her so happy she’s overflowing.”

Fourth floor: “If you ask me…”

The online world was never short of pranksters. The variety of replies made Qin Liang frown. Most of them were worthless teases, and the few seemingly useful suggestions were extremely terrifying.

One comment even suggested: imprisoning Tang Yunle, cutting off all her social connections, and using so-called “training” to make her develop Stockholm syndrome, so that from then on, she could only rely on his “love.”

In theory, this method seemed feasible.

So, the next second after Qin Liang had finished reading it, he quickly took action… took action to report the owner of this reply three times.

He just wanted to get Tang Yunle away from her “family” in this world. He didn’t want to cross his bottom line and turn into a beast.

“Ah Liang, do you really want to go home?”

Tang Yunle suddenly spoke. Amidst the rustling of the quilt, she seemed to have turned over.

Qin Liang turned off his phone screen and also turned over. The two of them looked at each other in the darkness, ice blue meeting ink black.

He nodded heavily. “Yes, I really want to go home, to see my parents and my big brother.”

“Ah Le, we’re not from this world after all. One day, we’ll have to go back.”

He stared at the girl’s evasive eyes, as if he were waiting for an answer.

Tang Yunle turned her head, her eyelashes casting fine shadows below. She pursed her lips and didn’t speak. She didn’t want to answer, and she didn’t dare to answer.

She knew it was wrapped in poison, but she still craved that little bit of sweetness, like a moth to a flame. She knew it was an abyss, but she still wanted to be shattered for that momentary warmth.

“Let’s go for a foot massage tomorrow,” Qin Liang suddenly said, and after a pause, he added, “The lewd kind.”

“Huh?”

Tang Yunle abruptly looked up, her almond eyes wide.

Foot massage? The lewd kind?

What was he going to take her to do?

Could it be… to a brothel?

“You’re too needy for love.”

In response, Qin Liang secretly glanced at the post replies on his phone screen, his expression as calm as that of an emotional expert, and he analyzed coldly, “You care too much about what other people think, and at the same time, you’re too eager for other people’s approval.”

“Tang Yunle, you shouldn’t just live for others.”

The young man looked directly at her, his tone unusually serious. “You have to live for yourself first, and live well.”

“I know, I just…” Tang Yunle mumbled.

“You don’t know. As long as someone is good to you and gives you a little love, you’ll follow them wagging your tail, no matter who that person is,” Qin Liang cut off Tang Yunle’s words like a sharp blade.

“You’re very needy for love, so you place it at the highest position in your heart. For the sake of love, you can even turn yourself into the appearance that the other person likes, like a piece of plasticine that can be molded at will.”

Tang Yunle was a little unaccustomed to this kind of forceful conversation and was stunned.

“I… I’m not that kind of person,” she retorted weakly.

“No, you are,” Qin Liang glanced at Tang Yunle.

“You wear women’s clothing to fit in with your class, you dress up as a ‘female pet’ to go home, and you want to leave a good impression on them. Do you think they love the real you?”

“What they love is the female pet Tang Yunle.”

That cold and detached tone was aggressive, as if a knife were trying to dig out the things in your heart.

Tang Yunle suddenly got angry. She didn’t want to talk about this topic.

What was Qin Liang doing?

What did it have to do with him that she wore women’s clothing?

What did it have to do with him that she wanted to leave a good impression on her family?

To put it bluntly, she and Qin Liang were just a scammer and a victim. If they hadn’t suddenly transmigrated, she would still be milking him for money!

A fool who had been scammed out of money by her actually had the nerve to lecture her!

And even if she really had become a female pet, it was not up to Qin Liang to control her!

“Alright, alright. Who made me so cheap? I just crave other people’s love. Whoever is good to me, I’ll be good to them, unlike someone who is being all sarcastic on the side.”

Tang Yunle abruptly turned her back to Qin Liang, staring at the dark night outside the window, her voice unconsciously rising. “I’m not like someone who was raised in the palm of their family’s hand since they were a child. I want some love. Is that wrong?”

“Some people just don’t know what they’re talking about.”

“I want love, I want care, I want the love of my family, and I also want romantic love. Can you give it to me? If you can’t, then just shut up.”

“Anyway, a rich kid like you will never understand a commoner like me!”

Knock, knock, knock!

Suddenly, there was a knock on the bedroom door.

“Sis! Mom made some beauty water. She asked me to bring it to you,” Tang Yunke’s clear voice came from outside the door.

“Coming,” Tang Yunle stepped onto the cold floor with her bare feet and opened the door.

Tang Yunke was holding a white porcelain bowl. Inside the bowl was a pink liquid. A sweet and greasy fragrance wafted from the steam.

For some reason, Tang Yunle felt that this bowl of pink liquid was a little familiar, as if she had seen it once before.

But she didn’t think much of it. She took the bowl, tilted her head back, and drank the liquid in one go. She then stuffed the empty bowl back into her sister’s hands, turned around, and threw herself back on the bed. She covered her head with the blanket, didn’t say a word, and went straight to sleep.
