“You’re telling me… the three of you dug up tree roots, uncovered a fallen dragon, and then you used magic to revive it. Is that correct?”

Inside the Elf Royal Palace, Isabena sat in the reception room, staring at Peretti as she confirmed the story once more.

Sevyara had been taken away by several elf attendants to be cleaned up, while Olivia was discussing the matter with several elders. As a result, only the four witches remained in the reception room.

After receiving news from Caroline, Isabena had hurried over to the Elf Palace as quickly as possible and only now reunited with Peretti.

“That’s basically it.”

Crimson Night nodded.

“It probably doesn’t count as resurrection though. It’s more like giving her a new body. Her mind is practically identical to how it was before death.”

Peretti corrected her.

As she watched the puppet Isabena had created from starlight, a thought suddenly crossed her mind.

Her own Lumen consisted of light particles too, and possessed extremely high controllability.

So… could she also create something similar to clones?

She’d have to test it sometime.

“Even so, that’s already absurd enough to surpass common sense!”

Isabena’s avatar couldn’t help rubbing her temples.

“Do you realize what this means? A dragon soul that once stood at the pinnacle of power has regained a physical form because of your magic!”

“Ehhh, I just wanted to test how effective the spell was. Who would’ve thought even a stripped-out heart could be brought back? The effect was way too good.”

“That spell… can you cast it again?”

Caroline suddenly asked.

What interested her most now was the magic Peretti had used.

Alchemists could also revive things lingering between life and death, but the process was incredibly troublesome. In contrast, Peretti’s magic was obviously far simpler than alchemy.

More importantly, Caroline had never seen this type of light-element magic before. It was difficult to say whether others could eventually master it as well.

“Of course. It’ll also give Teacher Caroline a chance to personally experience the effects.”

Peretti readily agreed and once again took out the 【Everbright】 lantern.

With the previous successful attempt behind her, constructing the spell model now looked far more practiced and smooth.

Warm radiance spread outward from the lantern. Under her focused guidance, a complex golden magic formation flowing with sacred patterns rapidly took shape beneath Caroline’s feet. Gentle yet majestic golden ripples expanded outward from its center.

Caroline carefully felt the changes occurring within herself while simultaneously observing the circulation of Peretti’s magic power.

“How does it feel?”

“…Unbelievable.”

Caroline slowly opened her eyes and lightly moved her shoulders and neck, fingertips brushing her cheek.

“The physical fatigue and deep-seated sense of wear have vanished. Even my thoughts feel exceptionally clear and condensed…”

“Judging from the scale of mana consumption and the precision of its structure, in the current era, aside from you, I fear no one could independently sustain this spell.”

“If anyone could, it would only be beings on the level of gods.”

While Peretti cast the spell, 【Everbright】 also synchronized with the path of her mana flow and assisted in the casting process, greatly reducing the strain of using such a high-tier spell.

“You’re right though. The effect of this magic really is unexpectedly ridiculous. It healed everything inside and out. No wonder the mana consumption is so terrifying.”

“Isabena, have you ever heard the title ‘White Night of Dragonfall’ before?”

Peretti suddenly asked.

“White Night of Dragonfall… hm. A title that possesses both beauty and power. It sounds somewhat familiar.”

“Is that the dragon’s title?”

Although Isabena didn’t know much about dragon society itself, as a witch who had lived since that era, she understood very well how much dragons valued titles.

A title symbolized a dragon’s very existence and represented supreme recognition of their power.

Reviving such a powerful dragon would undoubtedly pose a tremendous threat to witches.

“Little one…”

Isabena’s avatar let out a faint sigh, genuine concern hidden in her voice.

“This time, you’ve truly caused quite a serious mess.”

The relationship between witches and elves had never been as harmonious as it appeared on the surface.

Witches simply couldn’t be bothered playing political mind games with elves, and very few witches were willing to leave the Tower, which made the two factions appear relatively friendly.

In reality, elves feared witches to a certain extent.

The elf race generally held very poor impressions of witches. Hidden surveillance and secret observers were everywhere. The only reason they didn’t openly display hostility was because the Second Elf King was still alive, and because no witch among the current generation had reached the rank of 【Rising Sun】. The elves still possessed the confidence to suppress witches if necessary.

But now, the situation was different.

The witches lacking a 【Rising Sun】 didn’t mean dragons lacked one.

Peretti’s ability to remove the dragons’ 【Curse of Greed】 had already placed tremendous pressure on the elves.

“It’s probably not as serious as you’re imagining…”

Peretti nervously poked her fingertips together.

“Then what are you planning to do?”

“As for me… I haven’t really figured it out yet. I’ll just improvise when the time comes.”

At that moment, both Isabena and Caroline suddenly stood and bowed respectfully.

Only Peretti and Crimson Night remained sitting there, completely confused about what was happening.

“Greetings, Your Majes—”

Before Caroline could finish, she secretly twisted Peretti’s hand and pulled her up from the chair so she wouldn’t appear too rude.

“Sigh… how many times have I said this? There’s no need to be so formal in private settings. It only makes us feel distant.”

A gentle and serene female voice rang out, naturally carrying an undeniable authority.

Peretti looked up.

An elf girl stood there, slightly shorter than Olivia, yet possessing a far more graceful and restrained presence.

She wore a pale moon-colored robe. Her light green hair resembled a flowing forest stream, while her emerald eyes held the deep calm of wisdom and countless passing years.

Olivia stood slightly behind her in attendance.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Sevyara—now dressed in tight leather armor provided by the elves—was awkwardly tugging at the edges of her clothes with visible discomfort.

“Good day, Miss Peretti, Witch of Light. I am the Second Elf King of the elf race, Xiaomu Muraka.”

“You may simply call me Xiaomu. There’s no need to include the surname—I get confused easily.”

Elf King Xiaomu walked before Peretti with a calm attitude entirely devoid of arrogance, yet naturally possessing a tranquil dignity that inspired admiration.

“Seriously, what’s wrong with you elves? It’s been hundreds of years and your fashion sense is still this awful.”

Sevyara awkwardly tugged at the tight leather outfit she wore. While it was convenient for movement, she felt uncomfortable no matter how she wore it.

“Don’t you have anything looser?”

“My apologies. The elf race only has clothing like this, so you’ll have to bear with it for now.”

Olivia spoke apologetically, though the teasing smile on her face never faded for even a moment.

“You like loose clothes? You should’ve said so earlier.”

Peretti pulled a white draping robe from beneath her cloak.

While its size wasn’t really suited for Sevyara, the greatest advantage of such robes was how easy they were to alter. As long as the excess fabric was trimmed away, even smaller people could wear them comfortably.

Sevyara stared at the white cloth in her hands, carefully rubbing the fabric between her fingers.

Then she suddenly exploded:

“Don’t give me that bullshit—you’re totally the God of Death, aren’t you?! This kind of clothing already disappeared before I was even alive! Where the hell did you get it from?!”

“Hm?”

Peretti tilted her head slightly, her golden eyes narrowing as her tone lifted gently upward.

Sevyara instantly felt invisible pressure descend upon her.

Her neck shrank back as she stammered out a correction:

“M-Mo… Mother…”
