Chapter 23: Night’s Whisper: A Tale of Two Girls

Nightfall.

Two young girls were strolling along the campus tree-lined walkway.

Song Qinghuan smirked and leaned in close to the girl’s ear, whispering, “Oh, I almost forgot that today’s punishment hasn’t been carried out yet…. Why not here?”

Lin Shishi’s face instantly turned red.

This was Song Qinghuan’s rule, after all. And of course, the person who wrote the script was herself. So, she deserved it. Lin Shishi covered her face, looking around timidly, her small hands instinctively guarding her lower body.

But it was useless. Soon, Lin Shishi was dragged into the small grove. After Song Qinghuan severely punished the girl, she then held Lin Shishi’s shoulder and said softly, “Alright, darling, let’s go back and rest. We have classes early tomorrow!”

Lin Shishi whimpered, her voice soft and sweet like melted cotton candy.

And so, she was dragged by the older sister to the dorm building. The girl’s walk was now a bit unnatural. Luckily, they ran into the dorm manager.

The manager’s gaze was intense as she stared at Lin Shishi. “Shishi, what happened to you?” the manager asked, unable to hide her surprise.

Song Qinghuan hesitated for a moment before remembering that Lin Shishi had been singled out by Zhang Shulan, and naturally, the manager would be especially concerned for her. “Nothing, nothing. It just rained a bit earlier, so her hair’s a bit messy, and she’s a bit damp,” Song Qinghuan said, adjusting Lin Shishi’s pigtails as she spoke.

“But it wasn’t raining just now,” the manager said, pushing her glasses up. “It was probably yesterday, and she just fell a bit, right, Shishi?” Song Qinghuan pinched Lin Shishi’s palm.

“Yes, yes,” Lin Shishi nodded, biting her lip redder.

The manager looked doubtful, but the girls had already rushed up to the third floor, their little leather shoes tapping on the stairs in a flurry. The girl winced as she ran.

It was quite painful, after all. The manager shook her head resignedly as she stood in place, “Ah, young people…” She immediately picked up the walkie-talkie and spoke to Zhang Shulan, “Zhang Principal, everything seems to be fine, but Shishi is really…”

Zhang Shulan on the other end of the walkie-talkie, “Really what?”

The manager, “I can’t say it.”

Zhang Shulan, “It’s okay, just say it.”

“She really likes… being bullied,” the manager said in a lowered voice.

Zhang Shulan blushed and then chuckled, “It’s okay, as long as she’s not really being bullied. We can’t really interfere in these matters, can we? Alright, thank you for your hard work. Report anything that happens later.”

The manager nodded and ended the call.

Inside the room, Song Qinghuan pulled down all the curtains. She felt uneasy, as if there were cameras installed all around them. Her gaze swept across every corner of the room, suspicious that Zhang Shulan or the manager had tampered with anything, even checking under the bed.

Lin Shishi glanced at her, “Master, what’s wrong?”

“I’m afraid they’re monitoring us,” Song Qinghuan said, walking up to Lin Shishi and lifting her chin with her fingers, thumb stroking her reddish lips. The girl jumped in surprise, “They probably won’t, right?”

“Won’t? You silly, adorable little thing, how would you know how evil adults can be? They’d sacrifice our privacy for the sake of “protecting” you,” Lin Shishi bit her lip, “What should we do?”

“We’ll just make do for tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll go rent a place outside, so no matter what games we play, they shouldn’t find out, right?” Song Qinghuan grinned, her eyes bright, her breasts full against Lin Shishi’s arm.

“But renting a place, won’t it be a bit dangerous?” The girl’s hand unconsciously tightened on Song Qinghuan’s hem. “Relax, with your master here, what’s there to be afraid of?” Song Qinghuan laughed. Lin Shishi bit her lip again.

Of course, with Song Qinghuan around, safety wasn’t an issue. But, being bullied by the master was a must.

Soon, the two girls went to brush their teeth together. Song Qinghuan, facing the mirror, neatly combed her slightly messy hair and shoulder straps of her dress, and of course, she didn’t forget to tease the girl.

