Chapter 29: The Formal Introduction and a Trip to Xinjing

Dai Canglan, on the other end of the line, finally couldn’t hold back her laughter.

“Alright, alright, let’s get down to business. Shishi, you’ll need to take two days off and head to Xinjing. I’ll go with you; Auntie wants to meet you formally. After the meeting, I can stay there and play with you for two days. Got it?”

“I want to go too!” Song Qinghuan immediately exclaimed into the phone.

“Hmph, there’s no place for you. You’re not part of our Dai family,” Dai Canglan’s voice grew several degrees colder.

“But I’m Shishi’s ‘husband,’ her ‘master.’ Isn’t that enough?”

As Song Qinghuan spoke, her hand glided to Lin Shishi’s waist. It was impossibly slender, so much so that her hand could encircle most of it.

She deliberately tightened her arm, pulling Lin Shishi closer into her embrace. “Shishi will marry someday, and I am her ‘man,’ hehehe.”

Lin Shishi let out a soft hum, her body leaning limply against Song Qinghuan’s.

Dai Canglan, through the phone, huffed in exasperation. “Absolutely not! At least, in Auntie’s plans, you have no part.”

“Then what about Shishi’s own plans?”

Song Qinghuan persisted, lifting Lin Shishi’s chin with a finger, forcing her to meet her gaze. “I refuse to believe Shishi doesn’t have the right to make her own plans. What do you say?”

Lin Shishi looked at the face so close to hers—a face both beautiful and domineering.

She quickly nodded, her voice soft yet clear. “Yes, I request that Sister Qinghuan accompany me, to be with me the entire time—twenty-four hours a day!”

A brilliant smile instantly bloomed on Song Qinghuan’s face.

She wrapped her arms tightly around Lin Shishi’s waist, pulling the girl fully into her embrace.

Lin Shishi gasped softly, her hands instinctively bracing against Song Qinghuan’s shoulders.

This posture caused her short skirt to ride up further, her thighs almost completely exposed, her skin gleaming with a delicate sheen under the lights.

“Did you hear that?”

Song Qinghuan said triumphantly into the phone. “Shishi wants me to accompany her.”

Dai Canglan was silent for a few seconds on the other end, finally huffing reluctantly. “Whatever. But be on your best behavior when you meet her; don’t cause any trouble in front of Auntie.”

“Got it,” Song Qinghuan replied dismissively, her hand already naughtily tracing Lin Shishi’s back.

“Oh, right, how are we getting to Xinjing? By plane?”

“No…” Lin Shishi immediately shook her head, her voice laced with timidity. “I’m scared of flying. Can we take the high-speed train instead?”

Song Qinghuan pondered for a moment. “The high-speed train, huh? That works too. It’s a bit slower, but we can spend more time together.”

Dai Canglan grumbled from the other end of the phone. “Alright, alright, I’ll indulge you two. So, tomorrow at ten in the morning, we’ll meet at the high-speed train station. I’ll arrange your tickets shortly. Also, remember to bring some formal clothes; Auntie doesn’t like casual attire.”

The call disconnected.

The room instantly fell silent, leaving only the intertwined sounds of their breathing.

Song Qinghuan still held Lin Shishi by the waist, her other hand caressing Lin Shishi’s cheek. “You did well just now.”

“Mhm, I’ll go pack…” Lin Shishi said, smoothly sliding out of her embrace, preparing to organize her clothes.

Song Qinghuan hugged her from behind again, resting her chin on Lin Shishi’s shoulder. “In front of Dai Canglan from now on, you’ll be like that, understand? You’re mine.”

Lin Shishi nodded gently, her hair brushing against Song Qinghuan’s cheek.

Outside the window, night deepened.

Rain Market, being by the sea, allowed the faint sound of the tide to be heard.

In this third-floor room facing the ocean, warm yellow light spilled from the window, creating a small halo in the night.

Lin Shishi opened her wardrobe and began selecting clothes.

Meeting the ‘queen’ tomorrow meant she couldn’t dress too casually, nor too formally.

