Chapter 40: The Improvised Oar

Song Qinghuan’s quick reflexes allowed her to seize Lin Shishi’s body instantly.

Had she not, the delicate beauty would have undoubtedly ended up soaked to the bone.

“Th-thank you, Master…” Lin Shishi murmured, her voice soft and sweet.

“You don’t row a boat like that—”

Song Qinghuan let out a soft chuckle, finally releasing Lin Shishi, though not before her fingers lingered to give a light squeeze to the girl’s waist.

Immediately after, Song Qinghuan picked up Lin Shishi’s small leather shoes, which still held the girl’s body warmth and a faint dampness from her feet. Leaning forward, she dipped the shoes into the lake and gently paddled twice, as if they were oars.

Subtle ripples spread across the water, and indeed, propelled by this meager force, the boat shifted forward ever so slightly, moving at an excruciatingly slow pace.

“See? It moves.” Song Qinghuan turned back, raising an eyebrow at Lin Shishi.

However, it had to be said that the loli’s feet were simply too small; a size thirty-five shoe could barely create any significant waves.

Lin Shishi watched her shoes soaking in the water, then glanced at the boat’s almost negligible movement. She couldn’t help but feel a mix of amusement and exasperation. “It moves, yes… but it’s far too slow, isn’t it? And my shoes…”

The young girl’s heart ached as she gazed at her beloved little leather shoes, their surfaces already wet.

They had cost several hundred yuan…

And now they were soaked by her ‘bad dog master’…

Her heart bled with distress.

Song Qinghuan herself frowned.

Clearly, she was very dissatisfied with the efficiency of these ‘shoe oars’.

She retrieved the shoes, and water droplets fell from their surfaces, collecting in a small puddle by her feet.

She looked at the damp shoes in her hand, then lifted her gaze to Lin Shishi, her eyes sweeping from top to bottom before finally settling on the girl’s legs, encased in white knee-high socks.

Lin Shishi’s heart began to pound under that scrutiny, an ominous premonition rising within her.

She instinctively pulled her feet back and crossed her arms protectively over her chest.

“M-Master… what are you planning now?”

Lin Shishi’s voice trembled slightly, and she subtly recoiled, her bottom shifting uneasily on the seat.

Song Qinghuan’s smile deepened.

She shook the shoes in her hand. “The shoes are too small; they don’t generate enough thrust. We need to increase the length and surface area of the oar.”

She paused, her gaze burning into Lin Shishi. “So… give me your socks.”

“Ah?!”

Lin Shishi’s eyes widened instantly. “W-what do you need my socks for?”

She stammered, her face rapidly turning crimson. “Socks… socks can’t paddle! And… and… socks are intimate apparel!”

Song Qinghuan burst into laughter, finding Lin Shishi’s flustered expression exceptionally amusing.

She deliberately leaned closer, lowering her voice. “Don’t worry, I’m just borrowing them. I’ll wash them clean and return them to you later—”

“Wuwuwu… Bad Master! Perverted Master!”

Lin Shishi mumbled softly, her eyes seemingly red-rimmed, whether from shame or urgency, it was hard to tell.

She hugged her knees, burying her face slightly, only revealing a pair of watery eyes that accused Song Qinghuan.

Song Qinghuan immediately widened her eyes, feigning fierceness. “Who’s perverted? Hm? Say that again?”

She reached out, making a move to pinch Lin Shishi’s face.

Lin Shishi surrendered in a second, shrinking her neck and softly retracting her words. “I… I’m perverted… I said the wrong thing…”

She knew full well the consequences of rebellion… she might end up playing cards on the boat…

“That’s more like it.”

Song Qinghuan withdrew her hand with satisfaction, but still extended it. “Good girl, the socks.”

Lin Shishi bit her lower lip, struggling internally for a long moment.

Seeing Song Qinghuan’s undeniable gaze, she knew her socks wouldn’t be safe today.

The young girl slowly, and with extreme reluctance, bent down. Her fingers hooked onto the lace edge of her white knee-high socks, and then, little by little, she peeled the socks from her legs.

Blushing furiously, she barely dared to look at Song Qinghuan as she swiftly shoved the two white socks, still warm from her body and slightly damp with sweat, into Song Qinghuan’s hand. Then, she immediately pulled her bare feet back onto the seat, hugging them with her hands, attempting to hide them.