“Should I say, darling, you’re getting more and more beautiful,” Song Qinghuan said sweetly. But as she spoke, she also rubbed Lin Shishi down.

Lin Shishi looked at her fingers, unable to say the words “Bad Master” for half a day. She didn’t want to be punished more for saying the wrong thing when it was time to sleep.

After washing up, Song Qinghuan made Lin Shishi lie down on the bed and sleep obediently, even specifying the sleeping position. “You can’t sleep on your stomach, it’ll flatten your poor little butt,” Song Qinghuan scolded, her gaze falling on Lin Shishi’s butt under the nightgown. “Who taught you, a young girl, to sleep like this so often?”

Lin Shishi’s cheeks flared red, but she still obediently turned over, her small feet delicate and white, toes shyly curled. Seeing that Lin Shishi was lying on the bed like a lamb waiting for sacrifice, tightly wrapped in the blanket, only showing a red little face and hair scattered on the pillow, Song Qinghuan then went over, carefully tucking the blanket, her movements even gentle.

Then, she leaned over, lightly patting the girl’s elastic buttocks over the blanket, making a “pat pat” sound, “Okay, I demand you fall asleep within fifteen minutes, or else…” she said, and with a “slap,” Song Qinghuan turned off the dorm light and went to her own bed. Lin Shishi jumped in surprise. The girl bit the corner of the blanket, her beautiful eyes wide open. “Be good, close your eyes… You must cultivate the habit of falling asleep quickly,” Song Qinghuan said softly, seeing the girl’s small actions in the dim light from outside, “Don’t blame me, it’s your plot design. Should I say, you’re really cruel to yourself?” Lin Shishi pouted, thinking, “Why am I so mean to myself?”

She recalled when she wrote the novel, her heart beating fast, when it was just fantasy guiding her pen. But when it was her turn to carry out the plot, it wasn’t as comfortable. In fantasy, she was omnipotent, but in reality, she was a weak, shy, tired girl whose mouth would turn sore and tongue numb.

But, to be honest, Lin Shishi was a girl with strong self-discipline. She was crueler to herself than to others. So, she repeatedly told herself, “I must fall asleep within fifteen minutes, must fall asleep, must fall asleep…”

She began to breathe deeply, trying to empty her mind. After chanting like a spell for a while, in less than five minutes, she felt a heavy drowsiness, as if being wrapped in warm tides, her eyelids getting heavier and heavier, and then she fell into the dark sleep. Her breathing gradually became steady. Song Qinghuan was startled. She couldn’t help but go to the girl’s side, under the dim light from the window, carefully observing her. Song Qinghuan thought to herself, “Don’t pretend to sleep, or you’ll be severely punished tomorrow!” Her fingers lightly brushed Lin Shishi’s hair on the pillow. But she quietly observed the girl’s sleeping posture. The even, light breathing, the regular rise and fall of her chest, and the lips, slightly open and glistening with moisture after complete relaxation, were all signs of real sleep. Moreover, the girl seemed to be having a nice dream, her mouth curving into a sweet, defenseless smile, the blush on her cheeks not yet completely faded, like a child satisfied with candy. “Such a cute little girl, sleeping so soundly,” Song Qinghuan thought, a complex emotion welling up, pride, tenderness, and more desire to bully her. Lin Shishi, asleep, shed her shyness and intention when awake, her natural childishness and pure beauty more prominent, her hair messily spread on the pillow, making her small face even more delicate. In fact, only Lin Shishi herself knew how happy she was in her dreams. Dreams filtered out the tension of reality, leaving only the pure sense of being needed and filled. Song Qinghuan, on the other hand, felt a bit bored. Her little pet had fallen asleep, and no one was left to play with. Of course, she wouldn’t bear to wake her little pet again, so she could only quietly leave the bed. Lying on her own small bed, Song Qinghuan couldn’t help but think, “Life is sometimes so lucky, letting one meet such a cute little creature, especially thinking that the other party is a little princess with a very high status, which made Song Qinghuan feel even more incredulous. She even began to look forward to the future, to the day when the beautiful princess might have to sit on the solemn throne, accept the homage of the citizens, but only to her [bow and serve]. Thinking of this… Song Qinghuan almost laughed out loud.
