Chapter 20: The Angel and the Fledgling

In the open-air courtyard, Lucia was bound hand and foot, secured in a wheelchair. An eye mask covered her eyes, leaving her blushing furiously and utterly incapable of resistance.

Just ten centimeters from her earlobe, Crowlina watched Lucia’s discomfiture with a beaming smile.

In the past, Crowlina often played such games with her sister, but she was always the submissive one. Though she had long wished to take the lead, Princess Delia Yass consistently dominated her, leaving Crowlina no choice but to be the one on the receiving end.

As for the maids and slaves, while they allowed Crowlina to do as she pleased, they were nothing more than common, uninteresting women, making her games feel dull.

Now, however, she had the unique opportunity to tease the world’s sole, exalted Angel. Lucia’s noble status, combined with her unparalleled beauty, brought Crowlina an incomparable psychological gratification.

Her palm traced Lucia’s crimson cheek, feeling the burning heat of her skin.

Witnessing Lucia tremble like a startled animal the moment her hand touched her face, Crowlina experienced an inexpressible sense of delight.

“Angel, you have been confined to the deep palace by the Valga royal family since childhood, meticulously cared for,” Crowlina asked teasingly. “Surely, you are a fledgling, knowing nothing, having experienced nothing?”

“Wh-what fledgling? What are you talking about? I don’t understand,” Lucia retorted loudly, attempting to sound less easily intimidated. Yet, her stutter betrayed her panic.

Crowlina’s smile widened, and she stroked Lucia’s cheek with her thumb. She inquired with effortless ease,

“Are you afraid?”

“N-no, I’m not!”

Lucia struggled again, but her hands remained tied behind her back, and her legs were still firmly bound together. Fixed to the wheelchair, she couldn’t even lift her knees.

All she could do was bluff.

“You, do you even know what you are doing?!”

“A mere duke’s daughter, daring to overstep your bounds!”

“I, I am an Angel!”

“Heheheh~” Crowlina chuckled, her excitement growing. Indeed, watching prey struggle was a delightful experience.

“Heh, you, perhaps you are not even a fledgling yet. You are merely unhatched.”

“Soon, I shall have the pleasure of assisting you in your hatching.”

“Ugh! Wh-wh-wh-what are you trying to do?!”

Lucia gasped in terror, leaning back so sharply that the entire wheelchair toppled over, clattering to the ground.

“Ouch,” Lucia whimpered. She felt her legs could now lift, and her body was somewhat freer. The wheelchair’s restraints had loosened, allowing her to tumble out and wriggle on the grass.

Lucia desperately crawled away from Crowlina, intent on escaping. She certainly did not wish to experience the sensation of “hatching.”

Crowlina strolled over with an unhurried grace, blocking Lucia’s path in just a few steps. She helped Lucia sit upright on the grass.

“You truly are clumsy, aren’t you? Falling even while sitting in a chair.”

“It seems the only way to ensure your safety is to suspend you from the ceiling. What do you think?”

Lucia’s mind immediately flashed to her first encounter with Crowlina yesterday: a girl hanging in the dungeon, blindfolded, gagged with a ball-gag, and bound immovably.

Just imagining herself in that position…

Terrifying!

Lucia trembled with fear, utterly terrified.

“No! You cannot do this to me!”

“I, I… I belong to your sister!”

“Your sister said so!”

“I am hers!”

“Do you want your sister to punish you?!”

In her desperation, Lucia suddenly understood the entire situation. The owners of this mansion were the two Princess Yass sisters. Only Princess Delia, the elder sister, could hang Crowlina, the second princess, in a dungeon.

She knew the elder princess’s gaze upon her was also far from kind, laden with naked aggression. These two sisters, one a wolf and the other a tiger, both wanted to devour her. Faced with the immediate threat of Crowlina, the hungry wolf, Lucia could only choose Princess Delia, the distant tiger, and borrow her prestige once more.

Crowlina’s triumphant words abruptly ceased, and she hesitated. She truly was wary of Princess Delia.

Lucia saw a glimmer of hope. With a powerful twist of her body, she broke free from Crowlina’s embrace.

“Your sister declared it on the day of the Grand Ceremony—that I am hers, and no one can touch me!”

“If you dare harm me, Princess Delia will not let you off easily!”

“Oh, as expected of Her Angelic Grace, truly intelligent.” Crowlina’s tone shifted, losing its former ambiguity and becoming considerably more serious.

She lifted Lucia, securing her back into the wheelchair. Then, she gently brushed the blades of grass from Lucia’s clothes.

“If it is my sister’s will, I naturally will not defy it.”

“For now, I shall let you rest for two days.”

“However, when my sister returns and uncovers any deceit, you had best be prepared.”

“At that time, it will not be my gentle self attending to your ‘hatching’.”

“Given my sister’s inclinations, it’s ten to one that both she and I will assist you in your ‘hatching’.”

Having spoken, Crowlina playfully pinched Lucia’s baby-soft cheek. Seeing Lucia’s ashen face, her mood brightened considerably.

Seizing the moment while Lucia was still dazed, Crowlina forced open Lucia’s small mouth and inserted a porous ball, preventing her from speaking. She then pushed Lucia back into the villa and arranged for servants to escort her for a bath.
