Chapter 47: Big Sister Will Forever Belong to Feiye

Feiye’s feelings toward Peledi were, in the end, more dependence than anything else.

During those ignorant, hazy years, she had been nothing more than a nameless blood servant. The white-haired nobles regarded her as a delicious delicacy, and she herself did not even understand the meaning of her own existence.

In that era, humans were nothing more than livestock raised by the blood race. Children like her could be found everywhere. If there was anything different about her, it was that she had been born from dark red soil, swallowed hard-to-eat food every day, and was sent into nobles’ chambers at irregular intervals, allowing sharp fangs to pierce her skin.

Every single day of her human life passed like this.

Everyone around her repeated the same words: “You live only as the Count’s blood food. You are merely a tool.”

Her mother died when she had just begun to understand the world. At that time, she did not yet comprehend life and death—she only knew her mother would never wake up again. She could only feel something growing wildly in her heart, faster than bamboo shoots after rain, turning the tall building she lived in into ruins in a single night.

Later, from the mouth of the Blood Queen, she learned the name of that seed: despair.

In the blood race’s royal palace, she was given a name for the first time—Meilansa, meaning “the flower of eternal night.”

The Queen treated her extremely well—so well that it didn’t feel like she was treating livestock, but rather a younger sister. Yet Meilansa always felt there was a certain distance between herself and the Queen, and she never dared to draw too close.

Later on, she went to the High Tower. That girl with stars in her eyes knew her origins and gave her a new name: Feiye.

Feiye also couldn’t get along with most witches. They were too selfish; she didn’t like that feeling. So she hid herself in a pitch-black room and gave her own shadow the name Meilansa.

Curled up in a corner, she spent her days telling Meilansa about the past—how long such days lasted, she didn’t know. Meilansa was more like a close confidant; no matter what doubts Feiye had, she could always give answers that satisfied her.

She thought she would go on like this forever.

Until, in the boundless darkness, a streak of colorful light shone through. The door was pushed open carefully. It was a girl with an apologetic face, silent like herself, but…

Warmer than the sun.

It was the first time Feiye had ever felt something like this. She didn’t understand what the feeling was, so she went to ask the Witch of Stars.

“There’s no need to doubt it—that’s the feeling of your heart being moved,” the Witch of Stars said with a smile. “If you like her, then bravely chase after her.”

So she followed that girl’s side, never leaving her shadow.

She realized she could no longer live without that girl, truly regarding her as her only family.

Until one day, the girl left without saying goodbye.

Fear, helplessness, panic, and confusion swallowed her in an instant. She searched madly for traces of the girl, walking every corner of the world, and in the end found only a familiar yet utterly strahnge god.

After being reborn, what filled Feiye’s heart was even more confusion, bewilderment, and anger.

That anger was not directed at Peledi, but at the elves.

In her eyes, the reason big sister later became the way she did was entirely the elves’ fault.

These emotions were deeply buried the moment she saw that cheerful big sister again.

She could endure darkness—if she had never seen light.

Only now did she finally understand that she had long since regarded big sister as her only support. As long as she could stay by big sister’s side, no matter in what form, she would be satisfied.

Such a simple wish…

So simple, yet there were always people who wanted to destroy it.

In the past, Feiye would respect big sister’s wishes. But now, no matter what, she could no longer allow big sister to leave her sight.

Her world had only big sister left. Under such circumstances, if anyone still wanted to take away her only one…

Then they could only be completely eliminated…

The emotions buried in her heart finally erupted in full.

“Hey, big sister~” Feiye gently grasped Peledi’s wrist. The strength looked light, yet made it impossible to break free. “You’ll stay with Feiye forever, right?”

“Wait, didn’t Caroline say you ran into trouble? She also said—”

“Big sister really is fickle. I’m standing right in front of you, yet you bring up other women.”

“All this time, the one protecting big sister has always been me…” Feiye’s voice trembled with danger. “So why does big sister care about those insignificant people? Obviously, just having me is enough!”