She pulled out a white dress, held it against herself, and turned to Song Qinghuan. “Is this one okay?”

The dress featured a cinched waist and a hemline that reached her ankles.

Song Qinghuan walked over, wrapped her arms around Lin Shishi’s waist from behind, and looked at their reflection in the mirror. “It’s fine, but you have to wear the set I gave you underneath.”

Lin Shishi’s ears turned red again. “That set is too…”

“Too what?”

Song Qinghuan bit her ear playfully. “You’re mine, so of course, I decide what you wear.”

Lin Shishi no longer argued, merely nodding softly, her earlobes so red they looked as if they might drip blood.

Song Qinghuan released her with satisfaction and turned towards the bathroom. “I’ll shower first; you take your time packing.”

The bathroom door closed, and the sound of water began.

Lin Shishi stood still, gazing at her reflection in the mirror—twin pigtails, a beautiful, delicate face, and a slender figure.

Truth be told, while she was somewhat satisfied with her figure and face, she always felt too weak.

Thus, she envied Song Qinghuan’s carefree and assertive nature.

Yet, strangely, countless young women admired her own petite, youthful beauty.

‘This world, huh…’

The young girl sighed softly.

That night, the light in the rented room was soft and dim.

Lin Shishi ultimately couldn’t escape Song Qinghuan’s grasp.

Right after her shower, she was gently embraced by Song Qinghuan from behind.

And then… there was no ‘then.’

“Don’t… we have to wake up early tomorrow…”

“There’s still time.”

****

After the storm.

The young girl lay sprawled on the windowsill.

The night breeze blew in from the sea, carrying a slightly salty coolness.

Lin Shishi lay there, her waist and hip curves undulating gracefully, her small ankles peeking out from beneath her sleepwear.

‘The sea breeze is wonderful…’

‘Big Sister is also wonderful…’

‘The only thing not wonderful is tomorrow’s schedule…’

****

Daybreak arrived.

Sunlight streamed through the blinds, cutting into long, narrow strips that fell upon Lin Shishi’s face.

She was curled in Song Qinghuan’s arms, her sleeping face serene, her long lashes gently lowered.

Her long hair fanned out on the pillow, a few strands clinging to her damp forehead.

Song Qinghuan woke first, watching her for a long moment before gently pinching her cheek. “Time to get up, little sleepyhead. Let’s get dressed…”

Lin Shishi rubbed her eyes and sat up, her sleepwear sliding off her shoulders. She then hopped off the bed barefoot and ran to the wardrobe.

She put on the white long dress she had chosen yesterday—a square neckline, mid-length sleeves, and an ankle-length hem, made of soft, flowing fabric.

After changing, she stood before the mirror and twirled.

The dress cinched perfectly at the waist, and the curve of the bust was subtly beautiful. Below the hem, her ankles were as delicate as porcelain.

She then untied her twin pigtails, letting her long hair cascade down, the ends slightly curled, resting on her shoulders.

Instantly, the little girl who was always on the verge of tears from being teased transformed into an elegant, delicate princess—though her eyes remained clear and childlike, a captivating contradiction.

Song Qinghuan’s mind went blank, her blood rushing with heat.

She nearly lunged forward to press Lin Shishi against the mirror.

But she held back.

Lin Shishi’s complexion was still a little pale, her lips faint, clearly having been ‘exhausted’ quite thoroughly.

“Does it look good?” Lin Shishi turned, asking timidly.

“…Beautiful.”

Song Qinghuan’s voice was slightly hoarse. “So beautiful, it makes one want to mess it up.”

Lin Shishi’s ears turned red.

Song Qinghuan also changed her clothes and applied elegant, subtly alluring makeup.

She wore a black dress with a high slit in the skirt, subtly revealing her fair thighs as she moved.

The two stood together, one pure white and soft, the other dark and bold, yet they formed a strangely harmonious picture.

As they left, Song Qinghuan carried her bag, and Lin Shishi linked arms with her.

An hour later, they arrived at the high-speed train station by car.
