She let out a soft sigh. When she opened her eyes, the scene before her was no longer the familiar wasteland—but a pristine white structure.
She was kneeling on white stone slabs. Before her stood a massive white statue: a woman reclining arrogantly upon a throne, her outstretched palm holding two floating orbs—one gold, one violet.
Perletti looked around in confusion. On both sides of the stone path stretched an endless sea of flowers, and the path itself extended all the way toward a grand, radiant white building.
Pure.
An immaculate white filled her entire vision—yet, with the flowers’ colors woven into it, it didn’t feel monotonous.
This place felt strangely familiar to Perletti… similar to when she had first entered the Amu Library.
“So calling a true name really works…”
Perletti stood up. Feiye’s presence was already gone from beside her.
That was expected.
After all, only Perletti had called out to Lumen.
But… where was the God of Light?
She looked around again and again, yet apart from the statue, there was nothing else.
“Did you hear? Naisha brought back a little girl from another race.”
A girl?
Suddenly, a lighthearted conversation rang by her ears—it sounded like a man and a woman.
Perletti abruptly turned around.
A young man and woman dressed in flowing white robes were walking toward her, chatting and laughing.
Neither of them wore shoes. Their long white hair fell behind them, and from their backs extended two white wings, glowing softly in the light.
Perletti’s pupils shrank sharply.
“White wings…”
She muttered to herself, an impossible answer forming in her mind.
The two before her—were the Winged God Race, a species universally acknowledged across the continent to have gone completely extinct during the Withering Moon.
Only that race matched every single trait these two possessed.
But… why would an extinct race appear here?
“Really? The Lord God actually allowed an outsider to enter?”
“I heard that girl isn’t an outsider—she’s another branch of our bloodline.”
“That’s a thing? Perfect, we’ve just finished our duties. Want to go take a look?”
“Let’s go.”
As they spoke, the two Winged God Race members flapped their wings and soared into the sky—completely ignoring Perletti below.
“They can’t see me?”
Perletti found their behavior strange.
She could clearly feel everything here—even the wind from their wings brushed against her hair.
Yet they acted as if they existed in two entirely different worlds.
“Lord God… the god of the Winged God Race… could it be the God of Light?”
With that question in mind, Perletti followed them.
They arrived at a boundless sea of flowers.
Amidst the flowers stood three white-haired girls, chatting and laughing together.
Among them was one much younger than the others.
She had no wings.
Yet her smile was bright, and she blended in with the others without the slightest barrier.
Perletti couldn’t help but grow curious about her identity.
“Masha, look—does this look good?”
A flower crown was placed upon the wingless girl’s head.
Facing Perletti, she wore a faint smile. Her long white hair flowed like silk, adorned simply, while her deep gray eyes carried an irresistible allure—just one glance was enough to draw someone in completely.
“Mm! It looks good!” Masha nodded enthusiastically, a bright glimmer shining in her vivid red eyes.
The two Winged God Race members descended from the sky. The young man, noticing the empty sword sheath at someone’s waist, couldn’t help teasing:
“Naisha, you went out once and even managed to lose your weapon?”
The short-haired winged girl puffed her cheeks. “I didn’t do it on purpose! It was just an accident!”
“Alright, alright, we’ll treat it as an accident.”
“Hmph! Don’t laugh at me.”
“Hehe… hahaha…”
Masha giggled as the older girls teased each other. Then she suddenly pointed at Perletti.
“That big sister—did you bring her here?”
Perletti instinctively stepped back.
“What’s going on… she can see me?”
The others turned to look where Masha pointed—but in their eyes, there was nothing there.
“What big sister? Xia, did you see wrong?”
Masha stubbornly shook her head, her tone firm.
“No. There is a white-haired, golden-eyed big sister right there.”
The others simply assumed she was joking and paid no mind. Only the oldest among them quietly continued weaving a new flower crown.
“It’s Masha’s first time here. Let her have some time to get familiar with the surroundings, alright?”
Her tone was calm—yet carried a faint tremor that inspired unease.
“True enough. Lord God, we’ll take Naisha and leave first.”
Soon, the vast garden was left with only three people.
Masha stared straight at Perletti, one hand tugging at Lumen’s clothes.
“Divine One, can you see her too?”
“…You can see me?” Perletti hesitated for a long time before finally speaking.
“Huh? That’s a strange question. You’re right here—why would I ask whether I can see you?”
Perletti was momentarily speechless.
Somehow… she couldn’t find any flaw in that logic.
“Because right now, only we can see her.”
A gentle voice answered.
“Welcome, child who has come from afar. I am the God of Interwoven Light and Shadow—Lumen.”
“You’re… Lumen?”
Perletti sized her up.
She looked completely different from the statues in the Church—there was none of that grandeur or extravagance. She appeared plain… almost ordinary.
“Yes. It’s me.”
Lumen held a flower crown and slowly walked up to Perletti, placing it gently on her head. Masha followed closely behind.
Perletti obediently lowered her head.
She hadn’t expected the legendary God of Light to be so gentle—nothing like the sacred, distant image described in records.
On the contrary…
She felt warm.
It seemed human records of the gods were… somewhat inaccurate.
“The place you are in now is a space I constructed, called Momentary Eternity. It is formed from a single fragment of my past memories.”
“Momentary Eternity? Then… who is she?”
“That’s true. An introduction is necessary.”
Lumen took Perletti’s hand, and with her other hand held Masha’s—like a mother leading her children—guiding them onto a wide platform.
“Masha is a child I have chosen. Among humans, she is known by another name—the Blood Witch.”
“And you… are also a child I have chosen. The Witch of Light—Perletti.”
“You’re a witch too?! Does that mean we can build a home together?” Masha’s eyes instantly filled with excitement.
“I’m not finished yet, Masha.”
Lumen’s voice remained gentle.
“Although you two are currently in the same space… the time you each belong to is separated by a thousand years.”