“Feiye, calm down. Calm down!”

“Calm?” Feiye laughed softly, her eyes fixed straight on Peledi as she advanced step by step. “Hehe… big sister is trying to fool me, right?”
Peledi was forced to retreat. That movement made Feiye’s gaze grow even colder.

Big sister is afraid of Feiye…

Is Feiye really that scary now?

I’m clearly protecting big sister!

“You’re the maid from Ailberna’s shop. Why are you here?” Josuna frowned, watching Feiye’s strange behavior warily.

Of course, it was all an act. Josuna knew very well how big the gap in strength between her and Feiye currently was.

She was still too weak. All she could do was endure.

“Not reborn…”

Hearing those words, Feiye quickly drew her conclusion and silently withdrew the [Shadow Devour] she had been preparing to use to silence Josuna.

A black sphere the size of a fist flew out of her hand and stopped in front of Josuna.

Josuna’s pupils shrank sharply. In the end, black filled her entire vision, and her body became like a puppet on strings, firmly controlled by Feiye.

“Feiye! Don’t hurt her!” Peledi desperately tried to stop her, but before an absolute gap in power, all resistance was futile.

Caroline, where are you? Hurry and save me!

“What did you do to her?!”

“I know~” Feiye’s voice was so sweet it was chilling. “She’s someone very important to big sister, right? Feiye just… temporarily took control of her mind.”

Afraid of being hated by big sister…

“Compared to me, does big sister care about her more…?”

Clearly, I could do better…

“What nonsense are you talking about? We’ve only known each other for how long? What’s wrong with you?”

Clearly, I can satisfy everything big sister needs…

Peledi was on the verge of collapse. First Josuna suddenly went crazy for no reason, and now Feiye had become just as abnormal.

Were these two already like this to begin with, or was something wrong with her?

Everyone around her was abnormal, but she was the normal one—was that it?

“In her eyes, your behavior is no different from that of a madwoman. To her, that’s indeed the case. Don’t forget—she’s only known you for three days.”
The shadow offered a timely reminder.

If this continued, the situation would very likely develop into something beyond recovery.

“It’s fine, you know~” Feiye leaned close to Peledi’s ear, her breath icy cold. “Whether she can live from now on depends on big sister’s performance.”

“What do you mean by that?!”

“Hehe… as long as big sister behaves obediently next, Feiye guarantees she won’t hurt a single person~”

“Whether big sister likes Feiye, or hates Feiye, or is thinking about tricking Feiye…”

“It’s all fine!”

“As long as Feiye likes big sister, that’s completely enough!”

“Yes, that’s right! I’ve long since been unable to live without big sister. Since so many people want to separate us, then Feiye will bind big sister to her side forever!”

“Okay… okay. Say what you want. I’ll agree to everything.” Peledi glanced at Josuna beside her.

She had been calling Caroline for so long, yet there was no response at all.

If nothing unexpected had happened, Caroline had probably already been blown away by Feiye in this state. With no other choice, Peledi could only take things one step at a time.

“It’ll be fine. Very soon.”
Blood slid from the corner of Feiye’s lips as she hooked a finger under the collar at Peledi’s neck and forced her to kneel. Then she tore the collar apart, and her sharp fangs sank deeply into Peledi’s slender, snow-white neck.

Peledi only felt the sharp teeth pierce her skin, and a liquid that did not belong to her surge wildly into her body, running rampant beneath her skin like countless ants gnawing at every inch of flesh, stabbing every nerve.

That pain lasted only an instant, but to Peledi it felt like a whole century had passed.

Peledi gasped for breath, sweat streaming down her cheeks, her body collapsing limply to the ground.

Feiye licked her lips in satisfaction, gazing obsessively at the bewitching red pattern on Peledi’s neck, her fingertips gently brushing over the fresh mark.

Looking at her pale-faced big sister, a strange light welled up in her violet eyes.

“Now, big sister will belong to Feiye forever~”
