Chapter 16: Oh No, Sister Now Has My Cyber Record

Xia Qimeng released the little ear she had been sucking until it turned red, and narrowed her eyes.

Her fingers slid across Lu Yiyi’s delicate chin and finally clamped around her slender, fragile neck.

The pulse under her fingertips beat quickly, betraying the panic of the person in her arms.

“Yiyi…”

Xia Qimeng’s voice changed.

It was no longer the teasing, mocking tone she had used just a moment ago, but a low, soothing hypnotic voice.

“Listen to my voice… relax…”

Her fingertips applied precise pressure to several acupoints on the back of Lu Yiyi’s neck, quietly controlling her blood flow.

The intoxicating floral scent grew even stronger, flooding Lu Yiyi’s senses and seeping into her nerves.

“That’s right… take a deep breath… let go of all those messy thoughts.”

The last shreds of Lu Yiyi’s rationality were slowly pulled away.

Her mind fell into a blank white void.

In her world, only the stunningly beautiful face before her remained.

“Good girl.”

Xia Qimeng leaned in slightly, her nose almost touching Lu Yiyi’s, her breath as soft as orchid.

“Big Sister is the person you trust the most. Now, tell Big Sister honestly, what type of person do you actually like?”

Lu Yiyi’s eyes were completely dazed.

She parted her lips weakly and her breathing grew rapid.

She wanted to resist, but the voice firmly controlled her, leaving her powerless.

“I… actually I…”

“Say it, baby.”

Xia Qimeng held her breath and tightened her fingers on the back of Lu Yiyi’s neck slightly.

No matter what name Yiyi said, even if it was the gods themselves, she dared to go up against them.

Lu Yiyi’s cheeks were so red they looked ready to bleed.

Her eyelashes trembled violently.

“Actually I… I… I’m a… two-dimensional… person…”

The containment room went quiet for a while.

Xia Qimeng sat dumbfounded in her chair, her mind going blank.

‘Huh?’

‘Anime?’

“I like… paper characters.”

The more Lu Yiyi spoke, the redder her face became.

Tears of embarrassment almost welled up.

She was like a criminal being publicly punished, her voice growing softer and her head shrinking lower.

For a severely socially anxious person like her, being forced to admit her otaku tendencies to someone’s face was simply more unbearable than death.

Xia Qimeng blinked.

‘What are paper characters? Are they paper effigies, like voodoo dolls?’

‘This little one has such heavy tastes?’

“I like Lelouch… I like Homura Akemi…”

Once Lu Yiyi started, it was like she had broken some taboo.

Her mouth uncontrollably spilled everything out.

“And Koro-sensei, Illya, Light Yagami, Nyarko, Tatsumi, Kaito Kuroba, Misaka Mikoto, Rem, Violet…”

She spouted a long string of names rapidly, faster and faster, like she was counting her family treasures.

When she got excited, Lu Yiyi even sat up in Xia Qimeng’s arms, her eyes shining.

Her low twin tails bobbed up and down.

Her whole body radiated a fanatical otaku glow.

“Mmm… the 2D world is so wonderful… much better than real people. Real people are so troublesome and scary. Only paper characters never bully me…”

She held her burning cheeks in both hands, sinking into deep delusions.

“If only I had Geass… then anyone who made me run errands, I’d make them recite pi backwards at the mental hospital…”

“If only I could stop time… I could sleep an extra two and a half hours in the morning and never be late for work again…”

“I also want vector manipulation, a railgun, a future diary, and a brain-machine interface to use Omni-Directional Mobility Gear in SAO…”

After that passionate outburst, rationality briefly returned.

Uhhh…

Lu Yiyi looked at Xia Qimeng, who was stunned, and finally realized what she had just done.

‘She seemed to have… socially died.’

‘Completely and utterly socially dead!!!’

“Wahhh!”

She let out a mournful wail and buried her face tightly in Xia Qimeng’s chest, grabbing her lapels, wishing she could dig a hole on the spot and bury herself in it.

Her whole body was burning with shame, and she couldn’t bear to face anyone.

