Chapter 50: The Concubine’s Declaration

Nearly three days had passed since the fierce battle between the magical girl and the Lion-Tiger Demon.

Due to the Lion-Tiger Demon’s incursion, Dragon Leap Gorge, a famous scenic area once bustling with tourists, was now cordoned off with caution tape.

Officials had announced that it would not reopen to the public until a thorough safety inspection was completed.

The entire Tiger Leap Gorge was now only home to a few seasoned demon hunters, or experts, who had begun scouring the mountaintops for clues regarding the Lion-Tiger Demon’s rampage and why the purple-ranked ‘Fool’ was able to command it.

Meanwhile, in a hidden room at the foot of Dragon Leap Gorge, while the expert team diligently searched…

A White Demon Tiger and a captivating young woman stood facing each other, their gazes fixed expectantly on the summit.

These two, the woman and the tiger, were none other than Huangpu Pingqing and the mid-tier White Demon Tiger, which Ye Yu had contracted after the battle three days prior.

Recalling the events of three days ago, a layer of sorrow veiled Huangpu Pingqing’s enchanting face.

Due to her unique physique, she had uncontrollably fallen into a coma after being struck by the White Demon Tiger’s indiscriminate roar.

However, her consciousness had begun to recover as the White Demon Tiger fled.

Her mind replayed the scene: Ye Yu commanding the White Demon Tiger to carry her and her best friend to safety, while he himself went to draw the attention of numerous demons and Yang Wei.

She remembered how, after ensuring their safety, he had selflessly plunged into the valley depths for her sake.

Reflecting on the entire battle, she realized she had offered no real help, save for aiding the critically ill ‘Uncle Ye’ (Ye Changqing) by detoxifying him and prolonging his last breath at the very end.

Instead, she had been a burden, holding both of them back.

Over these three days, Huangpu Pingqing had countless times pondered whether the cliff-jumping incident could have been avoided if she, the ‘burden,’ hadn’t been there, leaving only her best friend and Ye Yu.

Each recollection sent a wrenching pain through her chest—a torrent of self-reproach and regret.

Today marked the third day since the two had chased into the valley. Observing the White Demon Tiger, now tamed by Ye Yu, the mark on its head had yet to fade.

Huangpu Pingqing’s spirits lifted slightly, as this at least proved that Ye Yu was still alive.

She slowly walked to the edge of a cliff, gazing into the bottomless abyss from which roars occasionally echoed.

Her thoughts drifted, reminiscing about the past.

She recalled how Ye Yu and her best friend had protected her.

Then, remembering her best friend’s matchmaking efforts and Ye Yu’s sweetness, Huangpu Pingqing’s crimson lips parted in a soft murmur.

“If you two truly make it back safely, Yueyue, as you wished, I wouldn’t mind being Ye Yu’s concubine!”

Her whispered declaration, carried by the wind, quickly dissipated into the air, leaving no trace.

Unbeknownst to Huangpu Pingqing, even as she declared herself Ye Yu’s concubine, that very status was hanging by a thread.

Meanwhile, in a certain interface of the Abyssal Layer…

On the second level of a tree hollow, a slightly displeased voice suddenly echoed from within.

“Ah, can there only be one wife? Can’t you be the main wife, and I be the concubine? Why not?”

The voice belonged to none other than the demon spirit, Bai Youli.

As for how this situation came to be?

It all started after Ye Yu had just comforted her.

Perhaps it was due to the incomplete mark that had appeared on Ye Yu’s lower abdomen.

Once she could hear Ye Yu’s thoughts, Bai Youli, lacking common sense and possessing an immature mind, completely relaxed upon hearing Ye Yu’s promise.

Having been alone for far too long, her desire to unburden her heart had been steadily building.

After letting down her guard, Bai Youli proactively invited both Ye Yu and Tang Yue to her dwelling on the second floor of the tree hollow.

The Abyss had no technology, a fact easily discernible from Bai Youli’s lack of clothing.

Bai Youli’s second-floor tree hollow room was less like a home and more like a nest.

It was excessively spartan, primarily composed of two items.

A remarkably large, soft bed woven from spiderwebs, and a crude coffin beside the bed.

The coffin contained a female skeleton, her bones offering no discernible information about her former identity.

According to Bai Youli, this was her first female friend with whom she had ever communicated.

Upon reaching the second floor of the tree hollow, Miss Succubus, Bai Youli, who hadn’t communicated with anyone for an unknown number of years, reached the pinnacle of her desire to share.

Without Tang Yue even needing to ask, she unreservedly recounted her past experiences and why she had attacked Ye Yu.

As Bai Youli shared her story, Tang Yue’s clenched fists slowly relaxed.

After all, girls are emotional. Hearing of Bai Youli’s tragic life since birth and that her initial attack on Ye Yu was merely a misunderstanding caused by her friend Qianhe’s words, softened Tang Yue.

Although Tang Yue still harbored some reservations about Bai Youli and Ye Yu’s intimacy, in various ways, hearing the explanation did dissipate some of the frustration in her chest. After all, everything that had happened seemed to be beyond their control.

As for why Bai Youli was now making a ‘concubine’ declaration?

The reason was simple. As a succubus naturally inclined to ‘lewdness,’ Bai Youli, having already tasted the pleasure of intimacy, was like a child experiencing candy for the first time.

Her craving for that wonderful sensation was insatiable.

And this led to the current situation.

“Bai Youli, ‘husband’ and ‘wife’ are a marital relationship. A husband can only have one wife!”

Tang Yue patiently explained the human common sense that a husband could only have one wife. However, this widely accepted notion among humans was lost on Bai Youli, who had grown up in the Abyss.

After all, in this demon-infested world, male demons were unlike humans; without legal constraints, many had multiple partners.

Consequently, the simple-minded Bai Youli naturally proposed the idea of being a concubine, and was now timidly offering an example to Tang Yue.

“Wife, I know a demon beast that has six partners. I can’t beat you, so wouldn’t it be fine for me to be my husband’s concubine?”

“I’m not your wife, and he’s not your husband!”

Hearing Bai Youli’s strange address once again, Tang Yue, unable to explain further, felt a headache beginning.

Sitting on the soft bed woven from collected spiderwebs, Ye Yu listened to the two beautiful young women’s voices rising and falling around him.

They were even passionately arguing over who would be his wife, their voices steadily growing louder.

In this moment, Ye Yu felt an odd sense of wonder, like he had entered a beautiful dream.

Logically, shouldn’t such scenes of rivalry only happen to protagonists in TV dramas?

‘Does this mean I’m a protagonist now?’

Yet, as beautiful as the dream was, he wondered, ‘What should I do now?’

If he sided with his wife, Tang Yue, what if this girl, Bai Youli, became emotional and caused the pattern on his lower abdomen to extend further? Wouldn’t he then become her s*ave?

And if he sided with Bai Youli, he immediately shook his head at the very thought.

After all, he was a genuine ‘pure love’ advocate.

How could he not speak up for his own wife?

Just as Ye Yu’s thoughts spiraled into confusion, unsure how to mediate the chaotic scene before him…

The next moment, Ye Yu suddenly felt the soft bed, piled with spiderwebs, simultaneously dip on both his left and right sides.

At the same time, two delicate voices chimed in his ears, one from each side.

“Husband, you tell us what to do!” (gritting teeth)

“Husband, please let me be your concubine!” (shaking arm)
