Chapter 95: Are You Raising Gu Here?

This Leader didn’t seem nearly as hard to communicate with as Lirna had made her out to be.

Yinuo’s figure was more mature and voluptuous than Pereti’s. Her long black hair cascaded down like a waterfall, loosely draped over her shoulders. A tight-fitting black robe outlined her graceful curves—its fabric so thin it seemed almost translucent in sunlight, yet it didn’t feel indecent at all. Instead, it carried a sense of casual laziness.

Sunlight filtered through the stained glass windows, falling gently over Pereti’s body. The warmth eased some of the fatigue from her journey, but the atmosphere at the table was… subtle.

The four of them sat together. Only Wenika ate without restraint, devouring the food happily. The other three exchanged glances, each probing the others in silence—no one willing to be the first to speak.

“Not picking up your fork… is my cooking not to your taste?”

Yinuo lightly tapped the table with her fingertip, her tone playful, though her gaze rested on the slight furrow in Pereti’s brow.

Looking at the table full of brightly colored dishes—most of which she had never seen before—Pereti could still tell from Wenika’s wolfing them down that Yinuo’s cooking must be quite good.

She raised her eyes instinctively, a hint of surprise in her voice.

“You made all of this?”

“Of course.” Yinuo lifted her brow slightly, a trace of pride in her tone.

“I’m the Leader of the Gluttony Church. If I couldn’t even cook properly, wouldn’t I become a laughingstock?”

She nudged a plate toward Pereti, a confident smile in her eyes.

“Go on, give it a try. I’m quite confident in my skills.”

“Yeah, yeah! The Leader’s cooking is super delicious!”
Wenika, her mouth stuffed full, chimed in indistinctly, her cheeks puffed up like a hamster’s.

A trace of helplessness crossed Pereti’s face as she shook her head lightly.

“No, thank you for your kindness. I’m a witch—my dietary habits are different from yours. Food like this… is no different from chewing paper to me. It can’t satisfy my hunger at all.”

There was a hint of regret in her heart.

Her witch’s body had long since adapted to feeding on blood. She had already stopped expecting anything from ordinary food.

“My cooking… might not be quite what you’re imagining.”

Yinuo didn’t insist. Instead, she picked up a bowl of milky-white liquid from the table. It was thick like milk, yet carried no dairy fragrance—only a faint bean-like aroma.

Seeing the confusion in Pereti’s eyes, Yinuo explained:

“This is soy milk. It’s somewhat similar to milk, but made from beans. It’s much easier to produce, so even ordinary households can afford it.”

She gently pushed the bowl in front of Pereti, her gaze calm, without the slightest hint of forcing her.

At this point, refusing again would be rude.

Pereti glanced at Lirna, who was looking at her with an encouraging expression—something like quiet anticipation hidden in her eyes.

After a moment of hesitation, Pereti reached out and took the bowl. Her fingers touched its warm surface, and for some reason, a faint warmth stirred in her heart.

She carefully took a small sip.

The texture was soft—like fine flour melting in her mouth—yet unexpectedly carried a trace of sweetness.

Sweet?

Pereti froze.

Her fingers tightened slightly around the bowl.

She couldn’t even remember how long it had been since she had tasted something so… normal. For a long time, Feiye’s blood had been her only source of sustenance—the warm, coffee-like liquid had long numbed her sense of taste.

This gentle sweetness, carrying warmth, was like a faint beam of light—suddenly illuminating a world her senses had long grown used to.

She didn’t hesitate anymore, tilting her head back to take a large gulp.

The warm soy milk slid down her throat, flowing into her stomach.

The next moment—

A long-lost sense of fullness rose clearly within her.

It was completely different from the overwhelming satisfaction of drinking blood. This feeling was warm, steady—grounding. As if her entire being had been gently soothed.

“I can… eat this…”

Pereti suddenly turned to look at Lirna.

A faint smile curved at the corner of Lirna’s lips, a knowing look in her eyes.

Realization struck Pereti, her voice filled with disbelief.

“This is your power?”

Lirna smiled and nodded, lightly tapping the table with her fingers.

“Exactly. Under the influence of my ability, even a lump of red soil can become something that fills the stomach. As for the taste… well, that’s another matter.”

“Uh… how bad can it be?”
Pereti couldn’t help but grow curious. Seeing the complicated look on Lirna’s face only made her more intrigued.

Normally, she would dismiss strange things outright—but when it reached this level of absurdity, she had to know.

Lirna tilted her chin toward Yinuo.

“You can ask her.”

“Huh?”
Pereti blinked and turned to Yinuo.

Yinuo coughed lightly, an indescribable expression flashing across her face.

“The taste… is indeed quite bitter. But at least it’s edible. Ever since gaining this ability, I’ve eaten quite a lot of things—bamboo, tree bark, even stones…”

She paused, a trace of frustration in her tone.

“In the end, I realized that the power of Gluttony can make anything ‘edible’—but it can’t change their original taste. That’s the most troublesome part.”

“Really? But I think… it tastes pretty good.”

Pereti was already fully immersed in the flavors. The soy milk in her hand was still warm, and while the dishes on the table weren’t particularly extraordinary, they carried the most simple, human warmth.

After drinking Feiye’s cold blood every day, she had long forgotten what normal food tasted like.

Even though these dishes were unfamiliar, at this moment, all she felt was satisfaction.

To eat like a normal person—

Such a simple happiness.

She had longed for it for far too long.

“Hm?”

Watching Pereti eat so eagerly, a faint smile appeared in Yinuo’s eyes, her lips unconsciously curving upward.

The way this girl devoured her food—it was as if she hadn’t eaten in ages. Her white hair shimmered softly under the sunlight, the more one looked, the more pleasing it became—like some deeply buried instinct was being quietly stirred.

An itch rose in Yinuo’s heart.

If Lirna hadn’t stopped her with a subtle look, she might have already gone over to hug that soft white head and rub against it.

If only all girls in the world had white hair…

Not wanting to disturb Pereti’s meal, Yinuo quietly transmitted her voice to Lirna, a hint of impatience in her tone:

“Nana, why can’t I see her stats yet?”

Having followed Yinuo for so long, Lirna naturally knew what she meant by “stats.”

After arriving in this world, to help Yinuo adapt more quickly—and to satisfy her curiosity—Lirna had specially created a simple “system” for her. It could display others’ attributes and abilities, and occasionally issue small tasks with minor rewards upon completion.

It was a bit troublesome, but Yinuo’s performance had far exceeded expectations.

Ever since the Leader of Gluttony arrived, the previously barren variety of food in this world had undergone unprecedented development.

Like a tireless explorer, Yinuo, relying on Lirna’s power as a safety net, was willing to try anything to see if it could be eaten. Combined with the culinary knowledge from her original world, the pace of development here had been astonishing.

As edible food increased, so did the number of people who believed in her.

Naturally, Lirna was more than happy to see that happen.

She gave Yinuo a look that said be patient, then quietly extended a thread of divine sense, silently merging it into Pereti’s body.

Moments later, a translucent panel—visible only to the two of them—slowly appeared:
