Chapter 17: The Angel’s Unwilling Awakening

Lucia rubbed her blindfold for a long time, growing tired. Before she knew it, she drifted off to sleep.

Lucia slept fitfully through the night. She was roused by an irritating itch on her face, but her vision remained a profound darkness. Ropes still bound her body, hands, and feet, leaving her utterly unable to move.

From a spot disconcertingly close by, she heard the familiar giggling of a girl.

It was Crowlina Yass!

Damn her! She had clearly saved Crowlina, yet this was the thanks she received—bound and helpless!

Lucia seethed with anger. She had no desire to speak to Crowlina. The Yass family, much like the Valga royalty, was undoubtedly coveting her, the angel, and would never let her go.

The more Lucia listened to Crowlina’s laughter, the more her fury mounted. She let out a frustrated huff, then turned over, presenting her back to Crowlina.

“The Angel has awakened,” Crowlina purred, lying on her side beside Lucia. “Greetings, esteemed Angel. Hehehe~” Watching Lucia’s clumsy attempt to turn over, Crowlina could not resist teasing her further.

Her mood was exceptionally bright. Never before had she felt such elation.

After capturing Lucia yesterday, she had spent the entire night gathering intelligence from the capital.

The Angel had been abducted, vanishing without a trace. The old King, consumed by rage and anxiety, had fallen gravely ill and was now bedridden. Prince Rod Valga’s attempts to suppress the news had failed, and he was currently mobilizing forces to investigate the Angel’s abduction.

Numerous envoys, including Crowlina’s own sister, remained stranded in the capital. It would likely be two or three more days before the city was unsealed, after Prince Rod Valga had thoroughly searched every corner.

Scouts had also reported news from the Valga border. Inspections for those attempting to leave the country had been drastically increased to prevent the Angel from being smuggled out.

This would pose a formidable challenge for ordinary kidnappers, but for the renowned Yass family, it was a mere trifle.

Direct teleportation across the border was impossible, given the distance limitations of teleportation magic and the anti-magic fields deployed at border checkpoints. However, with the Yass family’s extensive operations within Valga, smuggling a small angel out would be remarkably easy.

Thus, Crowlina believed the situation was entirely favorable and had already begun arranging their departure. Everything would be ready by this evening.

For the entirety of this day, Crowlina was the sole mistress of the estate. Moreover, she held in her grasp the esteemed Angel, whom the entire world coveted.

How could Crowlina, with her penchant for playful mischief, possibly restrain herself? She practically yearned to have her way with Lucia right then and there.

Noticing Lucia’s back turned to her, looking like a sulking child, Crowlina leaned closer. She gently poked Lucia’s cheek with her slender index finger, savoring the soft warmth beneath her touch. “Is the Angel angry?” she asked.

“Hmph.” Lucia huffed again. Wasn’t it obvious? Wouldn’t Crowlina be angry if she were kidnapped?

“Hehe, alright, my esteemed Angel, it’s already morning. You should get up now.”

Without waiting for a response, Crowlina lifted Lucia and placed her in a chair, securing her in place.

Though Lucia could not see, her smooth movement suggested she had been bound to a wheelchair and was being pushed into a sunlit area.

Sunlight fell upon her face, warm and penetrating the dark blindfold, painting her vision with a hazy, dark red hue.

“What do you want to do?” Lucia asked, a hint of unease in her voice.

“Why, to serve you as you wash up, of course.”

“Please open your mouth, Your Eminence, so I may brush your teeth,” Crowlina said, her voice brimming with delight, much like a certain tax evader. She seemed to relish this task.

Lucia let out a cold snort. She clamped her mouth shut. ‘I refuse.’

“Hehe, being too stubborn isn’t a good thing, you know.”

Lucia continued to keep her mouth tightly shut, maintaining a cold indifference.

“However, my sister adores stubborn girls. Especially watching their journey from defiance to submission… Hehe.”

Suddenly, Lucia felt her nose pinched, cutting off her breath. She knew Crowlina was forcing her to open her mouth to breathe.

But she absolutely would not!

Ten seconds, twenty seconds, thirty seconds, a full minute passed.

Crowlina watched with keen interest as Lucia’s face turned crimson, like a ripe mountain apple in autumn. Its redness made Crowlina want to take a bite.

The taste, she imagined, would surely be sweet and succulent.

“Pfft, huff, huff~” Finally, Lucia could hold her breath no longer and gasped for fresh air.

Lucia tragically realized she had no means of resistance whatsoever. With a sigh of resignation, she parted her lips, allowing Crowlina to insert the bristle toothbrush and move it in and out.

‘Hmm. Not brushing teeth isn’t being a good child. Our goal is no cavities.’

Lucia convinced herself and calmly accepted Crowlina’s ministrations.

In truth, she had experienced being served while brushing her teeth on the day of the Grand Ritual. It wasn’t something she found particularly repulsive. Her earlier resistance stemmed more from her anger at being kidnapped by Crowlina.

“Rinse your mouth,” Crowlina instructed, holding a water cup to Lucia’s lips. Lucia took a mouthful of water and gargled.

“Spit it out.” Crowlina held a basin to Lucia’s chest, catching the rinse water Lucia expelled. With a handkerchief, she meticulously wiped the water from the corners of Lucia’s mouth.

Though Lucia did not fully understand, she could tell that Crowlina seemed to be enjoying herself immensely.

Another enigma was added to Lucia’s life. Ultimately, it was a case of ‘regretting the lack of knowledge when it’s needed most’—she hadn’t read enough study materials to comprehend the reason for Crowlina’s joy.
