Chapter 57: A Messy Confession

I shouted at Anna, who I’d knocked to the floor with a pillow.

“Ahh, why are you so cute, little one!” Anna suddenly pulled me into a hug. “You’re just a child, yet you’re always thinking about others.”

She hugged me tight. Those buffs of hers really hadn’t worn off. She was unbelievably strong.

I… well, I don’t hate being hugged. But how should I put it… I probably don’t like being comforted.

Because I knew my state of mind was way too quick to fall for someone right now. And falling for someone I didn’t understand meant getting hurt.

I didn’t want my heart to be hurt again.

I was afraid of being driven crazy.

“It’s fine. Even if you don’t understand me now, you will in the future. I will never hurt you again.” Anna held me warmly.

“Hmph, don’t expect me to believe you!” I said coldly, but my heart was already moved.

“Then~ I’ll give you my body. Would you believe me?” Her cheeks flushed as she spoke, though she couldn’t bring herself to meet my eyes.

“Hmph, how would I know if you’re telling the truth?” I shot back without thinking. ‘Anyway, I’m just a kid. What could I even do?’

“Then, I’ll quickly turn you into an adult~” She gave a soft smile.

She loosened her arms around me and started to cast a spell.

“Hey, hey! Fine, fine, I believe you! Stop the magic! I just want to be a cute boy. I don’t want to grow up…” I said nervously, grabbing her hand to stop her.

God damn it! I missed my chance to escape, and I missed my chance to marry a great archmage!

What have I done?

‘Sigh. Whatever. I’m going to die in a year anyway…’

“Ugh… heh heh heh…” I laughed weakly.

“Geez! I’ve been this forward, and I still can’t believe it. Are you really a boy?!” Anna was stunned.

“I’m a guy, got a problem with that?! So can you let go of me?!” I shook my arm in frustration, but Anna’s right hand stayed clamped around it.

“Of course not! Didn’t I already say that?! Please, big sister, spare me! I’m still a kid!” I begged.

“Okay, okay, I got it. But I’m going to keep an eye on you, so you don’t go trying to die again.” With that, she finally let go of my arm.

“Suit yourself. I’m going to sleep! Goodnight!” I got up from the floor, picked up the pillow I’d thrown at Anna, and went back to bed with mixed feelings.

Anna settled in behind me. I turned my back to her.

Three pillows on my bed. One for my head, one in my arms, so the last one went to her.

The blanket… there was only one. We’d have to share. Tsk.

“I’m telling you, don’t you dare suddenly reach out and hug me!” I said impatiently.

The moment the words left my mouth, a sound of a scheme being exposed came from behind: “Tsk!”

‘Tsk. Called it. I really did guess right.’

“Big sister, I have a question. Can you hear whatever you want from people, whether they want you to or not?”

“Mm… that’s right. I’m sorry, I lied to you before.” She sounded shy. The haughtiness from before was completely gone. Combined with the change in her voice, my impression of her was honestly shooting straight up.

‘So she heard everything I was thinking just now?! Ugh!’ I could feel my face heating up.

“I won’t use it on you anymore.” She said it sweetly, her voice like a pampered princess.

In that instant, I felt a pair of slender, soft hands gently wrap around me from behind…

I knew I could never break free from Anna’s arms, so I let out a sigh. “Sigh…”

If she wants to hug, let her. Who told me to be this cute?

‘Being confessed to by a real girl makes me shy. But sharing a bed with one doesn’t bother me at all.’

I gave up struggling and got ready to sleep.

But just as my eyelids were about to close, I couldn’t help but remember that nightmare from the other day. Mom and Dad… in the dream, they turned into demons.

My heart ached. My head was a mess.

But Anna behind me didn’t react. I guess she really had stopped reading my mind.

Tears ran down my face all of a sudden.

I’d worked hard for twelve years. I finally got into a good university. I thought I could finally repay Mom and Dad. But then… I transmigrated!

I knew there was another ‘me’ in my original world. An identical ‘me’ who would take care of Mom and Dad for me.
