Chapter 19: Meeting the Goddess

“Wasn’t I supposed to have my memories extracted… Where is this?!”

I snapped my eyes open and found a goddess standing before me with an extraordinarily large bust.

Her captivating eyes, her commanding presence, the celestial ribbons floating around her.

Surely, this was a deity.

I was surrounded by a sea of clouds.

Staring at the goddess, I muttered irritably, “Why… did you come so late?!”

“Oh my, are you alright?” the goddess said with a smile. “How are you feeling now?”

“Heh, hehe, heh, ugh…” Hearing such a gentle, caring voice and beholding a goddess so beautiful and kind, I could only force a bitter, trembling laugh.

Large teardrops streamed down my face, completely beyond my control.

In an instant, all my vigilance and strength drained away.

Like a robot suddenly losing power, I collapsed to my knees before the goddess.

I sat there in a child’s pose, slumped on the ground.

My body… was still that of an elementary school student who had been tortured…

I didn’t know what to say…

But at this moment, it wasn’t that I didn’t know what to say—it was that I had nothing left to say.

The goddess’s face was full of regret, and she too remained silent.

Tears streaming, I gazed at her for over ten seconds without uttering a word.

“Hmph, you came too late…”

“Can I ask for superpowers or a cheat?”

“Can I build a harem now?”

If the goddess had appeared just one day earlier, I would have definitely said those things.

But now, I just sat there, grinning foolishly.

After an unknown amount of time, I whispered in immense pain, “Are you a god?” Tears kept falling, endlessly, endlessly…

The goddess smiled and nodded. “Yes, I am.”

I had finally met a goddess, so why did my heart ache so much!

“Why… did you come so late.” I lowered my head and murmured.

My once innocent and naive voice now sounded so resentful.

But as soon as I finished speaking, I could no longer suppress the emotions within me.

All the feelings I had bottled up for eight days burst forth in an instant:

“Why! Why am I so powerless!”

“Why! Why is my body so weak!!”

“Why did you send me here!!!”

“Why did I have to suffer such torment!”

“Why! Why, why, why!”

“Aaaaaah!” I screamed like a madman, roared like a beast.

But even after screaming, I found no relief, only exhaustion.

Finally, with a face full of tears, I lamented weakly, “Why!! You! Only show up when I don’t want to live anymore…”

“It’s all your fault! All… your fault! Why now!”

I had already lost too much…

Ah… I don’t want to live anymore, just kill me…

I don’t want to think…

Living is so tiring…

Seeing my grief-stricken expression, the goddess looked deeply ashamed.

She smiled bitterly, knelt before me, and gently stroked my hair.

Then she softly pulled me into her embrace.

“I’m sorry, it’s truly my fault for letting you suffer such an ordeal.” The goddess tenderly held me, my heart already dead.

My head throbbed; I had no energy to speak.

The goddess continued to hold me, just like an older sister caring for a younger sister, cradling me in her arms with unparalleled gentleness.

A sweet, faint, sky-like fragrance emanated from her.

My despairing, frenzied expression gradually softened under the influence of this scent.

So this is what it feels like to be held… so reassuring…

Just like the feeling of my mother holding me when I was little…

The goddess said, “I don’t know exactly what happened to send you to this world. And… I only discovered you recently. I’m so sorry, it’s all my fault.”

“Yes, it’s all your fault! So how are you going to compensate me!”

Normally, I would have said that. But right now, my mind had no interest in teasing the goddess, nor any desire to speak. I just wanted to nestle against her chest.

“Ten seconds… just ten seconds…”

“Whether it’s out of lechery or seeking solace… please give me ten seconds…”

I hugged the goddess tightly around the waist, burying my face deeply between her breasts.

My tears continued to flow, soaking her bosom.

Yet the goddess didn’t mind; she kept gently stroking me.

“Mm…”

I blissfully embraced the deity.

After ten seconds, I immediately pushed her away, wiped my tears, and stood up.

With my head down and face flushed, I suddenly looked at the pure white dress I was wearing.

“Hehe, Goddess, I’m a guy, you know.” I said casually.

By now, my mood had completely recovered.

‘This must be what a god is like—able to bring peace of mind, like a parent,’ I thought.

“Oh, so you’re not satisfied with this outfit?” The goddess waved her hand, changing my clothes into a clean set of men’s casual wear.

“Yes, this feels much better.”

“Alright, are you feeling better now?”

“Mm, much better. So let’s get down to business!” I put my hands on my hips and said proudly.

But then I reconsidered—wasn’t I dead…

“Oh, right, Goddess, am I dead now? Is this a second reincarnation, or a transmigration?” I asked, full of confusion.

“That’s right, you were dead, but Moke revived you.”

“Moke?” I hesitated. “I was dead, and he could revive me? And you said ‘again’?!”

“Don’t tell me it’s that PM2.5,” I said with a grimace, disgusted.

Now, my gloom had completely vanished. After all, I had met a goddess and could make any wish I wanted.

My expressions were much more varied than before; even I couldn’t believe I was so expressive now.

‘This is what they call joy brightens the spirit!’ a certain personality remarked.

“Hehe.” The goddess chuckled sweetly. “That’s a name fit for your era. Yes, that smoker is called Moke.”

I curled my lip and said helplessly, “Oh, that guy… So, does that mean I can go back?”

“Yes, that’s right. You can choose to return to your current world, or you can go to another world. I’ll respect your decision.” The goddess said with a smile.

‘Ah, so this is how a goddess is different!’

“So can I go back to my original world?” I asked immediately. Frankly, I didn’t want to stay in this world for another second.

After I finished speaking, the goddess closed her eyes, her serene expression making me even more infatuated.

But suddenly, everything before me stuttered.

For an instant, all the scenery before my eyes, including the goddess herself, everything, came to a complete standstill.

The image before me showed obvious color fading, ghosting, and misaligned fractures.
