Join the ServerHe was known as the Nameless Serpent, a beast without a number.
A mysterious beast. Without a number, he was called Nameless. Because of his single yellow snake eye, he was called Serpent. His body was full of riddles. How could an E-grade mimic join the Dark House? Why did his mutation points match the legendary number five, Emperor Scorpion? Why did he have a snake eye like the legendary number four, the Undying Serpent?
A beast that appeared from nowhere.
A weak E-grade mimic wouldn’t normally attract attention. This Nameless Serpent was tested as E-grade, but his combat ability matched at least a B-grade mimic.
But even a B-grade mimic was just small fry in this cruel world.
His strength wasn’t in his mutations or his fighting skills. His abnormality was in his fighting style and his incredible self-healing.
Blood for blood.
That was his fighting style. Like a mad dog. Once he bit down, he wouldn’t let go. No defense, only attack.
You cut him three times; he cut you once. The result? You might die. He’d get up the next day and keep fighting.
Unbelievable resilience and healing. That was his weapon.
“Old man, it’s you again.” I waved at the old Judge and stopped playing with my claw knife, smiling.
“Nameless Serpent…” The old Judge’s face darkened as he spoke lowly. That bastard had gone back last time covered in wounds, and now he was out again in a few days.
“Huh? I don’t see that punk from last time. He was pretty cocky. What happened?” I counted the numbers. Besides the old Judge, there were some familiar faces and some new ones.
“You bastard!” The burly Judge roared and lifted his knife, ready to charge.
“Wait.” The old Judge blocked him and turned to me coldly. “He’s dead. Couldn’t save him.”
“Oh.” I shrugged.
“That’s all you have to say? Don’t you feel any remorse?” The young Judge shouted.
“Remorse? Everyone dies. Death may be heavier than Mount Tai or lighter than a feather… But well, he died like a piece of shit.” I swayed my head, reciting a made-up poem.
“You!” The burly Judge trembled with rage. The old Judge’s face turned even darker.
“Haha!” Seeing them like that made me happy.
“You little bastard, still laughing?”
“Isn’t it funny? You muscle-bound moron, you want me to repent? Are you brain-dead? The moment he picked up a knife against me, he should have been ready to die. The moment he swung that knife at me, he should have been prepared for me to kill him.”
I raised my claw knife and sneered. “Remorse? If you can bring his body in front of me, I’d love to say one thing to him: you deserved to die.”
“You’re dead!” The young Judge roared, lunging forward with a high-frequency vibrating steel knife.
“Wait!” The old Judge raised his hand, but the young Judge had already charged.
I watched the high-frequency knife coldly. Can’t touch that, I thought.
“Bastard, do you know who you killed?”
“Who?”
“My little brother!”
“Oh? Congratulations. You’ll see him soon… in hell.” I sneered, spreading my arms. In the next moment, spider spines burst from my back. My right eye turned into a scarlet snake eye. I raised my black claw knife to meet him.
“Monster! Die!” He roared, unleashing a combo sword technique.
“Hah, you think I’m still the same as before?” I laughed coldly.
I jumped back and lashed out with my spider spines.
Black spider spines swung wildly. They had hard exoskeletons, but against the high-frequency knife, it was only a matter of time before they were sawn through.
There was only one way to deal with a high-frequency knife: speed.
Clang! Clang! Clang! The phantom-like spider spines struck the high-frequency knife, not clashing head-on but deflecting it, forcing it off course.
All lethal strikes were deflected. Now it was my turn to play.
Ignoring the web of swords, I stomped my right foot and charged straight into the gaps. Immediately, cuts appeared on my upper body.
This little pain only made me crazier.
“Snake bite!”
I shot my left hand straight through the sword web, grabbed the young Judge’s neck, and lifted him high.
The web of swords vanished instantly. A guy nearly 1.9 meters tall was held up by the neck by a kid barely 1.7 meters.
“Mmh mmh!” The young Judge couldn’t speak. His face red, he struggled and tried to swing his knife at me.
But I was faster. My black claw knife stabbed into his knife-wielding arm.
“Mmh!” His face twisted. The high-frequency knife fell. Blood dripped from his arm to the ground.
“Huh, completely helpless now.”
I looked at the nearly unconscious Judge, slowly turned around, and ignored my own wounds. They’d stop bleeding on their own.
“Old man, don’t your Judges have a rule against acting alone? Look at this idiot. It doesn’t matter if I kill him, right?” I held up the unconscious young Judge and sneered at the old Judge.
“Let him go!”
“Let the mother and daughter go first.” I said coldly, tightening my grip. The young Judge’s face turned purple, his struggles weakening.
“Let him go first.” The old Judge said calmly.
“I said let the mother and daughter go first!” I shouted. “I don’t mind strangling him and killing all you trash!”
“You!”
“Fine! Calm down. Let them go!” The old Judge held back the impulsive young team members and made a path. The mother and daughter, who had been crouching on the ground, immediately stood up and ran behind me.
“Mr. Wu, thank you.” The woman cried, holding her daughter.
“My name is Li Xiaobai.”
“Thank you, Mr. Li.” She continued.
“Thank you, big brother.” The little girl Cuicui whispered.
“…” I was stunned. A strange feeling rose in my heart. In all these years, had I ever been truly thanked? Had I ever truly saved someone unrelated to me?
“Don’t mention it. It’s nothing.” I turned my back to them so they couldn’t see my face.
If you stood in front of me, you would see me smiling. I was only nineteen, but I felt mature, more mature than my peers. Maybe it was that chuunibyou thing, thinking I was special. I didn’t know if I was really mature.
But I knew that my nineteen years had been a waste. I hadn’t accomplished anything. I hadn’t done anything useful for society or others. I was a self-isolated, misanthropic, time-wasting, useless piece of trash. Maybe that was extreme, but it’s how I really felt.
Those two thanks gave me genuine joy.
“Hey, Nameless! Why haven’t you let him go?” The old Judge roared because I hadn’t moved.
“Ah, oh. I forgot.” I smiled, looked at the Judge still in my grip, and let go. He fell to the ground.
The remaining Judges glared at me, as if they wanted to eat me alive.
“You go first.” I said softly to the mother and daughter.
“Ah, then… Mr. Li, and Mr. Han, be careful.” With that, she ran off, holding the girl.
“Big brother, fight hard!” The girl waved from her mother’s arms.
I smiled at her and turned back to face the Judges.
“What are you still doing here?” But as soon as I said it, I felt stupid. With the Phantom Black Panther Han Xiao in front and me, Nameless Serpent, behind, were they going to fly away?
“Had enough fun?”
Han Xiao coldly dropped a cigarette butt on the ground and stamped it out. He had been standing there watching for a long time, already finished a cigarette.