‘Sniffle… I’ll never be able to get married.’

This was the deepest secret she had hidden in her heart.

Apart from her parents, no one knew that this good girl, who spoke softly and could only lower her head and admit fault when something happened, would watch anime under her covers every night and have chuunibyou fantasies about 2D characters on the screen.

Xia Qimeng almost choked on her breath.

‘She had been ready to throw hands with someone, and this was the result?!’

‘Her love rival wasn’t a living person, but a pile of fictional anime characters?’

Xia Qimeng clicked her tongue awkwardly, and her tense nerves completely relaxed.

‘So she was an otaku with social anxiety.’

‘No wonder she didn’t socialize much and didn’t date.’

This little cutie had placed all her emotional dependence on those fictional anime characters, completely immersed in her own little world.

‘She didn’t need to be jealous of a living person or clean up messy social connections.’

‘That made her even easier to handle!’

Xia Qimeng lowered her eyes to look at the little kitten in her arms, humiliated and mortified, and couldn’t help reaching out to pinch that flushed little face again and again.

Soft and squishy.

It felt wonderful.

She pulled out her phone from a bag beside her, unlocked the screen, and opened the memo app.

“Come here, good baby.”

Xia Qimeng shoved the phone into Lu Yiyi’s hand and gave a new order.

“Type up all the anime you just mentioned and the names of the characters you like. Don’t leave a single one out.”

Lu Yiyi was in deep hypnosis.

Her mind was chaotic, but her body instinctively obeyed.

She held the phone and tapped on the screen rapidly.

“Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion” – Lelouch Lamperouge.

“Puella Magi Madoka Magica” – Homura Akemi.

“Assassination Classroom” – Koro-sensei.

…

She typed out a lengthy piece, almost a short essay.

Xia Qimeng leaned back in her chair, looked at the long list of names on the memo, and took the phone back with satisfaction.

This cyber record was her cheat code for conquering her little bunny.

When she got back, she would find all these things called ‘anime’ and study them all night, learning everything about these virtual characters’ personalities to hit Lu Yiyi’s aesthetic preferences precisely.

‘Want to steal my girl? Not even paper characters can do that!’

Preliminary work complete.

Xia Qimeng composed herself and pressed her fingertip on Lu Yiyi’s forehead again.

“Yiyi, listen carefully.”

Her voice became ethereal and smooth.

“When you hear me snap my fingers, you will wake up.”

“After waking up, you won’t remember anything that happened during the hypnosis. You’ll only remember that we chatted happily and shared delicious snacks.”

“You’ll increasingly feel that I’m a gentle, kind, trustworthy person. You’ll want to get closer to me, learn about me, and look forward to spending time with me every day. Do you understand?”

Lu Yiyi’s unfocused pupils contracted slightly as she obediently repeated.

“Wake up after hearing the snap… forget the hypnosis… only remember pleasant chat and snacks… Miss Xia is very gentle… want to get close to her… look forward to being together…”

Every word was nailed deep into her subconscious.

After confirming the instructions were properly implanted, Xia Qimeng raised her right hand and snapped her long fingers in the air.

“Snap.”

A crisp snap echoed through the containment room.

Lu Yiyi’s long eyelashes trembled violently a few times, and her unfocused eyes regained their light.

Her mind went blank for a brief moment.

Her vision gradually cleared.

What came into view was a piece of pink gauze, along with that faint cold fragrance familiar to her bones.

She blinked and realized that at some point, she had been firmly held in Xia Qimeng’s arms again.

They were very close, and Xia Qimeng’s chin was lightly resting on her shoulder.

‘Eep!’

‘How did they end up hugging again while chatting?!’

Lu Yiyi’s ears turned hot, but she didn’t break free.

‘If anyone else held her so intimately, she would have jumped away in fear.’

But now, she didn’t feel resistant at all.

Instead, she found this embrace surprisingly… warm?

‘Miss Xia is quite clingy.’

‘A calamity-class spirit master, yet in private she’s a clingy person who loves cuddling.’

‘For some reason, that felt a bit cute.’
