Chapter 43: Rushed to the Ancient Ruins

This twist came too fast! How did I end up brought here?

Aren’t you discussing anymore? Princess, isn’t what you’re doing a bit wrong?

I looked around at the burly men and the few female soldiers, completely bewildered. I suddenly noticed my handcuffs and shackles were gone.

‘My God, they disappeared again for no reason! Ha… ugh… my stomach feels sick, nauseous! This lady is way too fast.’ If I hadn’t skipped breakfast, I think I would have thrown up on the Ga Beast.

By the way, where did the princess say we were going? Dreamy Nan Forest? What kind of place is that?

I watched the crazy princess in the distance. She climbed a wooden plank, dashed up a wooden platform, and shouted, ‘Blood Wolf troops! Fall in!!’

Immediately, a large group of soldiers in cyan armor assembled. Their armor and capes all bore the pattern of a blood-red wolf’s head.

Then… I have no idea what happened, but I found myself sitting on a spiked flying dragon, oh, a Ga Beast, and we were flying into the sky.

‘My God… don’t be so thrilling, waaah, !’ I clung tightly to the Ga Beast’s reins, leaning against Princess Qiaolu.

I actually wasn’t afraid of heights before, but now I am! And I’m afraid of speed now! This female driver is way too fast!

‘Waaah, sister, can you slow down!’ I begged, my face stinging from the wind.

‘Princess! You’re too fast! Wait for us!’ I heard the soldiers behind me also shouting.

‘Hang on! We’ll be there in an hour! Speed up!’ the princess shouted excitedly.

‘Princess! Our Ga Beasts can’t compare to yours! Please slow down!’ The soldiers’ words were nearly drowned out by the wind.

Even the soldiers behind thought the princess’s mount was too fast. My God, do you know you’re speeding, you female driver!

Anyway, I flew in the sky for an hour.

‘Ah! We’re here! Starting our descent!’ the princess shouted excitedly.

Then I experienced a roller coaster, a vertical drop from a hundred meters up!

‘Ahhhh!’ I screamed. The dragon stopped perfectly just before hitting the ground.

‘Urgh!’ Due to the sudden stop, my stomach lurched. (Good thing I had nothing to throw up.) Finally stopped? I glanced at the dense vegetation around me, and then the dragon started running again at high speed.

‘Waaah!’ I yelled.

‘How was that! Exciting, right?’ the princess said excitedly.

‘Slow down!’ I shouted, but then a huge gulp of wind hit my stomach. ‘Wah!’ ‘This is already slow!’ After a few more seconds, the female driver finally stopped.

We arrived at a temporary military rest area. Flags with petal patterns, like those of Huaying City, were planted everywhere.

‘Is this Dreamy Nan Forest? Ugh, ‘ I felt terrible, freezing from the wind, and the dense forest had no sunlight.

‘Heavens…’

I took a moment to recover and look at the surroundings. The crazy woman grabbed me off the dragon, carried me, and rushed into a large tent in one breath.

Inside the tent were many robed scholars, all wearing glasses, seemingly engaged in archaeology.

‘Waltz, are you there?’ ‘Oh, Your Highness, you’re back so soon?’ ‘Yes, I found a way to open the door.’ ‘Oh? How so?’ ‘Don’t ask too many questions. Gather everyone quickly. I’m going to open the door.’ ‘Yes, my lord. I’ll do it right away.’ Then the princess dashed to other tents and gathered about thirty people. Including the Blood Wolf troops she brought, there were nearly a hundred.

So I was carried all the way, and somehow ended up at an underground ruin.

‘Who am I? Where am I? How did I get down here?’

‘Why is this person so fast? Is this a magical world? This is an accelerated world.’

‘It’s just ahead,’ said a leading scholar.

‘Oh, someone bring a torch!’ ‘Yes!’ A mage from the Blood Wolf troops raised their staff and illuminated the entire space with light magic.

A massive door made of green and purple stone slabs blocked our path. I guessed it was almost two stories high.

‘Is this an ancient relic?’ ‘Wow, it’s huge!’ ‘Soldiers! I brought you here for this door! I don’t know if there’s danger behind it, but I know there’s a lot of ancient relics inside! So, for the future of our Red Demon clan, stay sharp! And move the stuff!’ ‘Yes!’ the soldiers responded in perfect unison.

‘Uh, ‘ I was speechless. I said, Your Highness, your speech was really inspiring, but what’s with that ‘move the stuff’ at the end? You brought all these people just to carry things?

‘Wait, this is an ancient relic?’ I couldn’t help but recall the magic cannon I saw in the hall earlier. Was that also a relic? So I’m here to open the door? And is this relic from the Black Feather clan? Such a huge underground ruin?

The more I thought, the more I felt my race was powerful.

‘Very well! Then please let those who are not in the Blood Wolf troops withdraw behind the formation. All Blood Wolf soldiers, prepare for battle! Mages, ready air purification and explosion barriers!’

Then I was put down on the ground. I tilted my head and looked back at the crazy woman who was half a head taller than me.

‘Um… Your Highness, I know you want me to open the door. But how do I open it? Just touch it?’ ‘Yes! Just touch it. Go ahead.’ Her innocent smile left me speechless.

I admit you’re beautiful, but I feel like you’re setting me up.

‘Don’t you want to clear your guilt?’ Her expression suddenly turned murderous as she looked at me.

I swallowed. This seemingly airhead female general, was she actually a schemer?

The moment I hesitated, I saw the female general open her eyes darkly and slowly draw the sword from her waist.

She said coldly, ‘You? What are you waiting for?’ ‘Ah, fine, I’ll go. I think you’re very beautiful, princess, so I wanted to look at you a little longer,’ I said cutely, then quickly ran to the door.

‘Geez, she’s definitely a schemer!’

I reached the door quickly. Although I’m not afraid of human expressions at all, I really didn’t want to provoke this princess anymore! (I didn’t want to admit it, but because I’ve served so many demons, I’m now immune to any human expressions.)

‘Ah, I wanted to die just now… Why did I run away? Wouldn’t it be better to die instead?!’

For some reason, I didn’t want to die anymore.

I should live on. Maybe there’s still hope for me.