Song Qinghuan accepted the socks.

The socks were soft, slightly damp, still retaining Lin Shishi’s body temperature and that peculiar, sweet scent, mixed with a hint of post-exercise perspiration, which was not unpleasant.

Song Qinghuan deliberately brought the socks to her nose, then displayed an exaggerated, enraptured expression.

“Pervert!”

Lin Shishi truly couldn’t hold back this time, indignantly cursing in a low voice.

Song Qinghuan immediately narrowed her eyes, her tone dangerous. “Who’s perverted?”

Lin Shishi instantly shook her head like a startled rabbit, her twin pigtails swaying. “Me, me, me! I’m the pervert! I was thinking nonsense! Master is the most proper!”

Only then did Song Qinghuan hum, satisfied, and withdraw her gaze.

She began to tinker with the broken oar, Lin Shishi’s small leather shoes, and the white socks.

Her idea was simple: use the socks and shoes to connect and extend the broken part with the remaining long handle, creating a temporary extended oar.

However, the ideal was grand, but reality was harsh.

Although Lin Shishi’s white socks had good elasticity, their length was limited, and their smooth material made it difficult to secure them firmly to the rough wooden oar.

Song Qinghuan tried several times, but either they wouldn’t tie tightly enough, or they weren’t long enough to bridge the break.

“Tsk…”

Song Qinghuan frowned, looking at the loose, flimsy ‘composite oar’ that threatened to fall apart at any moment. She was very displeased.

And so, the mature woman once again smirked mischievously at Lin Shishi.

This time, Lin Shishi was truly terrified.

Aw…

The young girl, without a sound, prepared to flee.

But on a boat, no matter how she ran, she couldn’t escape.

Finally, under Song Qinghuan’s coaxing and deception, Lin Shishi ultimately lost… her hair tie…

“Hey… it’s just a hair tie… it’s not like it’s anything else…” Song Qinghuan smirked.

Lin Shishi: “…”

What a truly bad dog master!

Anyone seeing this posture would assume it was…

In any case… Lin Shishi was both amused and exasperated…

This time, Song Qinghuan secured the oar, tested it, and found it surprisingly suitable.

Song Qinghuan picked up this unique ‘composite oar’ and began to paddle.

Indeed, the effect was much better than before, and the boat began to move steadily towards the shore.

However, their peculiar ‘oar’ was far too eye-catching.

Especially the white socks and hair tie swaying with each paddle stroke, and the two small women’s shoes at the oar blade.

The girls on other boats on the lake gradually noticed them.

They first stared curiously, and after seeing the construction of the oar, they all covered their mouths and giggled, whispering to each other and pointing.

Although they couldn’t hear exactly what was being said, those glances and laughter were clearly focused on the strange oar and the girl on the boat who had buried her face, revealing only her cute twin pigtails and flushed ears.

“Look at that oar… it’s so strange!”

“Is that… a sock? And shoes?”

“Oh my god, what were they thinking?”

“But it’s paddling quite steadily…”

“The girl with her head buried is so cute, is she shy?”

Song Qinghuan, thick-skinned, didn’t care at all, even paddling more vigorously, the two white socks fluttering like flags.

Meanwhile, Lin Shishi, who had lost her shoes, socks, and hair tie, covered her small face. She huddled in the boat, her bare toes tightly curled.

In her heart, she cursed Song Qinghuan, this ‘bad master,’ a hundred times over.

Internally, she transformed into Ah Q, using the method of spiritual victory to fiercely stomp on Song Qinghuan’s face, then shouted, “Bastard Song Qinghuan, beg for my mercy—”

In her mind, Song Qinghuan prostrated herself, kneeling and wailing softly, “Master Shishi, spare my life!”

In her mind, Lin Shishi sneered, “You dog s*ave, slap yourself! Keep slapping until you pass out!”

Then Lin Shishi fantasized about Song Qinghuan knocking herself unconscious.

The young girl couldn’t help but giggle softly.

At this moment, Song Qinghuan was still rowing the boat, and seeing the little imp giggling, she found it rather strange.

‘This girl, has she gone mad?’
