Chapter 64: A Moonlit Confession

Song Qinghuan’s voice turned icy. “If I hear you insult my little darling again, that face of yours won’t be yours to keep!”

She had to admit, despite promising Song Siyu that she would never easily resort to violence, this time, she couldn’t hold back any longer.

That b*tch… was just too despicable!

Zhao Min immediately covered her face, the outburst she was about to unleash swallowed back down.

Guo Fu was also stunned by Song Qinghuan’s harsh words.

Forcing down her anger, she took a deep breath. “Fine… you win.”

Gritting her teeth, Guo Fu pulled the trembling Zhao Min along. “Minmin, let’s go. We won’t stoop to her level.”

Her words were tough, but her steps as she dragged Zhao Min away were hurried.

Before leaving, Zhao Min turned back to glare fiercely at Song Qinghuan, then shot a resentful glance at Lin Shishi.

Watching their figures retreat down the mountain path, gradually disappearing into the twilight, Song Qinghuan curled her lips and turned back to Lin Shishi.

Lin Shishi immediately threw herself into her arms, her voice filled with gratitude. “Master… you were so domineering just now!”

“So you liked it?” Song Qinghuan smiled.

Then she sighed softly. The gentle image she had carefully maintained was completely shattered by that slap.

“I liked it—but I like the gentle sister the best!” Lin Shishi stuck out her tongue.

Then she muttered quietly, “Hmph, really… they ruined our good mood.”

Song Qinghuan lowered her head and kissed her forehead. “Don’t think about them. Your hubby is here; no one can bully you.”

She looked around. The dusk was deepening, the sun only a faint red glow on the horizon, while the moon grew clearer.

“There’s a small pavilion over there. Let’s rest and have something to eat.”

“Mm!” Lin Shishi nodded and took Song Qinghuan’s hand.

The two walked down another, quieter path, and amid a dense bamboo grove, they found a small mountain spring and an ancient stone pavilion.

The spring water seeped from rock crevices, collecting into a clear, shallow pool before trickling down an artificial stone channel, producing a pleasant tinkling sound.

The water was extremely clear, appearing like flowing jade in the twilight.

The pavilion was small, supported by four stone pillars with a roof of green tiles. Inside, there was a stone table and several stone stools, all very clean.

“This water is drinkable. It’s very sweet.”

Lin Shishi ran to the spring, crouched down, cupped some water in her hands, took a sip, then looked up at Song Qinghuan with a smile, glistening droplets still on her lips.

Song Qinghuan walked over, took out her thermos, filled it with spring water, and took a drink.

The cool, sweet taste instantly moistened her throat, dispelling the earlier heat and displeasure.

“It really is sweet!” she praised. “Much better than bottled water.”

“Right?” Lin Shishi said proudly. “The water vein on this mountain is very good. The water used in our backyard is also diverted from this spring. Many people in town say this water is nourishing.”

“Exactly.” Song Qinghuan smiled and pinched Lin Shishi’s cheek. “It’s because of this mountain spring that my Shishi is so delicate and lovely, turning into a water fairy at the slightest touch.”

Lin Shishi blushed, gave her a reproachful glare, but couldn’t help laughing.

The two sat down on the stone stools in the pavilion.

Song Qinghuan took out bread and fruit from her bag and shared them with Lin Shishi.

After hiking for half a day and undergoing the earlier ordeal, they were both hungry and ate quietly.

Dusk enveloped them, the pavilion bathed in a tranquil yellow light.

The last trace of sunset vanished in the west. The crescent moon in the east became clearer and brighter, casting frosty silver light.

The mountain wind rustled through the bamboo grove, mixed with the babbling of the spring, like a natural symphony.

Lights in the distant town flickered on one by one, like scattered stars on the ground.

Lin Shishi took a bite of bread and suddenly sighed softly, full of longing. “Master, if only we could live here forever, just like this.”

Song Qinghuan’s heart stirred.

She put down her food, turned, and cupped Lin Shishi’s face in her hands, making her look at her.

Under the moonlight, Lin Shishi’s eyes were like lakes filled with starlight, pure and beautiful.

Song Qinghuan’s voice was filled with unprecedented seriousness and tenderness. “Shishi—if you like it here, I’ll bring you often. Don’t worry, in this life, I’ve got you. No matter where you go, up mountains or down to the sea, I’ll be with you every step of the way, making you feel my presence everywhere.”

Lin Shishi gazed at Song Qinghuan, listening to her almost oath-like words. Her heart felt as if it had been struck by something heavy, then enveloped in boundless warmth and sweetness.

A strong, indescribable emotion surged within her, breaking through shyness and timidity.

She suddenly threw herself into Song Qinghuan’s arms, wrapping her arms tightly around her waist, burying her face in her chest, and said sweetly, “Qinghuan… I love you.”

Song Qinghuan’s body stiffened noticeably.

It was the first time she heard such a direct, untainted ‘love’ from Lin Shishi.

A strange, surging warmth rushed through her heart, causing it to pound uncontrollably, beating like a drum against her chest.

She almost eagerly reached out, gently pinching Lin Shishi’s delicate chin between her thumb and forefinger, lifting it slightly so that the eyes, misty with devotion and love, had nowhere to hide.

“Say it again, my little darling.”

Song Qinghuan’s voice carried a hint of barely perceptible hoarseness and command.

Lin Shishi’s cheeks grew even hotter under her fingers, her long lashes trembling.

Meeting Song Qinghuan’s gaze, she broke into a blissful, even silly smile and said loudly, “Qinghuan, I love you.”

Song Qinghuan tightened her arms, pulling Lin Shishi deeper into her embrace.

She lowered her head, burying her face in Lin Shishi’s hair, which smelled faintly of fragrance, and whispered, “I love you too, my little darling. I love everything about you… your name, your chin, your lips, your breasts, and these little feet that I can’t get enough of—in short, every inch, every part of you, inside and out, I adore beyond measure.”

This passionate confession made the girl’s voice even shyer. “Master… why do you always say such embarrassing things… making me blush and my heart race nonstop…”

“That’s because…” Song Qinghuan cupped Lin Shishi’s burning cheeks, gazing into her moist eyes. “I love you so deeply—so much that it comes out as embarrassment.”

With that, Song Qinghuan hesitated no more. She gently kissed Lin Shishi’s smooth chin, then moved upward, accurately touching the slightly parted lips.
