Chapter 35: The Master’s Gentle Touch

She walked to the water dispenser in the corner of the ward. Using a disposable cup, she drew some hot water, then took another empty cup, repeatedly pouring the hot water back and forth to quickly lower its temperature.

Once the water reached a suitable temperature, she returned to the bedside. She gently held the cup to Lin Shishi’s lips.

Lin Shishi attempted to reach for the cup herself. However, her arm trembled with weakness.

“No need,” Song Qinghuan said softly. “I’ll feed you.”

Song Qinghuan’s voice was gentle. With one hand, she supported Lin Shishi’s neck, tilting the cup.

Lin Shishi drank in small sips, her throat subtly moving. A single drop of water escaped the corner of her mouth, tracing a path down her chin to her collarbone.

Song Qinghuan gently wiped it away with her thumb. Her fingertip brushed against the warmth of Lin Shishi’s skin.

“But, you’re my Master…”

Lin Shishi mumbled weakly after drinking, her eyes half-open as she looked at Song Qinghuan. Her gaze was moist, like a lake veiled in mist.

“There’s no Master now.”

Song Qinghuan’s lips curved slightly, her tone gentle. “I’m your Sister Qinghuan. Of course, you can also call me hubby.”

Lin Shishi softly hummed in response.

She then licked her lips, a fleeting flash of her small pink tongue leaving a sheen of moisture on her dry lips.

Song Qinghuan watched her, her heart suddenly quickening by a few beats.

She leaned in, gently kissing Lin Shishi’s lips.

At first, it was just a light touch. But Lin Shishi didn’t refuse; instead, she subtly tilted her chin, her lips parting slightly.

Song Qinghuan deepened the kiss.

Lin Shishi let out a muffled ‘mmph,’ yet her arms reached up to encircle Song Qinghuan’s neck.

The kiss grew more intense, leaving only the sound of their breathing in the ward.

After a long while, they finally parted.

Lin Shishi gasped for air, her cheeks flushed, whether from the fever or the kiss, she couldn’t say.

She whispered, “My head still aches a little…”

Song Qinghuan rested her forehead against Lin Shishi’s, her voice low and soft. “Just now, your fever nearly hit forty degrees…”

She paused, her tone turning serious. “So I need to reflect. Starting today, I’m going to be gentler with you.”

Lin Shishi suddenly burst into a giggle. Though weak, her laugh was clear and crisp. “No need for that.”

“Why not?”

Song Qinghuan was taken aback.

“I like being severely punished by Sister Qinghuan,” Lin Shishi said, blinking her eyes mischievously. “It’s just that I probably catch a cold and fever once every few months. As long as I’m not sick, my body can handle it.”

As she spoke, she extended the tip of her tongue, delicately licking her upper lip—a gesture both innocent and alluring.

“You little tease…”

Song Qinghuan couldn’t help but laugh aloud, tapping her finger on Lin Shishi’s nose. “It’s truly ingrained in you!”

Lin Shishi giggled, her voice still hoarse from her illness, yet already regaining its usual vivacity.

She shifted closer to Song Qinghuan until their noses almost touched.

The IV tube swayed gently, the medication dripping steadily.

“Sister Qinghuan,” she whispered, her warm breath caressing Song Qinghuan’s lips. “When I’m sick, you seem especially gentle.”

“Nonsense, am I not usually gentle?”

Song Qinghuan raised an eyebrow, though her hand gently smoothed Lin Shishi’s disheveled long hair.

Truth be told, Song Qinghuan considered herself a gentle girl at heart.

After all, her persona had always been that of a gentle, beautiful elder sister.

Even with her internal cultivation, she rarely resorted to violence—unless she truly couldn’t help it.

If not for this exceptional little tease…

She wouldn’t bother with this troublesome contract… or serving her…

“You’re always gentle,” Lin Shishi said, her eyes curving into crescent moons. “Especially when playing… cards…”

Song Qinghuan’s ears flushed. She made a motion to pinch Lin Shishi’s cheek, but her hand, mid-air, transformed into a tender caress.

Her fingertips glided from Lin Shishi’s cheek to her chin, then to her neck, finally resting on her collarbone.

Lin Shishi’s skin was delicate, and her body temperature hadn’t fully dropped, making her touch warm and soft.

They leaned against each other, speaking in hushed tones, the soft ward lights casting a gentle glow upon them.

Lin Shishi’s white gown was somewhat loose, revealing one rounded shoulder and a black bra strap.

Her legs were crossed, her feet extending from the end of the bed, her toes unconsciously wiggling gently.

As the second bottle of medication was almost finished, Song Qinghuan pressed the call bell for the nurse.

The nurse, a smiling young woman, took Lin Shishi’s temperature, then happily announced, “Alright, you can be discharged. Her fever has completely broken.”

She carefully removed the needle, pressing a cotton ball onto the needle mark on Lin Shishi’s hand.

Lin Shishi sat up. Her white gown slipped from her shoulder, and though she quickly pulled it up, a sliver of her slender waist and the edge of black thong were still revealed.

The nurse glanced over, her smile deepening, but said nothing. She simply efficiently tidied the IV equipment and left.

“Yay, I survived another one!”

Lin Shishi threw her hands up, cheering like a child, her beautiful hair swaying with her movements. “I catch a cold and fever five or six times a year, about once every two months.”

Song Qinghuan watched her joyful expression, a faint blush of tenderness tingeing her eyes.

‘What a poor little girl,’ she thought. ‘Her constitution truly isn’t good.’

‘But… honestly, she’s really a tease!’

‘Her body is so weak, yet she’s so alluring… Is this really okay? Will it shorten her lifespan?’

As she was lost in thought, Lin Shishi had already climbed out of bed, standing barefoot on the cool floor.

She was petite, her head only reaching Song Qinghuan’s mouth. She immediately looked up, “Master…”

She didn’t finish, as Song Qinghuan had already squatted down.

Song Qinghuan gently massaged Lin Shishi’s instep with her thumb, whispering, “The floor is cold. Don’t stand barefoot.”

Lin Shishi obediently let her hold her foot, but her other foot restlessly rubbed against Song Qinghuan’s calf.

“What about my clothes, then?”

As she uttered this, the female nurse nearby paused, turning her head, only to see Lin Shishi already taking off the loose white gown.

The nurse’s face instantly flushed crimson, and she quickly turned and walked away.

Song Qinghuan smiled. “These aren’t your clothes. You’ll have to wrap yourself in the blanket for now, and I’ll carry you out. But it’s fine, your small frame is so light, I can easily carry you.”

Lin Shishi’s face was bright red, even her earlobes tinged with pink. She whispered, “That’s too much trouble.”

“What trouble? You’re Master’s little pet, isn’t it good for Master to carry you?” Song Qinghuan stepped closer and reached out to ruffle her hair.

“Good.”

Lin Shishi smiled sweetly, immediately shrinking into the white blanket, allowing Song Qinghuan to pick her up, blanket and all.

The blanket wasn’t wrapped tightly. Her hair spilled out, spreading like ink, further accentuating her delicate small face.

Her two beautiful little feet were also exposed, dangling slightly.

Song Qinghuan couldn’t help but smile, carrying her out.

“So cute… Maybe I should put a little bell on your feet from now on. It would jingle constantly every day, and I wouldn’t have to worry about you being taken away by bad women.”

“Okay!”

Lin Shishi’s voice came from within the blanket, muffled but filled with joy.

And so, Song Qinghuan carried Lin Shishi out of the hospital.
