Join the ServerSuddenly, I shuddered and sneezed: “Ah-choo!”
“My god, even a sneeze is this cute.”
Once again, this body’s voice made me feel feverish. And indeed, I was running a fever.
Just then, the goblin tapped the ground with his foot, making a clattering sound.
“Hmm—” He hummed thoughtfully, drawing out the note.
“Ah… don’t tell me I caught a cold, so now I’m going to be killed…”
I had grown numb to living. It felt like whatever I did, I was at risk of being killed.
“Tsk, humans are just humans, getting sick so easily?!” The goblin’s contemptuous voice stung, but I no longer felt the urge to punch him like I did at first…
I had fully realized the gap in our abilities now.
“An unbridgeable racial chasm…”
I lowered my head, awaiting death.
But what I received wasn’t death—it was a set of clothes.
A set of clothes in deep blue and white landed on me. I quickly caught it.
“Hurry up and put it on!” “Oh.” I replied briskly, dressing swiftly.
When I finished, I felt the world was full of malice.
The clothes were indeed much better than before, but this set was a maid outfit.
“The world is this terrifying to me…”
I slumped to the ground, looking completely defeated, imagining how I must appear.
Lace-trimmed skirt, long black stockings, paired with delicate little shoes.
And… the damn familiar feeling of going commando…
“Ah… why does it always come to this…”
I had grown accustomed to this world.
“An Feng Luo Yi Zhi!” While I stood dazed, the goblin suddenly waved his magic wand and chanted a spell. Following that, a beam of golden light mixed with shimmering green specks shot toward me.
Startled, I squeezed my eyes shut, tears welling at the corners.
“I’m going to die! I’m going to die again! I’m going to die… Huh?!”
I thought I was about to die, but the light was surprisingly warm.
I felt my cold being cured—my nose stopped itching, my dizziness faded.
“I’m being healed?! No way, is this for real? Did the goddess send me some blessings at the last moment?!”
I stared in amazement at the goblin with the golden earring.
“Hmph. Such a simpleton, never seen the world. That was a healing spell, you blockhead.” I had just started to gain a little goodwill for this goblin, but with that one remark, my goodwill plummeted back into negative territory.
“What are you gawking at? Come over here!” This guy’s words were always so! Harsh!
And so, I continued walking behind him.
After climbing half a flight of stairs, we didn’t turn into that ‘bathhouse’ from last time, but continued up another half flight.
As I walked, I clearly noticed that this outfit allowed much more airflow down there than the previous sackcloth.
Seven days of going commando had somewhat accustomed me to it.
Even though I really didn’t want to admit it!!
“But it really is a dungeon, lots of wind… An Feng Luo Yi Zhi, An Feng Luo Yi Zhi, An Feng Luo Yi Zhi…”
Afraid of catching a cold, I silently repeated the spell the goblin had chanted.
“That tall goblin last time chanted too fast; I didn’t memorize it. This time I absolutely have to remember!”
After climbing the second flight of stairs, I found this was also a dungeon, and it actually held prisoners.
Following behind the goblin, I noticed that most of the people in the iron cages had red hair. Their hands and feet were bound in wide shackles, even larger than those on my group.
They looked no different from humans—if anything, perhaps a bit more robust.
Their clothes were stained with blood, and their expressions were like those of my ‘fellow slaves’ at the beginning—full of hopelessness, despair, and disappointment.
“Mm, not bad, you sure know a lot of ‘hopelessness’ and ‘despair,'” one of my personalities quipped in my mind.
“At a time like this, you still have the nerve to joke,” I muttered to myself.
“Hmph, stop gawking. These are just Red Devil trash, defeated captives. They can’t save you. Or do you want to save them? Hahahaha!” The goblin laughed arrogantly.
I listened but had no strength to retort.
I just stood there, wearing a bitter smile.
“Like an idiot…”
Then we ascended another floor. This floor was empty, but I had a faint memory of it.
“The decorations and patterns here are far more numerous than the previous two floors, slightly more ornate. Oh right, this is the place where there’s a small passage leading to the dance hall!”
“I guess this is the secret passage area?”
Just as I thought, I followed the golden-earring goblin to a door, and when we emerged, we were in the dance hall.
As I stepped out, I immediately saw the tall goblin holding a small notebook.
Tall: “Oh, you’re here?” Short: “Mm, then I’ll take my leave.” In a moment, the short goblin disappeared.
“So goblins really don’t like to talk much? That aloof, huh?”
Then the tall goblin looked me over, assessing my attire.
His gaze made me feel somewhat hostile toward him.
“Today’s work is over. You can go back to your room!” This familiar voice, that cadence of speech.
I nodded and walked lightly back to the room.
When I returned, I saw over a dozen people already sitting inside.
Familiar faces, familiar figures, brought tears to my eyes.
Though I didn’t think highly of them, in this world, they were my only family.
“Jiushi! Hey, look, Jiushi’s back!” “Your clothes?! Haha, what happened?” “Ah! Jiushi!” A dozen people crowded around.
“Hey, where did you go? Why are you back so late!” “And what’s with those clothes?” “Don’t tell us you tried to escape and got caught.” Seeing them care about me, I couldn’t hold back my tears any longer.
Me: “Escape? How could I escape? I was taken for interrogation.” “Huh? What happened?” the others asked.
“I was suspected of being a Blackfeather person, so they took me and killed me a few times.” I briefly explained my situation.
“What do you mean? Killed several times?” Fang Changjie asked.
“Literally. I was killed four times and resurrected four times… then they let me go.” After hearing this, someone suddenly hugged me, both of us crying bitterly.
“Xu Xia? You?” The sudden embrace caught me off guard.
Her soft touch reminded me of the goddess… and then the terrifying scene.
A wave of fear made my tears stop.
‘These people here aren’t that smart. I can’t keep crying like this; it affects my thinking speed.’
I thought this as I wiped the tears from my eyes.
