Chapter 16: A Spicy Revelation and a Royal Interruption

Gu Meilan finally withdrew her hand, yet her gaze lingered on Lin Shishi.

She scrutinized Lin Shishi’s attire from head to toe, her eyes tracing from her flowing long hair down to her delicate collarbone.

Her gaze continued to the alluring curve of her bust, encased in a form-fitting dress, then to her slender waist, rounded hips, and straight, long legs.

Finally, her eyes rested on Lin Shishi’s beautiful small feet, adorned with red sandals.

“Your outfit…”

Gu Meilan licked her lips. “It’s truly excellent. Did Song Qinghuan pick it out for you?”

“Mm,” Lin Shishi whispered in response, not daring to meet Gu Meilan’s eyes.

Gu Meilan smiled, instantly recalling the first time she had seen Lin Shishi.

It was the very first day Song Qinghuan had arrived at Yu Harbor University.

The dormitory door swung open, and Song Qinghuan and Gu Meilan walked in side by side.

It was then that Gu Meilan spotted Lin Shishi, diligently tidying her bed.

That day, Lin Shishi wore a simple white shirt and jeans. The shirt’s hem was tucked into her waistband, subtly outlining her slender waist. On her feet were clean white sneakers, their laces neatly tied.

Gu Meilan deliberately whistled at Lin Shishi, her eyes scanning over her.

“New classmate?” she asked with a smile, her voice naturally laced with a hint of flirtation.

Lin Shishi merely nodded shyly, hesitant to speak too loudly.

At that moment, Gu Meilan had taken quite a liking to Lin Shishi. She had secretly wished to pursue this girl, who appeared as pure as a little white rabbit.

However, the young girl seemed rather indifferent to everything, preferring to quietly write in her diary on her bed.

What Gu Meilan didn’t know, however, was that Lin Shishi was, in fact, a complete little firecracker in disguise.

Recalling this past memory, Gu Meilan chuckled, then turned to Song Qinghuan. “Why the rush to talk business? Let’s sort out our stomachs first. We can chat while we eat.”

“No argument there! Whatever you want to eat, your sister here will treat you!” Song Qinghuan declared, her arm naturally draping over Lin Shishi’s shoulder. Her fingers gently caressed Lin Shishi’s shoulder—a silent declaration of possession.

Even with her closest friend, her best buddy, she had to assert her dominance.

Regardless of anything, Lin Shishi had already become her little cream puff.

And she had been ‘filled’ more than once.

Precisely for this reason, anyone who dared to harbor designs on Lin Shishi would face her furious retaliation.

Seeing Song Qinghuan’s words, Gu Meilan’s eyes sparkled, and a smile played on her red lips.

“Then let’s go to our university cafeteria. There’s a small stir-fry place there; their stir-fried dishes are incredibly authentic.”

Song Qinghuan immediately smiled too. “Alright, then we’ll go there.”

Instantly, Gu Meilan reached out again, intending to link hands with Lin Shishi.

Her hand was just about to touch Lin Shishi’s wrist when Song Qinghuan swiftly swatted it away.

“Remember this: don’t touch my little darling, or I’ll break off our friendship!” Song Qinghuan declared loudly, glaring at Gu Meilan.

Gu Meilan rubbed her reddened hand, pouting. “Break off what?”

Suddenly, she leaned closer to Song Qinghuan and said with a mischievous grin, “Do you often use such ‘postures’ with your little darling?”

As she uttered the words “postures,” her voice rose at the end, carrying a clear, suggestive double meaning.

Lin Shishi finally couldn’t help but let out a soft giggle, covering her mouth with her hand.

But as she laughed, her face flushed crimson.

After all…

This topic was, to some extent, a bit wicked.

Song Qinghuan couldn’t help but playfully hit Gu Meilan.

“Look at you, you little pervert, your mouth is full of dirty jokes.”

Gu Meilan burst into laughter. “Look, even little classmate Shishi, so pure and innocent, understands these kinds of jokes.”

Song Qinghuan, however, deliberately gazed deeply at Lin Shishi, a faint smile playing on her lips.

“She understands far more than you do; she just likes to pretend.”

As soon as Song Qinghuan said this, Lin Shishi instantly grew flustered again.

The young girl’s fingers began to intertwine nervously.

However, Song Qinghuan immediately pulled her closer, her arm tightening around Lin Shishi’s shoulder, and whispered with a chuckle, “Little darling, I’m complimenting you. I just love that fiery spirit of yours.”

Lin Shishi let out a soft ‘ying’ sound.

Her face grew even redder.

‘I’m clearly very pure,’ she thought.

‘Who’s fiery?’

‘Hmph!’

‘You’re fiery!’

‘Your whole family is fiery!’

Amidst their playful banter, the three young women soon arrived at the stir-fry restaurant.

The small eatery was nestled in a corner of the campus cafeteria, simply decorated but spotlessly clean.

There weren’t many customers inside, only a few tables of students chatting in low tones.

They chose a window seat.

Lin Shishi sat furthest in, Song Qinghuan sat next to her, and Gu Meilan took the seat opposite.

This seating arrangement allowed Gu Meilan to clearly observe Lin Shishi’s every movement, including her tightly pressed legs beneath the table.

Lin Shishi’s posture was very ladylike, her legs pressed together and angled, her skirt covering most of her thighs, revealing only the part below her knees.

Gu Meilan’s posture, however, was much more relaxed.

Song Qinghuan sat sideways, one hand resting on the back of Lin Shishi’s chair.

Song Qinghuan ordered six stir-fried dishes—four meat and two vegetable—and a dozen beers.

Returning after placing the order, Gu Meilan boisterously brought the beers to the table.

She tore open the packaging, and with a rapid series of “papapapa,” instantly opened all twelve bottles of beer.

Lin Shishi’s eyes widened, staring at the dozen cold, sweating beer bottles on the table.

‘This is… an awful lot to drink,’ she thought.

Song Qinghuan, however, waved her hand, saying, “We still have class this afternoon. Why did you open so many?”

Gu Meilan scoffed, picked up a bottle, and took a large gulp of beer. “You think I don’t know your alcohol tolerance? One bottle to rinse your mouth, two to whet your appetite, three to get started, four to feel it, and five or six are no problem at all. We’ll each have five bottles, and the remaining two are for our beautiful little sister-in-law.”

As she said “sister-in-law,” her eyes were fixed on Lin Shishi, her gaze lingering on her face for a few seconds before slowly sliding down, past her neck, chest, and waist, finally settling on her legs beneath the table.

Song Qinghuan spat in disgust. “How could she drink?”

Gu Meilan raised an eyebrow. “What, my sister-in-law can’t drink?”

Lin Shishi’s delicate brows furrowed slightly. “No, I really can’t drink.”

Gu Meilan smiled. “Then just one bottle. Drink a little; a touch of red on a beauty’s face makes her even more charming and pleasing.”

As she spoke, she picked up a bottle of beer, tilted it, and the amber liquid slowly poured into the glass in front of Lin Shishi.

Lin Shishi’s fingers clutched her skirt, her fingertips pressing slightly, causing tiny wrinkles to form in the fabric.

Song Qinghuan then whispered, “Then just drink a little bit. Anyway, there’s only one class this afternoon; at worst, we’ll just skip it.”

When she mentioned “skipping class,” Song Qinghuan’s lips curved into a wicked smile, a clear hint in her expression.

Lin Shishi knew without thinking what skipping class would entail.

It would definitely mean continuing to… ‘bully’ her.

Perhaps learning idioms…

Or learning foreign languages…

‘Ying…’

This thought made her cheeks flush even redder, even her earlobes tinged with pink.

Just then, Gu Meilan’s chopsticks fell to the ground.

As Gu Meilan bent down to pick them up, her movements suddenly froze.

She stared blankly at Lin Shishi.

Then she slowly straightened up, holding the dropped chopsticks in her hand. A complex expression—surprise, amusement, and a hint of suppressed excitement—appeared on her face.

“Tsk, tsk, tsk.”

Gu Meilan sat back in her chair, her eyes fixed on Lin Shishi, a knowing smile playing on her lips. “I didn’t realize you two were so adventurous.”

Song Qinghuan paused, instantly understanding what had happened.

However, Song Qinghuan rolled her eyes, reached out to pat Lin Shishi’s hand reassuringly, then turned to Gu Meilan and whispered, “Shut up, you little b*tch. You swallow this secret, do you hear me?”

Gu Meilan burst into laughter, leaning back against the chair. “Alright, alright, but you have to promise me one thing: you won’t stop me from genuinely caring for my little sister-in-law.”

Song Qinghuan scoffed, taking a large gulp of beer. “You’re only allowed to show verbal affection. Don’t go getting handsy, or I’ll beat you to a pulp!”

Gu Meilan deliberately let out a wail, covering her chest in a feigned gesture of injury, but then she smirked. “Speaking of which, how far have you two gone? Have you reached the ‘strolling hand-in-hand’ stage?”

Lin Shishi merely sipped her beer in small mouthfuls, her head so low it almost touched the table.

Song Qinghuan rolled her eyes. “None of your business. But I advise you to find a girl quickly. As for my woman, don’t even think about her. No matter how easy she is to bully, you’re not allowed to, got it?”

Gu Meilan’s voice held a hint of disappointment. “Alright…”

“By the way, who bullied my sister-in-law today?” Gu Meilan suddenly changed the topic.

At that moment, the stir-fried dishes began to arrive, their steaming aromas filling the air.

Song Qinghuan picked up a piece of stir-fried pork intestines for Lin Shishi.

But the young girl bit her lip, waving her hand to indicate she didn’t like to eat it.

Song Qinghuan then put the pork intestines into her own mouth, chewing as she said, “Her name is Dai Canglan.”

“Dai Canglan?” Gu Meilan was instantly stunned. “Is she the tall, very beautiful one?”

“That’s right, you know her?” Song Qinghuan frowned.

“Of course I know her… Speaking of which, do you really know who Dai Canglan is?” Gu Meilan muttered. “She’s Queen Dai Fanghua’s niece—”

“What!?”

Song Qinghuan was instantly dumbfounded. “Dai Fanghua’s niece? But… with such a prominent background, why would she be studying at Yu Harbor University?”

Gu Meilan leaned back in her chair again. “What’s so unusual about that? You, a mayor’s daughter, are also at Yu Harbor University. How much more impressive can a royal’s daughter be?”

Song Qinghuan put down her chopsticks, crossed her arms, and said coldly, “So, Old Gu, what’s your plan?”

Gu Meilan smiled, crossing her legs again. “In my opinion, it would be better if I mediated this matter. After all, my family is wealthy, and my father has also made political donations to the Dai family. Our Gu family has very extensive connections. I’ll bring both sides together so that everyone can prioritize peace in the future and stop fighting! After all, everyone’s status is extraordinary.”

Song Qinghuan said coldly, “Prioritizing peace isn’t impossible, but she must apologize first. Otherwise, I, Song Qinghuan, am not to be trifled with. Even if I don’t resort to violence against royalty, exposing her in the media and making her lose face would probably be enough to give her a hard time, wouldn’t it?”
